Hey folks,
I rooted my GS3 right after I got it and everything has been functioning fine. I actually like the stock ROM so I have stuck with it and just removed the bloat. Recently an OTA update was released and I followed an article on putting my updater back to stock to receive the OTA update. I tried updating but it was unable to complete. Now when I go into software updates there is an option that says "continue update" that is grayed out. Is there a workaround to this or do I need to flash back to stock, receive the new update and reroot? If that's the case a link to a walk through would be appreciated. Thanks
anyone?
I was able to get to 4.1 successfully with kies this morning

I recently received the OTA update for my stock incredible. My phone got stuck on the part that says "rebooting...." so I hit cancel with the hope of just restarting the update. After doing this the update disappeared but I am still on 2.2. Any help on how to get the OTA update to come back?
Hey everyone,
So two night ago I received a notification on my GS3 saying a new update was out.
When I tried installing the update it rebooted into recovery and failed at 24%....weird. I was running Rogers stock rom and recovery at the time so this shouldn't have happened, and I would like to know why for future reference.
I also tried updating via samsung kies. But when I tried this, it said my device wasn't compatible to update via kies????
So I ended up download the LK4 update off sammobile website and installed it using odin.
Anyways, I now have the new update installed. I've noticed two weird things:
1. When I go to about phone in settings and go into software update, it shows a screen "checking for software updates..." and doesn't go away unless I press back or home button. Why can't I search for new updates????
2. My google now voice isn't working. It recognizes what I say to it but when it gives the flashcard response, it doesn't talk back like it normally does. I have it set to English US, and yes my media volume is up at full volume.
Anyways I'm a little frustrated at this point. I can't figure out how to fix these problems so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I've got an unrooted, completely stock, unlocked Galaxy Nexus. A few weeks ago, I updated it to 4.3 when prompted by the usual notification ("System update downloaded: Touch to install"), and the update went fine.
However, since then I keep getting the same notification again, and pressing it seems to reinstall 4.3. The notification then reappears after a week or so. I know the update isn't failing, as I can see in the settings that it's running 4.3.
Does anyone know why it might be doing this, and how I can stop it?!

Hi all!
I just got my T-Mobile G3 today. I immediately rooted it using StumpRoot and then proceeded to start ripping out TMobile & LG bloatware.
I saw the OTA update which after some research must be D85110M. It seemed reasonable so I went ahead and hit update, planning to reroot afterwards. I looked back to my computer.
About 5 minutes later, I look down, only to find my phone rebooted. I go to system settings, and notice that my build version is still D85110C, which is what my G3 came with. In addition, the OTA update notification is nowhere to be found. I have tried going into settings and searching for a new update, but it appears my phone thinks the update was installed, but it clearly has not been. I cannot imagine there was any errors in the process, as it should have just ran while plugged in.
Any ideas?
Hi All,
Last week I received a system update for my Nexus 7 for Lollipop. At that time I didn't want to update so I dismissed the notification. The problem is that I can't get it to re-appear. I've already tried to check for updates 100 times over a couple of days. I've also cleared the Google Play Services and then check for updates, but didn't work.
Is there a simple way to get the update notification again?
Thank you for your help!
Yes, wait for the OTA to become available again. There's a possibility that the latest OTA (5.0.1) was pulled and is no longer available. If you really want the update, download the firmware from Google and flash it manually.
Edit: someone got the notification today. So who knows why you haven't received the notification.
I thought one you dismiss the notification and don't take the update you go back to the end of the queue - so it could be weeks before you get it again.
Happened to me as well. Got the notification last week for 5.0.1, didn't update but didn't dismiss it either. After a couple of days it just disappeared and so far hasn't shown again.
I'm still waiting on 5.0 here. Getting annoyed and was looking for sideload update options but if other people are still waiting on it I guess I'll hold off a bit longer.
If you're now running a modified stock rom, you will most likely have issues updating with the OTA. Here's a way to update without having problems or waiting for the OTA with no loss of data: Download the rooted rom from Scrosler found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex.../rom-factory-stock-rooted-rom-lrx22c-t2960745 , use Wugfresh's NRT 1.9.9 to update the bootloader that's also mentioned in Scrosler's thread, and then dirty flash (no wipes) the 5.0.1 rom with TWRP.

Stop waiting and do it manually. Why is everyone so consumed with sideloading? You can flash the latest firmware in fastboot without losing anything.
When I lost my update (long story) it took 3 days to come back. A little less than I was expecting but still a little more than I wanted. I'd expect you'll get it back in 2-3 days.
Same here! But will download it now instead. Tierd of waaiting
