[Q] DSP Manager and Bluetooth - Sprint LG Optimus G

I use bluetooth to listen to Spotify in my suv and I noticed that when trying to enable DSP bluetooth settings (like EQ) the sound does not change. However, if I change the settings in the speaker tab the sound does change. anyone else encounter this?
PS I'm running Dirty Unicorn

[Q] Has anyone gotten the Equalizer app to work?

So I've been trying to improve sound quality since a lot of my phone usage is spent listening to music at work. I downloaded the Equalizer app and it seems to randomly reboot my phone. I think it's tied to using bass booster but because it's so random I haven't been able to narrow it down yet.
Just curious if anyone has been using the app and if theirs is working.
what eq app? I'm using Google music and it has built in eq.

The stock music app already has an eq. When you are on the now playing view use the menu and there should be a sound effects option.

All you have to do is pair the headphones/speakers/headset with the device and it does the rest for you

It depends on your bluetooth device.
Make sure it's a audio and media device.

Yep it has to be a bluetooth media device to play music but most everything on the market is.

Yes. Your BT headset must support A2DP blue tooth profile or better, to stream media.

Yeah A2dp is a req. I've been using a pair of kinivio bluetooth headphones for the last year on my htc inspire and now on my note2. Work almost flawlessly and I got em for 20 bucks.

What is your preferred music player?

Stopped using the stock music player once I realized how many wake locks it caused so now I need a new music player, just curious as to what everyone else is using.

Player pro with isyncr is the perfect combination if you use iTunes. If you just want a simple player, shuttle is pretty good

for eq and overall quality, nothing comes close to poweramp
Rhapsody is the best if you only listen to a ton of music though.

Gone MAD is the only one I have found that I like and it is pretty customizable.

I personally use Neutron. It is designed for audiophiles, so is not as easy to use as other players (according to others. I never had any issues). But..... it has the best sound and is the most adjustable by far (in my experience). Most of the settings only need to be set up initially (if you want something different than default), but most are just personal preferences. But I think it has a slick look, has every feature imaginable, plays every type of file made and sounds great (especially when the phone is hooked up to a nice system). I use my phone as a player in my car (via USB and BT) and at home (via dock/USB) and it produces incredibly clean and dynamic sound. Other players sounded like trash once hooked up. I also have heard good things about Poweramp, but I have found that Neutron does everything and only requires one file on your phone.

Louder sound

I've used viper4android and another sound mods to help with the audio. They are great for BT or with headphones. But I don't have that as an option at work and I use my phone to stream music. I need the audio to be louder. Are there any options?

Viper has the option to make stuff louder through the phone speaker! Just open Viper with no headset plugged in and it should be on the "Phone Speaker" tab

Audioboost sgs2 its $2.70 on the play store, it will give you a 19% gain on all audio out sources including the built in speaker, I have been using it with the ac!d audio mod, great sound quality and noticeably louder
