Stopped using the stock music player once I realized how many wake locks it caused so now I need a new music player, just curious as to what everyone else is using.

Player pro with isyncr is the perfect combination if you use iTunes. If you just want a simple player, shuttle is pretty good

for eq and overall quality, nothing comes close to poweramp
Rhapsody is the best if you only listen to a ton of music though.

Gone MAD is the only one I have found that I like and it is pretty customizable.

I personally use Neutron. It is designed for audiophiles, so is not as easy to use as other players (according to others. I never had any issues). But..... it has the best sound and is the most adjustable by far (in my experience). Most of the settings only need to be set up initially (if you want something different than default), but most are just personal preferences. But I think it has a slick look, has every feature imaginable, plays every type of file made and sounds great (especially when the phone is hooked up to a nice system). I use my phone as a player in my car (via USB and BT) and at home (via dock/USB) and it produces incredibly clean and dynamic sound. Other players sounded like trash once hooked up. I also have heard good things about Poweramp, but I have found that Neutron does everything and only requires one file on your phone.

Anyone able to play loss less files? I have tried several players (rocket etc.) apple loss less and flac. Also tried several rooms.

I agree poweramp has a lot more features to play with and its own themes.

I personally like Apollo and Google Play Music. They play music and play it well.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel, overclocked to 1.4GHz
Neutron Music player does beat all they mention, only for sound geek though
Depends what you want in a music player. I tested about half a dozen of the most popular ones and wound up buying GoneMAD. Doesn't look like much but has a very good eq/preamp/limiter section and is easy to use. Neutron was my second choice, but the preamp distorted too easily and the four band parametric eq just wasn't flexible enough. It was fun to play with though. Of the free ones, only MixZing had a decent eq, but the ads were really annoying. Anyway that's my two cents.
Poweramp ! It's a very good player.
Depuis mon G/Nexus.
I love Apollo, but now that I'm off sense and on AOKP, Apollo FC on any song I choose. Google music plays about half my songs (unlike sense). I also wanna hear more responses on this thread.
via xda premium on my AOKP'd Evo LTE
I can't seem to find Walkman on the market.

If you want a music app like the iPhone download bTunes from the market. The best music player for a android is Player Pro. Try both of them and see what's the best 4 you.
Doubletwist

I'm running JB right now with the apollo music player and I've noticed that a lot of my music that played on gingerbread no longer works. Does apollo only play certain files? If they do, what kind and how do I convert?

Hey,
I've tried apollo and the Google music player... I want a music player that I can play certain folders on my sd card? Most of my songs aren't labeled properly or tagged properly and I have them organized in folders, so that's much easier for me... anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I think "music player pro" by HALBERT is something that you might be looking for
Poweramp's equalizer alone makes it worth the price. Though I really enjoy Play Music's integration with your Google play music collection.
Can just be an app from the market or a music player ported from another phone like the song Xperia. Thank you

Now Playing and Apollo are pretty good. Though I haven't used a wide range. Just those 2 and Google's.
I use Google music, it's simple and clean and just works. I'm also subscribed to all access so even more reason to use it almost exclusively.

I used Google Music but being in Canada it was for just my music only and found that the cover art was low res and not changeable. I switched to PlayerPro.

Songza is pretty sweet. I use player pro for my own music...also a little off topic I found an app the joe rogan experience to download all his podcasts. ..if you've never heard him they are quite funny and very interesting at times.
