I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM, maguro) and had aokp 4.2.2 nightly installed on it for a while. I wanted to try out 4.3, so I went back to stock. After a week, I missed aokp's features and decided to go back. However, after installing aokp milestone 2 and gapps, I could download all of my apps from the Play Store except for G+. While downloading it freezes at 11% and sits there (for 10+ minutes). I figured something was wrong (maybe with milestone 2?), so I tried these other routes, not knowing what else to do: (1) I downgraded my Play app to 3.1 (or 3.2?); (2) I wiped my phone clean and installed stock 4.2.2; (3) I flashed the aokp nightly (prior to milestone 2) that I had originally used; (4) I tried 3 different versions of G+ from friends who kindly sent them to me. All three versions "stopped" and were unusable.
So, I'm stumped. I don't understand why G+ freezes at 11% on 4.2.2 stock, 4.3 stock, an aokp nightly, and aokp milestone 2. Or why other versions won't run.
The only other thing I can think of (if I understand it correctly): perhaps, when running 4.3, my G+ app was backed up and when I downgraded to 4.2.2 it became incompatible. Is that possible? If it was, I thought that wiping my phone and adding stock 4.2.2 would fix that, but the problem persists.
Thanks for your help.

I noticed something a few days ago while I was flashing the newest build of AOKP, and I was curious to see if anyone has noticed this or if it is just an issue for me. For as long as I can remember, every time I would flash a new ICS rom other than miui, all of the apps i had installed on my phone before the flash would automatically start downloading again upon the first boot on the new rom.
But as i said, upon flashing aokp build 40, remICS, paranoid android, and cm9, none of my apps from the play store have automatically restored. I tried all of them, being that there are different gapps packages for each rom, to see if it was a problem with the GAPPS package(s), but none of them worked. I also noticed that the GAPPS version had been changed for cm9 roms on the cyanogenmod wiki.
Can someone pleas explain to me what is going on, and what I need to do to get the feature of my apps restoring back. I tried searching but came up with nothing, any help is appreciated. Thanks, and have a good day!
thanks for the awesome help everybody, i knew i could count on you guys! (jkjk)
System settings > backup and reset. Back up Google account. Once that's done it should start restoring apps in between builds of anything as long as you do it on that rom. For example you back up on cm and flash aokp... it won't work. But if you flash another cm build it will start restoring again. Oh . And you don't need to wipe data between builds... its unnecessary unless directed otherwise.

My Verizon Nexus has been acting up for the last day or so. I was running the CM10 preview from the dev's G+ page with Trinity kernel. I've been on custom roms (ICS and JB) since I got the phone and have had no troubles up until now.
No matter what ROM and kernel Im on it freezes up and reboots. Its done this on stock, CM9, CM10 by fitsnugly, CM10 preview, and Paranoid Android. While messing with all of these I was unable to get some of them to flash completely. (CWM touch 5.something) It would get halfway through installing and then start bootlooping. My MD5s have been good the whole way. Ive relocked, unlocked, went back to stock. Tried TWRP tried the CWM 6 build. Nothing I can do will stabilize this phone.
Could the RAM or CPU be bad? Am I screwed? Been working on this since 7 am (its 230P now) and cant get any progress made.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to go back to an iPhone.
Note - I am not new to android, been rooting and romming phones since Android 1.5. Just had an iphone for a month or so a couple times.
Nexus Noob here (hence posting in QA, and not in the dev section)
I've been running Xenon for awhile now with no issues. Over the weekend I flashed the newest version:update-XenonHD-11-03-12-signed-toro.zip. I was coming from version: update-XenonHD-10-13-12-signed-toro.zip. This skipped over one version, so I'm not sure if that was part of my problem.
When I first flashed the rom (CWM > install from flash > wipe cache/delvik, reboot) My phone wouldn't connect to gmail, sync contacts, etc. So I wiped the phone in recovery, flash Franco Kernel, and reboot. then rebooted again into recovery and flashed the newest Xenon, GAPPS, clear cache/delvik, and reboot. This fixed my initial issues, but the phone seems very sluggish compared to previous versions. For instance, when I get a phone call it will ring for 3-5 seconds before the screen pops up so I can see who it is/answer the phone.
Any thoughts on what I can do different to get my phone back to "normal"?
thanks
So I've decided to start playing around with custom ROMs. I'm still pretty new to Android so maybe this is going to be stupidly simple.
Earlier today I flashed PACman Rom. Downloaded directly from the thread. I wasn't super happy with how slow it ran and a friend suggested it might be a nightly. I noticed in settings it said the release was from 09/09 so I thought he might be right. I decided to wipe it and install the most recent stable version of PAC man.
Seemed to flash just fine, but the startup was a bit odd. It didn't go through the standard stuff like syncing your google account, setting up wifi, etc. Jumped right to the home screen. At first that didn't seem like an issue. I can do that all manually. But then it flashed on screen saying AOSP keyboard couldn't launch. Obviously without being able to type at all or even open the keyboard, I can't do a whole lot to get it set up.
Tried a couple times to flash that ROM and same thing every time. Restored from my nandroid and everything worked perfectly. Decided to try CyanogenMod and got 10.2 stable release with gapps. Wiped and flashed. Same thing. Straight to the home screen, no keyboard. Every other gapp is there.
Any ideas on what I can do differently? Or what I might be doing wrong, or some way I can get this to work?
Did you flash gapps with pacman ROM?

Yes I did. And I actually just figured out what it was. I was using 4.3 gapps with 4.2.2 ROMS
Hello,
My Note 2 was stock, and I decided to root it because I was having issues with the screen turning on and wifi sometimes not connecting. I used Odin to flash TWRP, installed a number of ROMs including Cyanogen and Liquidsmooth (currently on Liquidsmooth 3.2), and everything works fine now except that Wifi won't turn on.
I read that Kit Kat has caused wifi issues for some people, so I even downgraded to Jelly Bean (CM 10.2), but that did not seem to help. Does anyone know of any fixes for this or alternatively, any Lollipop ROMs that wouldn't have this problem?
[One thing I just noticed when I was double checking that I was on 4.4.4 was that the "About" menu shows my model number as GT-N7105 even though I downloaded the ROM for the SGH-t889. If that means I installed the wrong ROM, I can restore my backup of my stock ROM and start again if needed]
Thanks in advance.
Solved!
Just wanted to post that I figured out that if I install Liquidsmooth alone first, without adding google apps, the wifi worked. In fact, I may have just been stupid to install google apps since it appears that Liquidsmooth already had google apps...
But in any case, the wifi stopped working after I rebooted, so I installed Jedi ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-2-tmobile/development/rom-jedi-source-project-4-4-4-t2895948, booted up, then went to recovery and installed the google apps for Jedi from the same link, and everything has been working great since then.
Hope this info is helpful.
