Secure booting error

Hi all, I'm from Turkey.
When I tried to install custom rom on my LG E975, i got an error called: Secure booting error.
I did those:
1)I rooted the phone
2)installed Root Manager and flash it with ClockWorkMode6.0.3.0 - after I select 'reboot into Recovery Mode' I got the error: 'Secure booting error'
3)Then I used FreeGee app. ---When I press unlock -- I got that error: 'boot md5sum mismatch error'
Now, I did'nt figure out where is the problem. I read all the document on site but I could not solve the problem.
Help please. Thank you all.

maybe you should unlock bootloader first.

I tried to unlock it with freegee but here is the error:boot md5sum mismatch. aborting.

The safest tool is freegee.Make sure you have the latest version. If you're still getting the download error, wait until shelnutt2 fixes the server. i also encountered this issue when i tried to unlock my phone. But seth helped me and all was ok.
For you i recommend you use kdz updater to flash stock rom again, then root the phone and use freegee to unlock.follow the steps correctly and you can't miss.

This is not a download error i guess. I got this error :'boot md5sum mismatch error'
Now I'm going to do this :
1-A factory reset
2- With KDZ Updater, flash stock rom again. (By the way, In KDZ I use this functions:
Type _ 3GQCT
PhoneMode_ CS_Emergency
Version_E97510F_00
3-Root the phone
4-Unlock with Freegee
Is there something wrong?

No, you are doing everything by the book.
I also got the error when i had 10C and D, this means freegee must be updated to work with 10F.

And I have a question. I bought this phone from Turkey. When I read the articles here, this phone has Korean,American,etc. kinds.
How can I know about my phone's edition? Is it Korean? or something else?

@bossfang he can't upgrade the firmware to other region. PLEASE stop talking NONSENSE. Besides, E975 has 10(a,b,c,d,e,f,g) numbering,not 20.You are talking about other device.Again, stop giving advices.I know you mean well, but please don't. All he need to do is wait until freegee is updated. It will couple of days, not the end of the world,ok? @mstph, i don't recommend bossfang's solutions. If you do it, you may endup with a brick shaped LG.

Sorry for the delay I was out of town and just saw this thread. I'll get it fixed tonight. I'm sorry for the inconvience. The problem occurs most of the time because in the XML feed I messed up the md5sum by accident when updating for additional sw versions.

Your phones are different so his solution probably won't work for you. Try the unbrick thread.

Hi riz157, i finally solve the problem: if you have the AT&T LG E980 you should look this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660 I downloaded the files and followed the instructions and I could repair my phone. I hope you find it useful as it was for me. :victory::victory:

Hi, I was searching info and I found this, i don't know if can work to solve the download mode problem reflashing the firmware. http://www.lgmobile.co.kr/lgmobile/front/download/retrieveDownloadMain.dev Where it says Optimug G Pro Upgrade, click in the option "U+" that is the AKA of the F240L. I don't understand the characters, it seem korean or something like that, but there it is a info about the LG Suppot tool, i think with this program can download the tot file or flash directly with an internet connection.

The problem I'm having is firmware I downloaded is corrupt when I try to extract tot file it gives e error message, file is corrupt.

hi..i to have lg f240l which struck in download mode .did u found any solution?can u please tell me in detail?i was dng an offline flashing(downgrading to 4.1.2)then suddenly a message came server connection failed.when i powered on it strucked in download mode.pls pls pls help!!!

You just destroyed your firmware, hope you back up your phone regularly because every data on that device is now gone. On the brighter note, since you know how to flash the rom, all you have to do is flash the device correctly and you should be good.

Sorry to hear your having issues. It's been such a long time I can't remember what worked. I did fix the issue in the end after much searching and trying but can't remember what I did.

1. connect ur phn to ur pc and install this flashtool
2.install drivers of ur mbl
3.download the kdz firmware file u want from here http://www.lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=25
4.now follow the steps provided in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
5.its better to choose cse flash as i did that(when i chosen normal flash,the update stopped saying some error.so disconneted my net connection and tried again.it worked)
6.if u follow the above steps correctly,ull get ur phn back within 6 minutes.

[Q] [HELP] my e988 bricked

2 months ago, i was updating my e988, and my phone was restarted and saying : secure booting error. cause: device unlock! , so boot success!
then my phone bootlooping at CWM but my phone still able to enter DOWNLOAD mode
i tried using LG R&D tool, and its hopeless, low battery message popped out
i tried using LG Mobile Support Tool, the result is same as the R&D tool
since my phone bootlooping in CWM, my phone cant charge its battery then i tried using external charger, when the battery's full, i tried flashing KDZ
my friend suggest me to use LG flash tool with .tot and .dll file.. i only found e988.dll file without .tot file.
and i tried using LGExtractor to make my .kdz become .dz or .tot file, but .cab file from E98810E.cab cant be read or corrupted
and i tried using CFW, and my phone still bootlooping in the CWM
im kinda hopeless right now, can someone help me? :crying:

Which version of the E988 do you have?

I believe this link has both tot and dll files for the e988 but not sure. Have a look at it, just google translate it

just find E988-Baseband-HK_Final file and install with cwm. and then you can use lg support tool but don't forget to change your country at republic of korea.

unzip and follow normal instructions on how to restore your lg g2 , just make sure you power off device after the waiting for connection and power off then back into download mode

yeah i already bricked my first lg g2, t mobile port rom did OTA (stupid me). Hard earned lession there lol. So i bought a cracked screen lg g2 model off craigs for 60 bucks.

Haha I bought an ota brick for $40 found out it was a sprint model. Upgraded from a nexus 4 after I unlocked it for T-Mobile.

I still have my Sprint ls980 (paper weight) T mobile brick however i attempted a linux fix and dude its just completely bricked lol its in QHCOMM 9001 or whatever, anyone want it lol? btw the screen is cracked.. Battery is Included in this offer

best way to get it is downgrade to zv8 and open dialer ##443336772# youll then see a toast nofication and youll see the msl
i also tried 3rd party apps they dont work to well on lg g2 downgrading is not that hard, just takes a little time so if you have patience then youll get you msl code.

and here is the lgflashtool and megalock http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Software/TOT+FlashTool/ after installing the flash tool copy megalock.dll to the install folder and overwrite download the tot file LS980ZV8_13.zip and also download the LGLS980_20130904_LGFLASHv151.dll place both tot and dll in install folder open lg flash tool select manual folder dialog will open pick the LGLS980_20130904_LGFLASHv151.dll. extract the zip file with the tot file in it, hit ok then hit the green arrow button once thats completed make sure ur phone is off and unplug from usb, push and hold the vol up and then plug the usb into device you should now be in download mode flash tool will then start installing zv8 wait till install is completed and then dial the code i provided

also backup everything unless you dont have anything to save like pictures music, etc.. this will erase everything including internal sdcard card

D851 lollipop KDZ?

I'm not new to roms and rooting/flashing but recently I bought an LG G3 on ebay. The phone model says it was an unlocked d851. I know it's the T-Mobile variant and it even says it's D851 on the system settings. It is currently on kitkat 4.4.2. The point is, I want to flash the Lollipop kdz for the T-Mobile variant but whenever I power the phone on, I get the Viaero Wireless bootloader and the phone does not have any T-Mobile apps whatsoever. Any suggestions on what I can do in this situation? Any help would be highly appreciated

You mean the Viaero Wireless boot animation.
You'll be good to go ahead and flash T-Mobile D851 ROM's since it is a true D851 device. Sounds like its pretty much been flashed with a ROM already. Have you checked to see if it has root access? If not download Root Checker and test it. If not rooted then just go through the normal root process, install the recovery, and then flash the ROM you want. You'll be good to go.

Haha indeed. But I will mention that there was no root access when it first arrived. It was completely stock. But I just wanted to make sure first since we're getting Marshmallow soon and I wanted to upadate it. I'm going to be on Cloudy for a while. Thanks for your help :good:

No problem at all. I wish I still had my G3 to play with. Right now I have the N900T Note 3 and on a Dev team for it. Too bad it's not getting official MM, but we never have a problem making unofficial things here at XDA. Lol

Would I be able to recover my phone if it was bricked if flashing the kdz went wrong? A friend of mine had the g4 from sprint and he was on a bootloop and I downloaded what was suppose to be the sprint firmware of the g4 and after flashing it there was an error and the screen is all black. Nothing lights up and it only makes a sound when plugging it to the computer but I cant go into its stock recovery or download mode. I just dont want this to happen to my g3

I can search that and get back with you. I'm actually not sure and can't give you an answer on that right now. I will let you know as soon as I find out. I've personally never run into that problem on a G3. Hopefully there is a program like Odin for Samsung devices.

Oh I actually do remember how to restore an LG if you ever get a bootloop.
You go to LG's site and download and install the LG PC Suite. Make sure to have the USB/modem drivers for your phone installed as well. Once you get the program installed, run it and plug the phone up in download mode. To do that you press and hold volume + when plugging in the usb cable. The PC Suite will recognize the phone and you click repair. Just follow the instructions after that.
That should work for the G4 as well.
