Does anyone know if it's possible, and if so, how to change the mount point of a USB flash drive connected via OTG cable?
Alternatively, does anyone know how to get the stock music app to add the usbStorage folder to the media library?
I have all my music on this USB stick and can't get the music app to add it to the library when I connect it. I have too much music to fit in the Nexus storage space.
No-one has any idea how to do this???
Hey all,
I was playing with mounting a thumb drive using an otg cable and playing mkvs from it using mx player (succsefully btw), and now when I connect my Galaxy note 2 to any computer (tried multiple) the phone charges, but does not mount as a media device within windows.
Anyone have any ideas? I tried uninstalling the app, rebooting, pulling the battery, different cords and different computers.
I can still use the OTG cable to connect to a thumb drive and play files from it, so I do not believe I have damaged the hardware...
Hello fellow xda people.
I have searched to solve this issue but couldn't find a solution.
So here's what going on.
I have received my USB OTG cable today. So I wanted to test it out. I hooked up an external hdd with external power on my phone. I was able to see and browse it in root browser. But I couldn't play any video's in .avi format with vplayer or mxplayer. Which was weird. I also couldn't start the following apps: root browser, file browser from cyanogenmod (with root permissions), mx player, vplayer. (I only tested those apps). I started root browser before plugging in the hdd. The hard drive was under /legacy/0/ (the phones internal storage). I also tried an USB stick with the same effect. But I could play a movie because it was a .mp4. I played it with stock Android videoplayer. I tried the apps stickmount and otg helper from google play but they didn't help. So I know the cable is not broken. It is a issue with my phone.
Has anyone a solution or at least can point out the problem?

What's the mount point of USB OTG storage on the disk? Since there is no way to play the music on the usb disk using Play Music app (correct me if I am wrong), I'd like to add the mount point to kodi and play it from there. Note that es-explorer is able to use Play Music app to play one mp3 at a time, but there is no playlist support or play complete folders/albums.
Any update on this? I to wild like to know. Thanks

Hello, Is there any way I can mount my OTG drive so a music app can see it, as if it was internal storage? I want to put all my music on an SD card and plug it into my phone, I can only see the contents of the OTG drive through a file explorer, any music player I tried will not see the music on the OTG drive... Is there any way to accomplish this? Are there any music players that will do this or a way to mount the OTG to do this?.
