[Q] lcd change - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

hi all!
please help!
after screen change my phone just charging at least led shows green and red light but do not switch on.I can see just white shadow for 3 sec approx.I bought lcd with digitizer mounted together.I do not know what to do...

did you do it yourself? is your screen an original spare part or a replacement?
could not be a light sensor bug because it's only active after booting android and you should at least see your bootscreen. either faulty cheap counterpart or installation gone wrong. take it to a professional phone repair center and let them fix it. that orange ribbon/connector assembly at the bottom of lcd is a very fragile part and if handled roughly during installation it could snap some ultra thin wires so signal to the leds gets through but no image.
i've done this before but I'm not an expert, maybe someone could tell if new lcd/digitizer in sony requires firmware changes? you won't do much in recovery but you can still flash something with flashtool which only requires you to see led status and one button. good luck.

Strange Desire with yellow lcd display

Hi!
I have a strange problem with one desire...
After changing the broken lcd screen, the display is very yellowish, everything witch was "white colour", is now yellow...
I have tested 4 lcd-s, changed the rom (multiple ROM-s), but same result...
Strange is even when i try to make color correction with Calibrator (calibrated-signed-42-Universal)... i can change red and green, but changing blue is not working to obtaining "white"...so it remain the same color with values (for blue) from 0 untill 1000.
Is there an another program to make color correction, or is a hardwere fault?
Any ideas?
Thanks
How exactly are you changing the "lcd"
There are two types of screen that the desire can use (depending on your model) amoLED (led!) or SLCD (super lcd). So unless you replace your screen with the correct replacement type for your specific handset your going to have strange issues.
Maybe you should take a very close look at your display, with a magnifying glass or a microscope and check if the blue sub-pixels work at all. It seems as if they don't work and you get amber colors.
I have received the phone with broken display, after power on, it was dark screen no display...so obviously i changed the lcd with the same model, wich is a Samsung (AMOLED i think), P/N: 60H00287-00.
I'm pretty sure it's the correct type of display if anything is being displayed. The problem might be the connection between the mainboard and the screen. Perhaps you've accidentally damaged it when changing the screen? Maybe you should post some pictures of your assembly showing the connection. That might let someone see the problem and suggest a solution.
if you need to understand better the problem i can upload some photos of the Desire...
The assembly is correct, i checked it, i think it`s a micro crack on the mainboard, suffered during the shock, so i will resolder the contacts... i will keep u updated...
meanwhile, i wait other opinions also..
I have found the problem...It was the filter near the lcd connctor...they are 3 filters...for each color...RGB...so after resoldering all of them, and 6 hours of work...it`s working...

Display stay white after touch screen substitution

Hallo to all!
i've already tryied to search this topic in all the forum, but didn't find anything...pls tell me if something similar already exists!
so my problem: i have a touch pro 2 (RHOD100), and the last week i broke the touch screen (due to accidental heavy pression on it)...all works, but no TS function...
so (here starts my trouble) i decide to change by myself...i bought a new one (only TS) on ebay and make the change....
no problem with the hardware change, but now my display stay white...
some consideration:
- OS start with no problem (start sound and button sound)
- all flats are plugged correctly (checked many times)
- the backlight of the lcd works well (low light after some time)
some help? maybe i forget something important?
thanks a lot in advance to any helpers!!

When you changed the touch screen did you remove the flex cable that connects the upper half of the phone to the motherboard? Are you sure you didn't break the LCD screen itself?
hallo,
yes i remove the flat, and plug back again where changed - when i press on the TS (with white screen) i can ear the "tap"
i cannot be sure, but it light on...i think is enought...or not?
thanks for you're help!

It looks like like either the flex cable got damaged or it's not plugged right. It could also be the LCD flex, where lcd plugs into the small connectors under the four buttons at the bottom of the touch screen not being connected properly. Did you lift the small levers where the flex cables go into the mother board or where the lcd/touch screen gets plugged in or did you just push them in?
i lift the lever where pull out the flex, and pull it down when restore the connection... and i'm almost sure about connection, also because them are so "stricted" in the plug himself...
but i find really strange that the lcd is on (completely white), you don't think so?
also if it is damaged, should be not white...or maybe, as you say, a flat problem?
this evening i will re-open it for a check...i don't know what else do...
maybe i will try to buy a complete kit (TS+lcd)...
i will surely let you know

The screen being white, means it's receiving power but not video signal. There coud be different reasons for that. It happened to me couple of times. What I did was lift the connector lever, pull the flex connector out (where it connects to the motherboard) just a tiny bit and secure the connector with the lever and it worked. If the flex cable is going bad it could be that just one line or two are going bad not the whole thing, thus still delivering power but not video signal.
If your problem is with the flex buying a new screen/digitizer will not fix it. When you screen is white does it go out if you slide out the keyboard?
hallo,
sorry for late answer,
i make some test with flat, but the result is the same...
the screen always stay white, but i can ear the start sound, the pression sound, etc...so it seems it's just the lcd...
maybe i can try to buy a complete set lcd+ts?
thanks for answer

I could be wrong, but I think it's the flex cable that is bad not the LCD screen itself. The flex cable has several small thin lines, what is happening is the power is getting to the LCD screen but the video signal is not, so most probably one of teh video signal lines is broken.

Hi,
Only thing I can think of is that somehow it has damaged the cable from the touchscreen or the tiny wires that feed into the cable without damaging the screen. I came across a brand new screen I was replacing once for someone that had a similar problem where the bottom left hand corner wouldn't respond to touch unless there was firm pressure on the screen to create contact, and this was a brand new screen. It could also be that the touchscreen connector needs to be pushed back onto the board if it's come a bit loose.
If this is the problem, you can fix it by yourself although I'd have a good look around youtube, there are heaps of DIY videos of how to replace screens. If you do go down this path I recommend you replace the touchscreen/LCD/LCD frame in one go, as it's generally already pre- assembled the only thing here is that there are 3 brands of LCD's HTC used with the phone and they aren't all compatible, and you can only tell by pulling down your phone and looking at the LCD flex cable colours, and the other thing is that the screens that are available aren't always the same quality as the original. If this sounds to hard your best bet is to take it somewhere and diagnose the problem just in case it's something else

Help or Suggest me (Broken Note 2)

Ok Guys, I broke my Note 2 protective glass, after some time accidentally display also break by my hands (I pushed little hard in my note screen)
now the phone is switching on but no display (when I power on the blue led blinks on top of screen and sounds when I push volume up or down)
so I sent it to Samsung care for display replacement and they charged me 6500/- Rs. After 10 days they called me and telling me that my device mainboard is defected. then I called back and asked them to put the battery on phone and switch on and they they told me that blue led blinks.
Now I don't know what to do. are they telling the truth that mainboard is damaged. did they accidentally damaged the mainboard.
Is it damaged by me when scrren broke. They are asking me for additional 8300/- total 14800/- now what should I do.
I don't think that phone can switch on after mainboard is damaged (Just Guessed not a technician)
Sorry for my bad English.

Grainy white noise screen with working touch input

Hi,
I have to following problem:
My HTC One M8 has colorful grainy static screen and sometimes the picture turns off, like a cable is loose. I read all the forums and search google all over for a solution, most of them claimed that after a panel replace it will be fine. I switched the whole front panel for a new one, but after assembly i have the same problem. The phone is working, because i can unlock the screen lock, turn off the phone, i get the notifications and everything, but the screen is just static noise. I'm assuming that maybe it is some graphic fault, but not related to the lcd panel or the cables (they are all brand new, and i double checked all of them). Is the logic board responsible for the image? What should i try to replace next the upper motherboard, or the middle logic board?

I've got the exact same thing here.... Searched a lot around without finding anything that has resolved my case. I ordered a replacement screen for a cracked screen on the first phone, but when I tested the LCD before I assembled everything together it was showing just noise like in your picture. I assumed the LCD was bad, so I ordered a new one. But the new one was acting exactly the same.
Yesterday, I was approached by another one who needed help with their M8, and that phone needed to have its volume buttons replaced. So, I reused the parts from the old M8, but when I booted the phone after repair, it showed this same noisy screen as the first M8 I tried to repair. Anyone here that knows these phones and what is going on here? I'm pretty sure I have 3 working LCD's here now, and suspect something strange going on with the mainboard or controller for screen.
Anyone?
