Hello All,
Suddenly yesterday around noon my phone suddenly stopped receiving MMS messages.
However, I am able to send MMS, and Send/Receive SMS.
I've used 2 different APNs (both of which worked previously): phone & pta.
Any insight would be helpful, AT&T says I need a new simcard.
Are you using an Ad blocker? These have been known to block MMS as well.

Disabled AdAway. Still nothing
Textra said it was an issue with my APN settings, but they're correct.

I'd suggest uninstalling AdAway then rebooting the phone, as long as you make a backup of the app you can restore it.
If that doesn't work I'd suggest making a rom backup then flashing a new rom to see if it works.

Ok here goes...I have a rooted Note 3 ..I am running Jedi Elite...I just did the root and ROM on Monday ..As of Thursday I have been unable to send any MMS Messages, I can receive them, but when they are sent they show leaving the phone, but there is no Delivery, just says requested...I called ..Tech Support at TMobile, and they have the engineers on it after changing some settings and having me do a restart which did nothing for the problem..This morning the tech told me that other Note 3 phones are having this issue and had to be returned and traded in..
Has anyone had this problem with the Note 3? Could it have something to do with the Root or the ROM? I am really getting frustrated with not being ale to use MMS and this is the last resort...I was not sure where to psot this so here it is ...As far as I know as of this morning the engineers are still working on this problem...MMS Messaging worked fine until Thursday which tells me that it isn't in the programming of the phone...this is my first time rooting..so if anyone has any ideas on what might be going on I would appreciate it..thx in advance!
UPDATE: Just found out from a friend that MMS messages are going thru now, but phone is not showing DEL REPORT...meaning it is not showing hitting the tower or wherever they go ...I have del report req...always got one with the Note 2..
check your APN settings. I always change the default settings to: default, admin, dun, supl, mms. Ever since Hangout w/ SMS came out, I've never had to use the default SMS app again.
I have had this problem before. Are you running any ad blockers? Try disabling them and send MMS. It fixed it for me when I had this problem.

Reboot works for me
Sent from far far away
Having the same issue no one receives pictures I send them I disabled the ad blocker in hopes of fixing the problem
I was having random issues with mms only for a while. A restart usually fixed it, but I also started having regular network issues. The phone would connect to the tower, and I had data, but it was very slow, or would timeout. I tried to check the APN settings, and see that the stock ones are greyed out, and you can't edit them, so I added the old standard one, and now everything works perfect. Here is what I added in case anyone wants to know.
Has anyone had any problems not receiving sms messages until the device is rebooted? There are times where the phone will function just fine until I restart it and see that text messages are flooding in. This is only happening on the Note 3 and not the Nexus 5 which is also under t-mobile.

What did you do
TWEAKED N3
I've noticed if I toggle WiFi calling off instead of reboot, texts will download. The only problem with leaving WiFi calling off, is that MMS/picture messages won't send or receive. Also group messaging will not be in a group thread until WiFi calling is toggled back on.
The obvious questions anyone asks should have the most obvious answer. What is your ROM, KERNEL. what tweaks did YOU improvised

I would look to see if you restricted background data of your sms apps or any sync apps. It sounds like you restricted something hence why it syncs on reboot.

It would not sync on reboot if the apn settings weren't correct if I'm not mistaken
Nothing has been restricted as far as apps go. This is on the stock rom, never rooted 4.4.2 KK. I tried adding APN settings manually, but received same results. If this isn't been an known issue with anyone else, I think a factory reset may be in order.

Yeah, fdr is likely next best step
Try changing your network apn settings to ip v4/v6. I was having the same issues, and this fixed it.

Power cycle the device by turning off for 30 seconds and then on again. I hope it will help!!!!!!!!
What's wrong asking him about the factory reset?

If you recently used an iOS device with the same number you have on your Galaxy Note 3, then reset your iMessage via your Apple account. That should do it.
If it’s a different issue, then I am left to assume what happened to your phone. I don’t even know if you can send a text message just fine or not. But if you can and are using a third-party messaging app, please try disabling it first to see if that would solve the problem. It could be just a little messed up setting.
If, however, you can’t send and receive text messages, call your service provider or carrier first and have your SIM card checked.

Factory reset was not required. I was able to correct this by leaving wifi-calling enabled, but setting the wifi-calling preference to cellular preferred. So far so good, been about a week now with no issues.
I know that the SGS5 received an update recently to fix sms/mms issues, so I don't know if the same would ever be pushed to the note 3.
Hey guys….I can receive SMS and MMS messages and emails. Everything is working great. Except…i cannot send SMS/MMS messages…..
Anyone see this before?
Are you using the stock Messaging app?
I'm having problems with some 3rd party options and working with a dev on it right now.
Edit: The obvious thing to check would be your APN configuration.
What carrier you on?
Have you registered your phone with your carrier? I reckon my carrier (Vodafone PT) won't recognize the Oppo, so i might have to go to a Vodafone shop and have that sorted out, i want my 4G LTE.

Thanks Guys....I was using the 8SMS messaging app from KitKat. That was the problem. The issue went away when I switched back to the stock messaging app....
Thanks for all the help!
Hah yep, 8sms no go for me either.
I've spoken with a dev and sent them a logcat of the issue, hopefully they can make some headway.
I finally found Textra works great and HIGHLY recommend over stock Messages app. Give it a shot if not already familiar.
I have a question. I'm on Vodafone PT with a data plan. When i receive my Find 7a, will it work flawlessly with the carrier? I mean, 4G speeds out of the bat, MMS and SMS, etc? Or will i have to go to the carrier to sort it out. It's because, with all these threads on different forums about carrier issues i became really confused.
I can recieve messages but my problem is I cant send messages
Am I the only person experiencing MMS problems? I have always had MMS problems, pictures won't download, MMS won't send. I have been running mostly CM or other custom roms on my S4 for several years. I attributed my problems to the custom roms, maybe APN problems. I have been running stock OE2 for a couple days on my S6, and have already had similar MMS problems. Is this just the way it is on Sprint or do I have a fundamental problem with the app I am using? I have been using Hangouts. Is there something better or is this the best I can expect? All my family members have iPhones and never have any MMS problems. Not going there, but I am pretty feed up with Sprint, android, or Hangups MMS problems.
Hey I was just about to post something about this. I believe the issue is with googles messaging apps (Hangouts or messenger). For some reason both of these apps are determined to use mobile data to send MMs. This often times flat out doesn't work and you end up with MMS messages not coming through. Even when you are connected to wifi it will still try and send the MMS over mobile data.
However if you use the stock samsungs stock messaging app MMS sends MMS over wifi and is much better at sending and receiving over mobile data.
I am not sure why this is happening. Probably something with APNs. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make googles messaging apps work well with MMS let us know !

@balistic2 thanks. I really like Hangouts, but don't like the MMS issue. I am going to switch to stock Samsung for awhile to see if it is any better.
Ya hangouts is great b/c is puts all your gchats and text into one conversation. However when I get an MMS it is awful.

Not if it is a hangouts issue. No problems so far on stock messenger, but too early to tell.
Ya something in Hangouts/Google Messenger doesn't use the correct APNs. To try it yourself get on wifi. Send an MMS with the samsung stock messaging app. Watch to see if your mobile data becomes active. (it shouldn't b/c you are on wifi). Now do the same thing with hangouts/Google Messenger while on wifi. Does your mobile data turn on when trying to send a MMS via a google app?

I highly recommend Textra. Can't recommend it enough actually. It's smooth, pretty, and works with MMS over WiFi. Set it up like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9pwu3qth7x6rvxk/Screenshot_2015-07-11-10-50-45.png?dl=0

Thanks. Will give it a try.
Hi
I had the same issues as every one with not being able to send or receive mms.Believe me when i say i tried everything out there to no avail
My solution/problem was a very easy fix (after weeks of trial and error)Go to settings then data usage then turn mobile data on
you should see a graph with your usage. All you do is adjust your data usage to say 9 gig or something high and that is it
What i can gather why this works is because if your data is set at say 2 gig it restricts what can be downloaded ie mms
Good luck i hope this helps
Also try calling: ##update#
This will update your PRL and such, it could help

Been using Textra for a long time... It is probably the best app out there.
Anyone else having issues with MMS working since the latest update? I updated to NX659J_ECommon_V3.13 and ever since I can't get my MMS working. Everything else works like SMS and internet, but I can't send picture messages or group text. Before the update I was able to send MMS just fine, but I had stopped using the phone for about 2 months. This is because there were to many issues with the OS for me to use it as my daily driver (no custom Launchers, can't have battery percentage in the notification bar, NFC didn't work with google pay, no face unlock). I saw that this update fixed all these things, so I quickly grabbed my phone and updated to it. And I can say that all of those issues have been resolved (well I don't know about google pay as I haven't gone to the store yet to test, but I guess it is). The thing is now, my MMS doesn't work. I have gone through all the messaging settings on the phone and looked at my APNs and made sure they were correct. Spent an 1 1/2 hour on the phone with T Mobile going over those same settings and APNs yesterday. I'm pretty sure the issue is the phone/update because the SIM works fine in my other phones. I really am hoping for another update or that someone has a quick fix because I would really like to make this phone my main phone. It's a great phone, with a good build quality and get specs. I got 5G on this thing and with the custom launcher, all the grips about the OS are pretty much mute. But it just seems to always have 1 (or more things) that don't work. Anyone else dealing with this or have any ideas? Below are my phone specs.
Model: NX659J
Red Magic OS: V3.0
Build Number NX659J_ENCommon_V3.13
Launcher: Nova Launcher
Message App: Messages by Google
Cellular Provider: T-Mobile
I'm on ATT in SoCal and am not having any issues with MMS.
Have you installed any VPN or ad block apps?
MMS working fine in Canada with v.3.13 - I'm using Textra though, but I'm sure Messages is working fine too.
APN settings would be my first suspect, otherwise, double check your carrier has it enabled for your account.

Nope. I had a couple different messaging apps on it, so I uninstalled those to make sure that those weren't causing the issue. I might just do a factory reset on it.

I did all of the APN settings check and I have MMS enabled on my account. I ended up just doing a factory reset on the phone and now everything works. Thanks for you suggestions.
Hello everyone, I'm in Canada and as soon as I did the software upgrade to 3.13 3 days ago I can no longer connect to my mobile network for data and mms, calls and text work,WiFi is fine so far, I did a factory reset. I did call my provider and double checked that all was good on their end and apparently it is, except the fact that my EMEI number from my phone can not be entered on their system. I was wondering if that is the problem. Also setting up APN address does not work I get an error message " carrier does not allow APNs of type *. Any ideas of what is going on...
Thanks everyone
