Hi
Due to low internal memory, I decided to flash my sister's HTC WFS with new firmware which supports int2ext+. Tried with "stock rom by crossfire 77" and "Marvellous Sense3.5 by Kevinjoa" (both great roms :good: ) but on both appeared the same problem. After installation of int2ext+ and first reboot - everything go OK (everything from google play install without error, everything runs nice), but after second reboot downloaded apps dissapear or "force close" window pop up (google play show only install option - not run or uninstall on apps that was already installed). What should i do ? Or what i do wrong ? Before installation of new firmware, everything was wiped, sd card has two partition (FAT32 ~ 7GB, EXT ~ 1GB - partitioned by CWM and formatted). Phone shows in settings ~ 700 MB of free internal memory. Please help.

Hi i had a similar problem i've installed on my htc WFS CyanogenMod10.1-20130703-4.3-F-NIGHTLY-marvel and CronMod-INT2EXT4+_signed to have more space on my device.
Everything went smooth till i restarted the device oan when it booted the aplications that i installed disapired from the system well the system didnt see them even that the icons where on sreen.
Try to flash again that mod int2ext and see if the aplication returns.
I did that and it helped.
The problem is that if i turn the "Advanced Restart" whenever i restar the HTC the aplications disapir and when the option is turn off the aplications are there and working.
Sorry for my english

Do you mean "quick turn on" in power settings ? ( I turned this option off - still problem remains, even if i reinstall int2ext+)
I cannot find anything called advanced restart.

What rom can You recommend ? The best would be without bugs :victory: camera must working and int2ext+ must be supported.

I am using Marvellous Sense 3.5 right now, it has barely any bugs...
For the best bugless rom you could flash stock (marvellous sense 2.1 or the perfectly stock rom with extra features). They all work perfectly with int2ext

Tried with both you mentioned (now is Marvellous Sense 3.5) - without solution. Maybe my HTC WFS is weird (maybe its 2012 edition, but how to check it ? )

I dunno how to check, but if you have 2012 wfs, it should not even boot except if you have the right kernel. Maybe you have a faulty sdcard?

Ok i recomend you the rom that i use : CyanogenMod 10.1-20130703-4.3-F-NIGHTLY-marvel plus cron mod.
I have that rom and it works fine but you must remember "do not turn the advance power setting on" if you turn it on every time you restart your WFS you lose your data.
You can find the rom on this forum just look for it
If you need any help with it just send me a message i help you with it.
Thanks for all replies - I solved problem yesterday.
This is what i used to do (errors appears after that):
1. Wipe everything using recovery,
2. Flash new rom (Sense 3.5 wit int2ext+ ),
3. Partition SD card using ClockWordMod 5.0.2.8 (1GB Ext 3, rest Fat32).
4. First reboot everything works great,
5. Next reboots - errors and FC appears. - STOP
This is what i made yesterday (no errors):
1. Partition SD card using MiniTool Partition (750 MB Ext4, rest Fat32),
2. Wipe everything using recovery (SD card not inserted because: 1st - I format it in MiniTool Partiton. 2nd - to eliminate clockworkmod format error ?)
3. Insert SD card and flash new rom (again Sense 3.5 with int2ext+).
4. EVERYTHING WORKS (even after multiplie reboots, with fastboot option enabled) NO ERRORS - yupii
Now other questions - what I made wrong in the past ?
- Partition was too big ?
- Ext3 filesystem caused this errors ?
- ClockWordMod 5.0.2.8 has bug in format option ?

First of all when i wrote you the problem with advance reboot i meen not the option in regular settings.
I wrote you about Cyanogenmod in this rom there is an option that coused problems.
I recommend you to format your card with minitool with every rom you want to flash next time.
I am certain that the clockwork format is failing becouse the only thing you changed was formating the card with minitool.
Every time i try new rom i format my card with minitool and i have no problems with any rom (if the rom has no bugs itself)
I've once made partitions with clockwork and then my rom has several problems so i use minitool from then.
Right now i have 8gb card and i always do the same partitions : 1st Fat32 (about 5700mb) 2nd Ext3 (about 1100mb) 3rd Linux swap (rest of the card ) and everything and all the roms i'm flashing goes well and without any problems.
If you want to reduce the time to whipe everything on your WFS i recommend you SuperWipeMarvelcEdition when you flash it you format and whipe everything from your HTC.

Anyone experienced that, the system is not able to mount the E: (SD-EXT) after flashed the ROM. Here is what I was doing.
1) I use PartedMagic to setup the following
6.4GFAT32+1.5G EXT4+ 0.4G EXT4+ 0.2 SWAP (appox size.)
2) in the recovery loader, I tested I can mount the SD-EXT without any problems and that I flashed the ROM.
3) After the process done, I started the new MOD and let the system run by itself for the 1st 10mins for him to settle down.
4) I try to reload the data and apps, and seem the system become unstable..so I reboot (my 1st reboot)
5) load the recovery loader, and the SD-EXT is not about to mount again....
Can anyone help please ??
However, I have try to format FAT32+EXT4... Still the EXT4 is not able to mount..
Thx
Redo your partitions with gparted and the card in a card reader. If you don't have a card reader make sure the phone is in recovery while partitioning.

I am now using
RCMixHD v3.0, 1.84.661.1 /D2WE/
FAT+EXT3..
so far so good but abit laggy... and I hope I can go for 2DEXT

hope someone can help..
Please ask the rom developer if his kernel supports ext4, this is not available by default !
Make sure to erase the cells before formatting in Ext, and then, run melethron's alignment script. It helps much.

- I doubt RCMixHD stock kernel allows mounting/formatting Ext4 (through Recovery). I've never had success.
- D2W is mainly for space. It lags and delays quite heavily if you have a SD card below Class 6 (or if the partition is near full, many cells dirty or many pages partially full). I think Melethron's Ext alignment script runs automatically with the v3.0 version of that ROM when you install it. I haven't had the free time to check his latest script, just got out from having a 2h operation.

you need to install the a2sd option,ad2sdx is only supported for cm7/r2 hboot, also you do not have a swap on this rom
Where do i find this a2sd option, and do i start it in recovery mode? and another question,
cm7/r2 hboot what is the different? and i see there is 1 IMG file and 1 .Zip file.

Dont use a windows program to partition a sd card for android. Use Gparted or 4ext recovery. You dont need a swap partition. If you still on stock when installing the RoM select custom install and then select app2sd option. If you have CM7/r2 Hboot you can then use the xd2sdx.
CM7/r2 is a Nand partition that makes the data part bigger then stock, on stock after fresh install of a RoM you left with 150MB for apps on CM7/r2 its 287mb.
On xd2sdx version all system files stay on this Nand data and your ext4 becomes the storage data so when you look at phone storage you will see what ever your ext4 size is 1.5GB free

Most of the times this is a matter of incompatible or too slow SD-Card. Are you using A2SD or AD2SDX? And what kind of SD-Card? Make and Class are important.

Hey Guys,
I have a CM7 R2 Hboot and used the Runnymede AIO 3.0.5 with XD2SDX (and it works perfectly) before. But when I try to install the New ROM I can not choose the AD2SDX.
In addition, after Installation, the Desire is not starting, it hangs in Boot Animation for one hour.
Whats the problem?
And, what is more worse, I tried to recover my old Image and It's not working..
So now I have a problem.. Anyone can help me?

The new installer detects your Hboot automaticly. Some people have problem there. This issue will be solved shortly.
The use your backup you need a full wipe before restoring. It should definitely work.
Good luck.

Should be solved with 4.0.3
Greets, Magpie
Hey Guys
My friend has a Wildfire S.. We have S-offed it.. and put custom recovery.. CWM 5.0.2.8 .. Questions are
1) Is that good or latest recovery? or something better?? like TWRP ?
2) We have drilled down to three ROM's we can see..
CM10.1 4.2.1
CM10 4.1.2
CM7 2.3.7
We had tried CM10.1 but felt a bit sluggish.. slowish.. probably needed to do something more...
which rom is good out of the three or any other??
(we don't care about the usb tethering not working or camcorder recording etc).. should not be sluggish although.. won't say it will be lightning fast either.. I know the phone is quite old and limited..
3) We saw internal memory used 100MB and left only 20MB.. obviously we need to increase that.. we have a 12GB Card.. Now..
Do we need to format to ext4 ? full Card or partition? how much? what with the rest of the partition ?
Then which one to use for data to SD by default? Do we use INT2EXT4+ as mentioned in CM10.1 guide?
Is that compatible with all the ROM's or others above
We can currently format so just want to set it up correctly first time.. dont want to get it wrong..
any answers will be great!!
Cheers
Actually you posted in wrong section.. This should goes to Q/A section.... and yeah these questions have asked many times... Try search before posting...
Anyway... there is a touch type CWM recovery available(search in development section)... but 5.0.2.8 is used by most of the users, cuz no one need more than that....
Try cm9 roms... like MIUI, Paranoid Android ICS, Speed Droid... Those are great and quite stable and of course fast...
and for SD Card tweaks.. ext2 and ext4 are best... But for cm9, cm10 ext4 partition is preferred (idk why)...
make a second partition using minitool as ext4 and make it as primary (imp - not as logical)... then flash the int2ext+ (or) int2ext4+ script after you flashed the rom...
note that int2ext4+ is only for ext4 type partition and int2ext+ is for all ext2,3,4 type partitions... You can partition you sd card upto 2 GB ... cuz it is stable limit..
Yes int2ext scripts works with all roms....
Thanks for that..
So CM10 rom is not going to be quick?? which is good in Gingerbread then?
So I should format the 12GB card into 1) primary ext4 of 2GB and 2) leave the rest as FAT32??
then
1) Wipe everything
2) Install custom ROM
3) Install int2ext+
4) reboot
5) get into recovery again
6) install gapps
7) reboot??
missing anything?? also do i need custom kernel etc?? which one if so??
Flash the JellyKing rom by kantry. It is a smooth and stable cm 10 rom. There is eoghan's kernel in that rom so you don't have to flash a kernel.
Everything else like you listed it in the last post.

so is that generally best atm.. and any recommendation on custom recovery??
so
1) wipe
2) format 2GB ext4 in sd card as primary and rest as fat32?? or any other?? both primary??

4) install int2ext+
5) reboot
6) install gapps

yeah.let me clear about partition of sdcard:
for int2ext scripts
1) FAT32
2) ext3 or ext4 (as per custom rom, some rom wont work with ext4 but cm9 and cm10 will do)
for link2sd
1)FAT32
2)ext3 or ext4
3)linux swap partition(as per your phone RAM,512 MB is enough)
int2ext scripts dont require swap partition as per their description in main post.all partition should be primary, and 1 GB is enough but if you want 2 GB its ur choice but dont partition more than 2 GB,and yeah int2ext+ script uses 100 MB internal memory for 500 MB ext3/ext4 so if you partition 2 GB,your 400 MB internal space will be consumed..
you can directly partition you sdcard with help of minipartition tool on your computer.
and for you clearance linux swap partition is work as your backup rom.some cache will save on that partition so your phone speed wont slow.
Thanks..
Considering (in terms of preference)
1) JellyKing
2) Paranoid Android
3) Speed Droid
Any suggestions between the three?
Also I am planning to use in2ext+ with the following
1) 1st Partition - Primary 1.5GB ext4 (Read maximum should be 2GB so just being safe?)
2) 2nd Partition - Primary 14.5GB FAT32
So
1) Do the partition structure and size look good ?
2) Do all these roms support int2ext+ (I think so on reading)..
3) Do I create a swap partition as well? if so which order and how much? (reading suggests 500MB).. whats the advantage? any additional thing to be used for install? how to check if it worked as it should?
So after doing that.. I should
1) Wipe everything
2) Install ROM
(reboot or not after that??)
3) install int2ext+
4) Reboot and see if rom detects internal memory properly?
5) back into recovery and install gapps and reboot
Does all of this sound good??
Need to do this in an hr or 2 so quick reply will be appreciated

sorry for late reply but my internet sucks.
first install speedroid.its fast,stable.i m using it s.:cyclops:
another reasons are jellyking is based on JB,which has many little bugs despite camcorder and all.and paranoid has dockbar and dpi size is very small so i dont like it.but its upto you what you want.
and use int2ext4+
its very fast and better than int2ext+ and yeah all cm9 and cm10 roms supports it.
partitions are good, you can use 1.5 GB ext4 but keep it 1 GB for caution purposes.might you dont need 1.5 GB belive me.
and yeah swap partition isn't need in int2ext4+ scripts but you have 16 GB memory card so keep swap partition 512 MB.
swap is work as backup RAM,its 512 MB because wildfire s has 512 MB ram.
steps:
1)wipe everything
2)install rom
3)install int2ext4+
4)go to "mount and storage"
5)format /sd-ext (its needed to format your sd-ext partition)
6)reboot
its take little long time to boot because we installed int2ext4+ script.then you can check internal memory.
then reboot in recovery again and install gapps.
and yeah if you wanted to install speeddroid, gapps already installed in it so no need to flash it.
need quick help.. have done everything and shows internal memory fine and have put speed droid
but i am installing gapps-jb-20120726-lite-rebased.zip and reboot but not a single gapps showing in phone.. it flashes fine as well..
partition
1) fat32 12GB
2) ext4 - 2000MB
3) swap - 500MB
using int2ext4+

I dont think cm has any a2sd script by default. You need to flash one such as m2sd or a2sd, or you could use the s2e app from the play store.

Download this and flash this script from recovery:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48303918/apps_dalvik2ext-UNSIGNED.zip
It moves data/app and dalvik cache to sd-ext.

Heres a quick way to make your phone good:
Ok now this is what i would advise: Install the Oxygenr2 hboot, full wipe, install milwild redux rom. This will give you 332mb for app data, and the apps (apks) and dalvik cache will be stored on your sdext partiton.
1. Download the oxygenr2 hboot here. Rename the file to PB99IMG.zip and then follow this guide to install it. When you go into your bootloader it should now say 'Alpharev Oxygen r2' at the top...this means that it was installed successfully.
2. Download Milwild Redux rom from here and put it on your sdcard.
3. Go into 4ext recovery > wipe | format > format all partitions (except sdcard) *This will wipe everything on your phone except your sdcard stuff like pics, music, video, etc.*
Go back to the 4ext main menu > install from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > browse to where you copied the rom, and click on it to install
4. Reboot. You should now have milwilds redux rom installed, and apps will automatically be moved to your sdcard partition. App data will remain on the internal so you will eventually run out of space, but it should take much longer than it used to.

No problem. The rom i linked you to is definitely just as stable & fast as official cm7, if not more.
That combination (milwild redux + oxygen r2 hboot + 1gb ext4 ext partition) is great for stability and lots of room for apps.
hmmmm i did al the installations but its still stuck on the loading screen of htc it wont start the milwild redux rom kinda strange... can you help me out ?

Ok, I followed the stepts for fortmatting my sd card and partitioning 1 gig of the 32 gig's i have in 4ext becaus this is the fastest option i heard/readed. But whene i try to boot my phone after ive done this i get the htc loading screen over and over again the only way i get to boot my phone normaly is whene i take the sd card out... and if i format the sd card and put it back in my phone it boots normaly. Anny hints on what the problem could be ? thanks for helping me this far !
I am using Beanstalk rom Release 2, on my HTC Desire Bravo, The rom works perfectly fine, but I am facing some issues ,The internal memory fills up and there is no space for new apps to be install and Insufficient memory error message appears when i tried to install other apps, I do both the options as described in the thread ::
"" Install Mounts2SD - Manual method:
- Install Mounts2SD app through the play store
- Open Mounts2SD > Menu > Application Settings > Install Startup Script
- Click the wrench icon in Mounts2SD. Under the Content header, enable Applications and Dalvik Cache.
*Dont be confused by that fact that they seem to already seem to be checked. They are not. You must click on them so that the checkmark become green*
*Grey checkmark = disabled. Green checkmark = enabled*
- Reboot (might take a while)
OR
Install Mounts2SD - Easy method:
- Flash this zip (h_t_t_p://www.mediafire.com/download/3y4n4bbd9ga93zu/M2SD_Apps%2BDalvik.zip)
- Reboot (might take a while)
But i still got low memory error and my second problem is when i tried to reply sms from status bar with quick reply option rom crashes and the phone reboots.
I want to post that on that thread as a reply but unfortunately it said that "You don't have the rights to do so"
The Rom thread is: h_t_t_p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2651790 (Remove the underscores from http, as i don't have the rights to post a link too )
Plz help !!

Did you partition your sd card as per the instructions in the first post?
You will also gain a little more space by flashing the 250/5/182 hboot in the same post (search for a guide how to flash them, I recommend via fastboot)
Is this actually related to the process of partitioning ?
---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:42 PM ----------
I have a desire s-off.. I installed the beanstalk R2 just a while back.. Installation went smooth..everything works fine with all already noted problems..
the real problem is coming with mounts2sd installation.. tried the app from playstore.. it did not install the script saying the deice is s-on.. My desire bootloader still shows s-off and am on 4ext which requires s-off.. i tried flashing the zip which also failed.
i then tried the older version of mounts2sd.. still the same error..
finally i tried links2sd in desperation which also refused installation of the script..
what seems to be the problem here ? I cant move forward without a2sd support.
It has everything to do with partitioning.
Mount2sd or any a2sd method requires a correctly partitioned sdcard.
So guess I may as well ask you too...did you partition your sdcard as per the instructions in the first post?
I partitioned the sd card a long time back through PC method.. It worked all well with all the roms which provide a2sd script inbuilt.. never faced any problem.
If at all the partitioning wasnt correct then how did the script work all those times?
SOLVED
The problem was insufficient space on system partition so the script wont get installed..I am using a custom 225 hboot.. The mounts2sd app kept giving error about s-on which misdirected the whole issue.
A short but immensely interesting and informative thread
Lessons learned
1. There are no issues with formatting cards under windows provided the card is good and the format settings are correct. (check the settings not the tool)
2. Utilities are just as crap at understanding what went wrong as we are
3. We as often get to the right answer for the wrong reasons, as the wrong answer for the right reasons
Thank You chaps. Entertaining and enlightening.

I partitioned memory card as directed by using 4ext recovery , and i always did the same with a2sd script roms , and they worked perfectly fine.
First Mounts2sd says your device is S on, then i again run and then it goes all well, But after installing some apps insufficient space message appears, what to do ????
