[Q] Multi Window Disappeared - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I don't know why, but my multi window just disappeared! I tried change the ROM from XXDME6 to DMG1, wipe data, cache and dalvik, restore with Odin, uncheck and check the option in Settings/Display/Multi Window, nothing appears to solve the problem. I used to use it, but it simply is gone. When I hold the back button it does nothing, no sidebar. Anyone know how to fix it? :crying:

Problem is all the 4 buttons didn't work no LED light and no function.
I have the kernel version of 2.6.35.11. Which one you think is good.

None of the unlock apps from the market work on the T-mobile/Telus version of the sgs2, so maybe that might be the problem? Try uninstalling it..
Or try wiping dalvik cache?
If that doesn't work, backup the apps and stuff using titanium backup and flash the rom/kernal again (factory wipe, wipe dalvik cache and other cache)
Yeah try uninstalling that app then reboot into recovery and clear your dalvik cache.

Alright well then you're going to have to do a full wipe and re flash the ROM.
Not positive that will work, but it's your only option at this point. If that doesn't work, it might be a hardware problem.
EDIT: I guess you could try clearing both caches and flashing the same ROM without a full wipe.

any idea how to do that

Put the ROM on the root of your external sd card, reboot into recovery, go to backup/restore and do a backup, wipe data, clear cache, go to advanced and clear dalvik, go to install zip from sd, choose zip from sd, then click on the ROM .zip file.
Let me know if you need help.

Damn, definitely call Tmobile and get a replacement sent out. Just make sure to return your phone to stock before sending it back. Tell them you have already done a factory reset to save yourself some time.

Hi ken,
I did the exact same thing that you did. I was trying to unlock my Tmobile Galaxy S2 with that very same app and after that ,,,boom,,, the soft buttons all stopped working... no lights at all...I'm only able to use the touchscreen but not the buttons. I've researched a lot and a lot of people have suggested flashing different kernels and I've done that too but haven't been able to fix it even till today. Please let me know if you've figured it out. Thanks.

do the buttons work when you are in recovery?? If they work there then, it is a ROM issue, if they don't work in recovery, time to warranty exchange ...

Reflash your rom. Don't wipe data before doing so and odds are you will be fine. Make Nandroids!

I just reflashed again with odin and it's the same, plus i made a nandroid but I didn't put on the computer and ended up deleting it. I'll just try something other than a odin flashable image..

You didn't flash the updated ROM. Ending in LJC. Just flash the update if you want.

[Q] Back button doesn't start Multi Window

I have installed latest CleanROM 4.5 successfully.
However long pressing the back button doesn't open the Multi Window Display.
I have previously installed the WanamLite ROM successfully and the same problem occurs.
I should also say that a few weeks back I installed the Omega ROM which did mess up my phone eg. no phone reception from my provider.
Also I get the message: `factory test has stopped working`
Any ideas on how this can be fixed.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, did that also.
Omega rom has simplistic framework doesn't it ?
And you must have got a control app for it.
Check it's settings.
There was an option related to this.

[Q] Wifi won't turn on

Hi,
After I installed a custom rom i decided that I wanted to go back to stock 4.2.2. I installed it via odin, but now my wifi won't turn on. The whole reason I switch to a custom rom was that i wasn't receiving text messages mainly mms messages. Does anyone know a fix for this?
Thanks
Have you done a full wipe since odining back to stock? At least cache and dalvik.

Missing some samsung features after installing stock firmware

Hi,
I had a problem were my device was a demo ex when I baught it but then i installed a stock rom and almost everything is working.
The problem is that I cannot have a lock screen since that option is gone from settings and I don´t have multi window or what its called.
Is there some way to fix that?
*EDIT*
I installed the UK version of the stock rom if that has something to do with it.
Did you completely format internal storage after flashing a stock ROM?
What I would recommend:
Flash TWRP (if you haven't already)
Reboot into TWRP and do an advanced wipe, wipe everything except for the external SD card
Reboot into download mode and use Odin to reflash a stock ROM.
