Missing some samsung features after installing stock firmware - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi,
I had a problem were my device was a demo ex when I baught it but then i installed a stock rom and almost everything is working.
The problem is that I cannot have a lock screen since that option is gone from settings and I don´t have multi window or what its called.
Is there some way to fix that?
*EDIT*
I installed the UK version of the stock rom if that has something to do with it.

Did you completely format internal storage after flashing a stock ROM?
What I would recommend:
Flash TWRP (if you haven't already)
Reboot into TWRP and do an advanced wipe, wipe everything except for the external SD card
Reboot into download mode and use Odin to reflash a stock ROM.

Yes but under Settings > Device > Personal there should be a option that say Lock Screen. And when i search for lock screen all I can do is sett wallpaper for it.
See this SS: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vzlsz98an1299z5/DSC_1002.JPG?dl=0
Its gone. And as you can see there is a option with multiwindow but the samsung app for it is gone

Yes first do a nandroid backup, then a full wipe, flash the new leedroid, reboot and let the new rom boot, when you get to the setup screen DONT SETUP THE DEVICE, instead hold the power button and choose reboot to recovery, go to the nandroid menu and choose advanced restore, now just restore data (if your using apps2sd you should restore the sd ext too) once restored reboot, you rom should be exactly how it was but with newer rom version

Thanks very much. So it's a reboot once the fist screen appears after the rom has installed? I think its the language confirmation?

If you just flash a newer version on top of the old one, you should not see anything for language confirmation. Your system files will be updated leaving your custom settings untouched.

The 2nd way only works if the rom has the same base, my method has the advantage of a full wipe before flash, it will also work with going to diffrent roms, say leedroid to arhd

Can you just confirm that the setup screen where you hold the power button is where the phone asks you to confirm the language?

Yeah when it asks you your language or network, its only cuz all your settings will get overwritten when you restore your /data partition anyway, but you can go through the setup before you resrore if you really want

Which recovery are you using? You don't have to be rooted to flash a ROM. Try re-downloading the ROM and install it again.

When you say you can't access the SD card, do you mean when you hook your phone up to the computer? Even when you go into TWRP mounts and storage and press mount USB storage? If you can't do that you are going to have to Odin flash the stock firmware with your PC.

ok guys im very frustrated. this is my 3rd s4 and i just want to know what im doing wrong, im on a tmobile phone. so when i get my s4 i immediately root it via twrp method, then i go and find i good stock rom to flash, my favorite is wicked rom, i get the rom, putt it on the external sd card, flash the rom and flash ktoonsez kernel, it reboots and the rom works fine no problems, until i try and reboot, then it just hangs on the samsung galaxy s4 boot screen, and it then starts to bootloop without ever going back on, ive tried flashing multiple stock roms and even leaving the kernel stock and tried different kernels without any luck, i can odin back to stock and it works fine, also i can flash any aosp rom and i dont have any reboot issues, this has happened with every phone, im at a loss and i have no idea what im doing wrong, clearly something, i need help. please help guys

Just some quick questions. What model is your phone? Which TWRP did you flash? Did you check the md5 checksum of the rom and kernel zips?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Model SGH-M919, I've tried twrp 2.5 and 2.6, mostly use 2.5 because I have issues with 2.6 and yes I've checked them multiple times, re-download them both multiple times as well
Use cwm, both versions of twrp are bugged or something is wrong with it. Cwm will do the trick for you

I encountered the same problem, go to KTweaker if you are still using ktoonsez kernel. And change your settings to this.
Make sure you set it to on Boot as Immediately & save the settings. Same thing happened to me, I put in his settings and problem vanished.
After you do that, turn it off and go to recovery. Wipe Dalvik Cache & Cache than finally Fix Permissions in Advanced.

+1 you're having an issue with the kernel you're using.
Are you using exFAT 64gb sd card? If you are, take it out and your phone will boot fine.
Sent from My S4 in BEASTMODE
Ok. Because you formatted the internal storage with TWRP your partitions are probably messed up. Odin back to stock (like you need to return it) and start over again. You can use TWRP if you want, its a great recovery. Just dont format the internal storage with it. Obviously try the easier fixes first, ie SD card. These phones seem to be more sensitive to formatting than previous galaxy models.

Ive been thru this issue also Trust me Restore stock once more and use oudhs cwm base recovery with swipe gestures. .. skip the twrp junk.
You need to root in a specific manor to bypass the Selinux permissive setting that samsung put on the s4.
I root with odin and flash these files in order after u google search them there also in the s4 root section ..I forget which page.
First @ foremost
FLASH RECOVERY I RECOMEND OUDHS 1.0.3.3 swipe gesture By shabby penguin.
Reboot device into recovery
Flash in order
1# root m919 UVUAMDL.zip
2nd #flash MDB SetUIDoff.zip that bypasses the kernel issue that samsung has blocked ..
3# flash superuser.zip of your choice
#4 wipe cash
5#reboot
You can now flash any Rom, restore etc.... no issues.

No its not actually. ... if you would odin back stock and root the way I said with files i mentioned you would see.. if you dont want to then thats fine too.
You dont even need odin stock
Just format system in twrp
Then reflash the files.

i'm bored of CM rom 'cause 4.4 is not ready yet and i prefer 4.3 stock vs CM based, so i will flash the stock one... how i... or what i must uncheck to prevent delete my files.. i haven't SD card now.. =/

thanks for your help...
If you're on any CM based rom and want to go back to Stock (especially to an earlier Android version) you need to wipe everything in order to work correctly.
Flash via flashtool and just leave everything checked as is.

There is one more option. You can backup using moborobo, but I'm not sure if it creates backup for app data's

If you backed up using cwm, only the app "Rom manager" will allow you to see your backups. And you are only able to locate and transfer them to your PC if you have the paid version of Rom Manager. If you want to go back to stock using flashtool, unfortunately you will lose your files as a SD card wipe is mandatory thru flash tool.

Extreme frustrating problems -.-'..Please help!

Ok so I actually have some really serious problems that I need some help with fast.
My details so you can help me with the following
*Running DN3 3.2 ROM rooted
*MJ5 new bootloader
*TWRP(at the moment)
*AGNi kernel
Soooo, here are the problems I encounter
I cant find a proper way to swap internal with external sd card. Now hear this super strange problem. Both with the script on this forum and the setting on AGNi control app DO INDEED swap the int with the ext sd card but theres a catch. Neither of them can swap the sdcard0/Android/obb(which is the folder I wanna swap -.-')but they swap the rest of the mount point! Soooo strange. As a result theres no space recover by applying this method and the obb folder still stays at int storage.
I really hate MTP on 4.3 Is there any way to enable the freaking USB Mass Storage?
Whenever I move an app to the sd card(settings/manage applications)and I reboot, after the reboot the app is lost and it says "App not installed" whenever I click its icon. This is the situation even after rebooting, I cannot move the app back to internal storage and as a result I have to uninstall and reinstall the app which leads to loss of data.(Note that I'm using a 32GB class 10 sd card)
I cannot make a proper backup and/or make a proper restore. I have tried both latest Philz and latest TWRP, the backup takes around an hour to do(REAALLLYYY long...)and then if I try to restore it says "Restore failed" on both recoveries.(On Philz it said md5 mismatch or something similar and on TWRP it said just restore failed)My only theory is that because I was trying to install a 4.4.2 ROM after making a backup and the recoveries were simply incompatible with KitKat, but other than that I don't understand why this happens.
Sorry for so long post but I really need help here. Thanks in advance!
Don't use the latest version of philz, it takes very long to boot the Rom for the first time which makes one get scared. Use version 5 Philz. After you wipe dalwik cache , go to mounts and format sd card and external card(take backup) then flash the Rom and reboot.
I flashed dn3 v 3.2 with cwm which ended up stucking at boot screen. Then I was told to use philz 5,now it works the works like charm. If I was you now I would flash the stock rom (unroot ) then root and flash dn3. Keep the stock kernel which comes with the rom. I didn't flashed mj5 boot loader instead I flashed Dr ketan's Wi-Fi patch. I had problem switching on Wi-Fi. Hope you get your problem resolved this is an amazing rom!

Hi NickVXD, I faced the same and was very disturbed, but finally it worked, the obb is swaped. I'm also using Agni latest.
What I did
1st I disabled the option from agni control app
Then rebooted
Then went to CWM
Flash the latest script of mattiadj, this one
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ivl678c67r7z57g/extsd2internalsd_fat32_gs3_8.zip
..and the obb folder is swaped.
Regarding Proper Backup & Restore
During a restore, from CWM misc nandroid settings, uncheck md5 checksum
Then restore.
It'll restore.
Hope it helps.

@nitol Thanks a lot for the obb solution, will check it later and report back. The problem with CWM isn't getting rid of the md5sum but to find a way to make the backup not corrupted. I had made a backup and then when I restored it said md5mismatch. So I removed md5sum check from settings and when the restore was done, I rebooted and phone stuck at note 2 screen. So the problem is the corrupted backup and not the md5. Also backup took 50-55 minutes to finish. Is that normal?? Thanks again.
