Ok, when I am connected with my home WiFi and I am connected for awhile suddenly it will say "Disconnected" and I won't be able to connect to it at all.Even turning off my phone or wifi doesn't work. It eventually will connect after awhile. I wouldn't mind if I had 4G but I'm stuck on edge until Septmeber-ish. I had the problem starting with 4.2 and still have it in 4.3. Is it a hardware issue? A coding issue? I've tried different roms, different kernels so don't recommend that unless it has some magical fix powers.
I think its a problem with the phone it's self. Mine does it all the time at my home. Not as bad,but I'm on stock w/just an unlocked boot loader

Just got my A100 yesterday and had really high hopes for it, but it appears to have done something to my home wifi.
Everything was going great with the tab until I decided to reboot the device. Upon reboot it would not connect to my wifi (it connected fine before reboot), just kept trying to obtain IP address and failing, disconnecting over and over. I tried factory reset and no dice, can't get a connection. So I figure I got a lemon and did RMA to send it back, boxed it up ready to send. Then I try and connect to wifi with other devices (Droid X phone and 3 Kindle Fires) and get the exact same thing.
My two desktops are running over wifi and work fine. All of the Rokus in the house work fine. Just the tablets and phones can't get a connection. WTF?
It has to be something the A100 did, nothing like this has ever happened to my network before, and it can't be a coincidence that it happens the very day the A100 arrives.
Anybody have any ideas? I am guessing it changed some setting but have no idea what it might be (or why in the hell it would do such a thing).
Any help appreciated.
Have you tried rebooting your wireless router? Some times a device will lockup the dhcp lease service, you'll be able to connect up to the router, but thats about it... usually rebooting the router resolves this issue.
Wow, I feel dumb... I guess that didn't occur to me since the desktops were working.
Anyway thanks for the reply, issue fixed, now I can get back to enjoying the A100
Hi guys,
I've searched the whole forum but I couldn't find any other thread about my problem.
When I connect my HOX to WiIF (Sitecom WL-370 - 300N Gigabit Dualband Router) everything works fine at first, but after a few minutes (5, or sometimes 15 minutes) I've got no Internet anymore but I'm still connected. Also WiFI Analyzer still detects the network. I've this problem both on 2.4 GHz as on 5 GHz. I've also tried switching channels.
The strange thing is, I can still receive a WhatsApp message but I can't send any, also I can't browse on the Internet or things like that.
After turning my WiFi off and on it works fine again for the few minutes..
Best Wi-Fi performance is turned on and the other devices at home haven't got this problem.
Anyone having the same problem or knows a solution?
I've got the same problem and it seems to be totally random. What i noticed is that my Google Play Store always stops working (no connection) shortly after i turned on the phone (~10 minutes). Switching Wifi off and on again doesn't seem to change it, i need to restart my HOX to get it working again while other apps connect just fine after turning Wifi off and on again.
Edit: Stock Vodafone ROM (1.28.161.9)
I have the exact same issue and i went through every setting in my router trying to fix this.
I would turn on my WIFI, connect to my home network, and start downloading. After a few minutes it'll either stop (the dl percentage not change) and then if i reload the market/youtube/browser or any app that users the net, it'll say no connection.
The weird thing about this is that it LOOKS like i am connected to wifi (in the notification bar).
This may be a separate issue, but i tried to turn it off and then on again to get around the issue. This time around i would try to connect to my home wifi and it'll just say 'Saved' and then the network would go out of range.
I am running Leedroids rom.
I might have found a solution:
Under Settings -> Wifi -> Menu -> Extended there is an option for Wifi Power Saving. After unchecking it all my connectivity problems are gone.
May be worth trying a static IP configuration, if you know enough about ip4 to do it. I've seen problems with android Wi-Fi since version 2.2 - if your router issues an indefinite dhcp lease, it can show exactly the symptoms you describe. Only a possibility but worth a try.

I have the exact same issue - the wireless shows connected yet you cannot browse the Internet etc. I have also tried every setting on the Wireless AP without any success. Even tried static IP and that does not fix it either. Whilst other devices in the house are ok...
The weirdest thing is though it does not happen everywhere i.e. at other places like work (where at least the same type of AP is in use) or at my brothers' house (where he has a Linksys). This is pretty much the only thing that bugs me with the HTC - the only workaround I have found is to make sure that WiFi is kept on only at times when plugged in - this doesn't actually fix the issue but it does mean that the phone will disconnect the WiFi and get a new connection next time it wakes up - this way I find I get the problem much less than when I have it set to Always.

I already unchecked it but it didn't solved my problem

Yeah, exactly, I've got the same problem. At school I've got no problems with the WiFi. I already send a message to HTC and I'm waiting on there answer.
I have kinda the same issue.
Using a HOX and at work I'm connected to Wifi and I can browse. At my house I can connect to the wifi, my IP is right that I'm getting from DHCP (I even tried putting in a static IP) but I can't browse
I also have a HTC Sensation, same setup and it works. The sensation can browse at work and at my house.
Why would this be?
Tried all sorts of solutions, but the only one that works is disabling the N-band and only leave B and G. This means that your laptop won't connect with the faster N, but at least the HOX works (what's more important )
Well I tried broadcasting a separate SSID on the b/g interface only for the exclusive use for the hox but that hasn't made any difference...my workaround is to have tunein radio in the background streaming whilst surfing...if I get bored of that solution my next workaround will be to trade the hox for an s3 as much as I despise TW...

I tried all the bands "B, G, N" and nothing works. So tired of this crap. Think I might just get a S3

I was thinking to do the same but there is no chance in hell of me doing that after I compared my HOX with a display model at the phone shop. Pentile screen vs LCD on the HOX? HOX = Sharper and better whites - the white on the S3 is bluish and so obvious. Another thing also I noticed is that the aggressive auto brightness on the S3 is too much - you won't tolerate it and you will likely be forced to manually adjust all the time. That plus reading that the S3 goes through the battery like no mans business when on standby unless you turn off all the features and put it in power save mode (might as well buy a Nokia then) at least the HOX uses the Ninja core and actually does save your battery in standby mode.
Anyway - the reason I replied is that I found a workaround (note, workaround does not mean a fix) - I put in a wifi extender in an area where I tend to spent most of my time with the HOX - this has not fixed the problem per se but rather seems to have elevated it somewhat. Basically now if the HOX drops from the main offending AP it automatically gets hooked up on to the extender and carries on working! I say this because (and I saw this only twice so far) I realised that when the phones Internet connection stops and you load a new page it timed out and get page cannot be found but when I hit refresh it works again you do notice a 3-4 second lag (this never happened before the extender came into play). Not sure if anyone else has tried this but I got a Linksys/Cisco extender for £69 and so far at least it has given me a workaround. Of course your mileage may vary...so don't splash out on an extender and come and blame me if it doesn't work for anyone here...
I am also having this issue with my HOX has anyone found a fix for this?
i have tried everything listed and nothing works.
its weird though because i have NO issues on my home network, but my network in my apartment here and at work network i get this issue
!!
bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuummp any fixes??? this sucks !!!!
What versions of android you guys have? Stock, sense, vanilla android, ics, jelly bean? Because I didn't encounter this problem when running stock or ics custom roms. After I updated hboot to 1.31 and tried different jelly bean sense roms it appeared. I also tried some stock android roms (ice cold jelly and liquid smooth) and wifi seemed to work fine. So is this sense problem only?

The only change for me is update to HBOOT 1.31 and then things started happening. Otherwise runnin 4.0.4.
No workaround so far, at least i have not founf a way.
I am experiencing a *hopefully* easy to fix problem with my SPH-L900. A bit of background, I bought the phone with a bad ESN off of eBay in hopes of flashing it to another carrier because I do not have Sprint. I had gotten the phone and it was completely stock with no modifications at all and is practically brand new. Now before I even started playing around with flashing it I decided to try connecting it to WiFi. I noticed that it would either quickly flash saying "connecting" or say "authentication error occurred".
I have tried different routers and access points, different forms of encryption ranging from open to WPA2 and it will not connect to any of them. It's running the stock MA7 ROM and modem. I tried reflashing the modem and even downgrading it. I did a full facroty reset with ##786#, disabled Sprint connection optomizer and disabled power save mode on the WiFi. I've also tried ParanoidAndroid ROM and it is producing the same problem. The WiFi MAC does show up and it does scan and show all of the access points within range it just refuses to connect.
I've ran out of ideas on what to do and looking through the forums I cannot seem to find anyone with the same problem so I though I'd post and see if anyone can provide some insight into the issue. I would rather not have to deal with sending the phone back and will like to get it to work.
So I'm running stock 4.4.2 Rooted, and as of 2 weeks ago, I'm unable to connect to wifi at my gym. The signal strength is strong, yet I try to connect and after awhile of attempting to connect over and over again nothing happens, but sometimes I get an error saying "failed to connect, network to slow" or something along those lines. My wifi works perfect fine at home though. All info I could find just leads to factory reset which won't happen for me. I've deleted that wifi over and over and put the password in again several times, no change. It's only me with this issue though and as I said, friends with the exact same setup can connect perfectly fine. This just happened out of no where one week after working fine.
Well now that I think of it, over a period of two more weeks before the no connection at all issue, it was starting to turn into a crawl for speed but only for me.. Stock everything Rooted, and stock kernel.

.....have the gym reset their router..... cause if you can still connect to other WiFi out there then i think it less of your phone and more of the router at fault here
Well, then why is only my phone effected? People with the same version and Rooted and such don't have this issue

my only other suggestion would be to flash Ktoonez(might have misspelled his username) TW Kernel and Tweaker and to Flash the NDC modem; from personal experience NDC modem gives me better 4g signal....yet it also gives me better WIFI signal as well as connectivity, some will say it doesn't affect WIFI but it did for me so you can try that since you don't want to Factory Data reset it.
Well my phones disconnected anyhow. I can only use wifi really so I keep it in airplane mode with wifi enabled
Hey all. I need some advice. This morning my G3 (D850) dropped WiFi connection for no reason. It says the signal is good but the network info says saved, secured. It will attempt to connect over and over again and if it does connect the signal is weak as can be and it drops the connection within 2 seconds. My coworker has a G3 also and is connected to the same work network I am. His connection says excellent where as mine said good. His device connects just fine with full bars. I'm baffled. I've already tried manually selecting 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz instead of auto select and that didn't help at all. I've tried manually turning off WiFi and turning it back on. I've tried turning airplane mode on and then off to refresh the connection and that didn't help. I've done a battery pull as someone in one of the android authority forums suggested that (apparently I am not the only one having this issue.), didn't work. I've unchecked WiFi optimization - no dice. There was another post on a different forum here on XDA that said turning off WiFi and then deleting the WiFi config folder located in data/etc/wifi and then rebooting fixed the issue for them so I tried that. After reboot when I tried to turn on WiFi my G3 rebooted itself. Does it everytime. SO, I had to restore to a nandroid backup (btw I'm on rooted stock 10f) to get the phone to stop hating my WiFi toggle attempts. Last ditch effort I did a factory reset hoping for an easy fix... Nope. I don't know what else to try. It was fine yesterday all day. This morning it was perfectly fine and then randomly started having this issue. I haven't altered any system files whatsoever. I really don't want to send my device to LG for warranty replacement so I'm hoping someone can help me out that may have had this issue and resolved it. The only difference between my device and my coworkers device is he is still on 10d and I am on 10f. That could be the issue I guess but that doesn't really explain why my device has been perfectly fine until this morning and I've been on rooted 10f for weeks. I am planning on flashing back to straight bone factory stock 10d when I get home here in a few hours from work but Idk if that will help or not. Judging from the amount of google search results of "LG G3 WiFi connection problems" this seems to be an issue for several people. I won't know if it's on the software side or hardware side until I get home but in the meantime has anyone had these issues at all? People have had success in changing to Static IP but I would have to do that for every connection I attempt to connect to and that's a pain in the a$$. Also, that does nothing to identify the root cause of the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Thanks for the reply. So it turned out my phone just randomly decided it doesn't like my work network anymore. Idk why lol. I got home and it hooked right into WiFi. Gf's WiFi and open networks as well. I call shenanigans. I went ahead and flashed back to 10d anyway though.

I am having the same issue! But it is happening in other networks too...sometimes I get the phone to connect but it only works for a while and when I check the networks it only says Saved, even if I try to connect again
Having the same issue, whether at work or home, my wifi has become near useless. I've even gone as far as trying a different ROM. Didn't work.
Same thing here
I also have tried factory reset, installed a new ROM, changed settings in my router... but the problem remains I don't know what to do anymore, I use wifi a lot!! I searched through other topics but no one seem to know how to solve it. Unfortunately my warranty already expired, I took my phone to some technicians but honestly it didn't help at all...they all said it was a software bug and I should wait for an update but if it was just that a new ROM would fix it,right?
I am not very familiar with phone hardware but I assume that if it was a hardware problem I wouldn't be able to turn it on or connect to any network, right?? (any experts here???)
Any solution is welcomed.
anyone please?? :crying:
P.S : I tried a new baseband, new kernel and new ROMs. So far, nothing changed.
I can connect sometimes but get kicked out within minutes. At other times I only get the saved, secured message.
This is happening in every network
