As topic title suggests what are the best SetCPU settings for this phone (running ARHD 3.0), I'm new to SetCPU and the whole overclocking part of android (not new to android, i've been coming here and rooting etc since the G1 lol). Anyway just wondering if anyone has got any good setups/profiles they wish to share?
At the minute I just have my max at maximum and min at minimum with on demand scaling, nothing else. Any help is appreciated guys, thanks.
I use 245-1032mhz and smartass or interactive governor and I don't use any profiles because smartass locks the cpu @ 245 mhz when the display is turned off

245 min, 1228 max, smartass governor.
Works great for me.

245-1032mhz
How is the battery life with 1228MHz?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On-Demand 1036/245 & On-Demand 460/245 for screen-off.
No lag and battery life is awesome

Tried these settings for a day now and really like them, had the same min and max but with on demand, smartass has definitely been giving me better battery over the course of today.

Yes, smartass is nice. Especially since you don't need an extra "display off" profile. It sets CPU to 254 MHz automatically once the display is off.
That reminds me, is it just me or is adjusting the frequency/temperature etc settings on those sliders a pain in the a**? It'd be much easier if you could enter the digits using the keyboard instead of those sliders. Often the view is blocked by your own hand and setting exact values is almost impossible anyway.

I find On-Demand with a 460max / 245min screen-off profile works far better then Smartass with no profile as 245max caused wake lag for me + music player and Last.fm radio were stuttery when screen was off.
I do agree with your second point

A tip for your hand getting in the way: touch the slider with finger/thumb and slide ur finger/thumb down the screen a bit and then you'll see that then when sliding left or right its like your still on the bar but you can now see what your doing!

I've just installed SetCPU for the first time. Set to smartass and left as 245 and 1036 as set by LeeDroid ROM/Kernel.
Will this increase battery life as opposed to not having Set CPU installed and leaving it as stock?

I find smartass does a better job at reducing the cpu when it's not needed which in turn increases the battery life
It would be the same thing as setting it to 768 max 245 min conservative right? Also would it be safe to have 245 max & min ondemand or would that create problems?

I should have clarified but it's for screen off only. I want to save battery on Andy's Bonestock ROM with stock kernel

I just set it on SetCPU and haven't noticed a delay in screen wake up time
Try it with oc beater.. do a temp activate.. if it restarts it'll go back to whatever is perminantly set

I had screen off set 245 for both the min and max.. with conservative... For an asop or sense 3.0 Rom or lower it was cool... For 3.5 I ended up putting max one higher and had better luck...
Smartass v2 is what I normally use now.. it runs great battery

Hey guys, these few days I've been seeing a huge battery drain on the phone so I checked my CPU clocks and found that even though I limited it to 1.2 GHz the CPU constantly locks onto 1.4 GHz with all 4 cores running. BBS says mediaserver is using around 10% of my battery and I can't seem to get my CPU clocks working. I'm using TripNDroid CM10 and his own 3.1.10 kernel. The problem still persists in other roms and kernels such as ARHD and AOSP with Bricked and Faux.Any ideas on why?

Anybody can help? Also, using setcpu temporarily unlocks the cores but after around 5mins they get locked again.

Can I set new frequency by shell?
Currenty I'm using sysfs(voltage control, vdd level) enabled kernel.
I want to set clock that isn't not on the table.
(most overclock apps like SetCPU only can select clock from table.)
Uxcl S6 and most kernel had 1516800(stock) instead 1476900(BeastMode) for 1.5GHz it's hard to undervolt.
Even freezes 1225 vdd. (1476900 stables on 1200 vdd.)
Want to set 1476900 on uxcl or virtuous kernel etc. without modding kernel's table don't have source for that
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I think the frequency needs to be supported by the kernel. I don't know.

I have tried to use set cpu and Tasker apps... To to lock the cpu to a lower frreq during playing a specific game... But I don't know how to do it... I tried with these 2 apps... But the cpu still changing 50-1500... Sorry for my awful English.... I also want to do that because my phone get ultra hot and battery last too short way to short... I'm using magiorom

try trickster from play store...set desire freq and enable frequency lock...do this while playing games only...
Use SetCPU and make profiles to your liking.

It s to hard to do that every time I play even for 5 min my game and then to set it to max freq again

I've already told that I tried but after I open game or an app I set on setcpu it doesn't change... The freq is not changing...setcpu is not working... Idk why

i think there is no for that...
Try trickster mod, and lock cpu to 1 or 2 cores before starting the game.
