As topic title suggests what are the best SetCPU settings for this phone (running ARHD 3.0), I'm new to SetCPU and the whole overclocking part of android (not new to android, i've been coming here and rooting etc since the G1 lol). Anyway just wondering if anyone has got any good setups/profiles they wish to share?
At the minute I just have my max at maximum and min at minimum with on demand scaling, nothing else. Any help is appreciated guys, thanks.
I use 245-1032mhz and smartass or interactive governor and I don't use any profiles because smartass locks the cpu @ 245 mhz when the display is turned off

245 min, 1228 max, smartass governor.
Works great for me.

245-1032mhz
How is the battery life with 1228MHz?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On-Demand 1036/245 & On-Demand 460/245 for screen-off.
No lag and battery life is awesome

Tried these settings for a day now and really like them, had the same min and max but with on demand, smartass has definitely been giving me better battery over the course of today.

Its because im using stock sense aha soz

Yes, smartass is nice. Especially since you don't need an extra "display off" profile. It sets CPU to 254 MHz automatically once the display is off.
That reminds me, is it just me or is adjusting the frequency/temperature etc settings on those sliders a pain in the a**? It'd be much easier if you could enter the digits using the keyboard instead of those sliders. Often the view is blocked by your own hand and setting exact values is almost impossible anyway.

I find On-Demand with a 460max / 245min screen-off profile works far better then Smartass with no profile as 245max caused wake lag for me + music player and Last.fm radio were stuttery when screen was off.
I do agree with your second point

Will try this settings out, seems good!

A tip for your hand getting in the way: touch the slider with finger/thumb and slide ur finger/thumb down the screen a bit and then you'll see that then when sliding left or right its like your still on the bar but you can now see what your doing!

I've just installed SetCPU for the first time. Set to smartass and left as 245 and 1036 as set by LeeDroid ROM/Kernel.
Will this increase battery life as opposed to not having Set CPU installed and leaving it as stock?

I find smartass does a better job at reducing the cpu when it's not needed which in turn increases the battery life
Is there a way to undervolt to save battery?
Undervolt can be done by simply reducing your cpu state, and current allocated for each hardware. Use setcpu or such and flash undervolt script in the Dev section (usually in kernel thread). You could tweak it yourself if you want to (don't ask me about it, I'm no dev).

you can try lormodue kernel and his uv script, it is amazing. but only for aosp rom.
I have been using MIUI-GB as my DD after trying out many ROMs.
The free memory is an issue which i can manage easily with built-in app killer.
I was wondering how do i overclock my processor as there is no OC daemon or any other app in the ROM ??
download set cpu or similar app in market (i prefer set cpu you though) know that this will only work for you with certain kernels but chances are whatever one came with your miui version allows for overclocking/undervolting. if for some strange reason it dosent find a compatible kernel and flash it over your rom

I installed "CPU Control Lite" and oc'ed my phone to 1.2Ghz. It said you kernel does not support UV'ing. But after oc'ing, my phone is behaving strangely. Launcher is forcecrashing. While playing music, if a notification comes, the music app crashes. Is it because of oc'ing or rom issue???
Can't say for sure but if it started after overclocking than this is more than likely the cause. Try 1.0ghz

Try setcpu, or cpu tuner. Just try. I use setcpu, ov until 2ghz

As dem' says, try 1gHz to start. You may find that stock speeds with a better governor makes it more responsive.
Also you should have to kill apps unless they are causing problems. When you say 'built in app killer' do you mean in the app management in settings or is it an app that came with the rom?

I have a problem. I am using the stock rom 4.1.1
to put the maximum and minimum frequency to 1500MHz
then close the app you use to raise the frequency
I try another app and see q under the maximum frequency to 1300MHz and 51MHz minimum
I once had a htc one s when the frequency so it ascended and noticed my phone was faster
but with my htc one x is something wrong, climb rate and low
why this happens? 'some solution??
Here are some pictures of the problem
The cpu speed resets to 1.3ghz because powersaving is on if that is what you mean

I don't know about best. That's definitely a question that will generate many different answers. These are my settings and they work well for me but they are also fairly conservative. By no means am I trying to get the highest benchmark scores. And of course the same settings will not produce the same results on every device. I should mention that I don't use sweep2wake or doubletap2wake, They will to some extent lower battery life.
Set CPU core separately = no
Cpu overclock to 1620 MHz
L2 cache and bus bandwidth = ElementalX
Auto Undervolting = 850 min
Thermal setting = run hot. Mine never gets very hot but then I don't do a ton of gaming.
GPU overclock = 450 MHz
GPU governor = ondemand
Cpu governor set to stock ondemand. With ElementalX governor I was seeing a slight stutter running quadrant.
Gboost = I am not using.
Enabled max screen off frequency.
Enabled USB fastcharge.
Disabled magnetic on/off. Tablet is naked, no cover.
Again, those are the settings that I'm using and they are admittedly conservative. Not using any apps like setcpu, kernel tuner or trickster. Don't forget to make a backup first.
Ok thanks, will give it a shot, thanks again
