yes i did is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2376615&page=2&nocache=1 not for Verzion Gnex

Your problem is that you flashed a GSM ROM on a CDMA PHONE.
Try and restore with the proper 4.2.2 factory image. [LINK]

You have a Toro but flashed a maguro ROM.

Well,I mentioned it's takju, takju is for GSM variant Nexuses!
In Galaxy Nexus Android Development section you see more ROMs for GSM Nexus devices than for toro!

oh my goodness i totally see the error in my ways. i was in wrong section. oh man.
mods please erase this i am so embarrassed ><

Np. man! sometimes this happens, it's normal!
but check general section and the .zip file to port Nexus ROMs to other Nexus variants, maybe it works and fixes WiFi, radio baseband and so on.

[Q] [Galaxy Nexus - Wind Mobile, Canada] Baseband deletes after flashing roms, help?

Hello, I just got my new Galaxy Nexus (with Wind Mobile in Canada) and I successfully unlocked and rooted my phone. I tried to flash some roms and no matter what roms (tried AOSP and Gummy just now) I flash, the baseband goes unknown and I basically can't get any service with my phone. I'm wondering if this is is an isolated incident with me or if I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions and comments will be appreciated. Thanks!
I've never heard of this.. very strange.

This may sound like a silly question, but you are flashing the GSM version of the ROMs, right?

I don't believe I am. When I fastboot, it says "Maguro" so I flashed a maguro type rom but when I do that, it gives me an error. So I flash it with a Toro type rom, and then it works. But after flashing it with a Toro rom, it gives me the error I mentioned in my opening post.

efrant, thanks for the quick response. I'm a newbie at this but my galaxy nexus is from purchased from wind mobile so I'm not sure if it's GSM or verizon device. There was another rom type I saw as well: "toroplus", which I didn't try flashing. Should I be flashing that type of rom or what would should I be doing? Thanks again.

You have a maguro (GSM) device. Only Verizon has toro devices, and only Sprint has toroplus devices. Everyone else in the world has marguo.
The best thing for you to do is to flash the stock images (follow the "flash" link in my signature). Once you are done that, then flash whatever custom ROM you want (maguro version of course).

Thanks. On the google page with the factory images, which factory image should I be downloading? I'm assuming "yakju" but I'm not 100% sure.

yakju or takju, it doesn't matter at this point. The important thing is that it is maguro.

If you followed my guide you are certainly NOT running an AOSP build.

My Nexus is from where? And what firmware I have?

I located in hong kong and bought an imported Nexus, which country does my phone "belongs to"?
Because until now I still don't have 4.1.1 update!!
Here is my phone detail:
Android version: 4.0.4
baseband version I9250XXLA2
Build number: IMM76K.I9250ZSLE2

That means you're getting OTA via Samsung, not Google. What I recommend you to do is use Efrant's guide to convert from what you have to yakju or takju. It only takes few minutes... Make sure that you got everything backed up, since the process includes you wiping EVERYTHING.
But when I connect my Nexus to kies it keep saying "connecting", tried on two different computers.
BTW, am I running the right firmware?
Well first of all, Gnex doesn't use Kies... You need to download the drivers yourself
And what do you mean by right variant?
Samsung use kies right? Where can I get the driver?
I think I am using Verizon firmware?
Are you with Verizon? If not, the answer is no.
Only device with Samsung Touchwiz uses it. Gnex is a PURE ANDROID. Without any brand bloatware. That is why it doesn't have Kies.
Verizon variant is mysid and if you have GSM Gnex and you can text, call and etc, you don't have Verizon variant. You don't need to worry about that.
You can get the driver and how to install it from this post
according on the web, IMM76K seems to be a Verizon firmware?
That is Verizon Android 4.0.4 version (I think). Mysid is like a "codename" for all Verizon ROMs. For example, CM10 for GSM Nexus is either takju or yakju, but CM10 for Verizon will be mysid. Hope that answers your question
how can i update to 4.1.1?
Here's the link

:faceplam:
GSM versions also have IMM76K....
I want to update instead of flashing the phone to keep my data. Check this page, it says at the bottom that my device "was never offered as an over-the-air update"?

Yeah, but he told me that the Verizon variant is IMM76K. Sorry if I confused you.. English is my second language...
---------- Post added at 05:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ----------
OP: If you don't want to convert to yakju or takju, you just need to wait. From what I know, your variant doesn't have the Jelly Bean OTA yet (Blame Samsung). I personally would just convert it and get it over with. That's what I did, and I am very happy with my decision. Photos and musics and the moved to your computer and apps+data can be backed up by following this guide
I thank you for your help. Here are my last questions:
How to tell if my phone is an import and find out where it is from?
BTW I still can't update (not flash) to 4.1.1
Well the variant can tell you if it's an import. For example, you have yakjuzs is a China variant, so it is an import. If you had takju, it will be from US. If yakjuux, Canadian. Something like that.
Ok i think mine is not an import then, thank you very much!

There are ways to unlock the GN without wiping data (it involves using an exploit rather than "fastboot oem unlock").
ezekeel's app has such a method.
However: I am not familiar with the Verizon GN that you say you have. I can't say for sure the app will work with it. You can ask around in his thread. There may also be other ways I'm not aware of.

His sig says he has a 9250 (GSM) version. Just revert to stock via the stickies and you'll be good. It's scary out there with all the hackery going on, but we're here to hold your hands... I think:angel:

i tried. and failed. couldnt get the cmd prompt to recognize fastboot.
OK.
Is it rooted?
Does it have any missing apps?
What ROM are you running?
The more details the better. If you are missing apps well that is your problem. Flash a stock ROM and boom. Then update.

[Q] Which rom?

I see a lot of gsm only roms. My phone is a i9020AUCKF1 with old 2.3.6 on it. I've been having trouble flashing a new rom to it in the first place and am not entirely sure what the source of the issue is. I understand that certain roms are meant for certain networks, mine is cdma and I have no data on my at&t plan through it. Rooted and installed rom manager just fine. Just where do I go from here?

Happy new year!
First of all you should consider to use the Nexus S specific forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=880 ) not, this one which is for the Galaxy Nexus (i9250).
Anyway, there are the official images for the 4.1.2 version, released by google. ( https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=it-IT#sojua )
The procedure to flash it is quite straightforward: just use the simple "flash-all.bat" inside the zip file.
Take a look to the stock rom and than read the forum for your device (you will find a specific cdma sub-forum too) .
Your phone, the i9020A, is Google Nexus S, not a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (i9250).

Sarcastic, are we?
Google Galaxy Nexus was the first device to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich.
ICS first version is 4.0.1, 2.3.6 is Gingerbread, which was never available for this device.
Google Galaxy Nexus model number is GT-I9250.

Can you tell me another thing Is it safe to flash TAKJU 4.2.1 over YAKJU 4.2.1??
Read all efrant's directions thoroughly first, perhaps several times to be sure you understand the process. Without CWM, i believe your most important step would be "fastboot erase cache". If you have CWM, there's no harm in wiping cache and dalvik. I would even do a factory reset first to be safe. Yes, there are ways to preserve your data, if you already have any, but reading for comprehension is key.
