I am currently having s3 and earlier had SL. but there scenario used to be different. If you can help me or give me some links I will really appreciate. I am from India and GNex was never launched here so its gray market piece. so please guide me. Thanks

Can you tell me another thing Is it safe to flash TAKJU 4.2.1 over YAKJU 4.2.1??
Read all efrant's directions thoroughly first, perhaps several times to be sure you understand the process. Without CWM, i believe your most important step would be "fastboot erase cache". If you have CWM, there's no harm in wiping cache and dalvik. I would even do a factory reset first to be safe. Yes, there are ways to preserve your data, if you already have any, but reading for comprehension is key.

HI guys I am about to get this phone and I have some questions to ask:
1) Does anyone here who got their Galaxy Nexus from ThreeUK know whether they sell yakju or other software models?
2) If I dont have yakju can I get yakju by flashing a file, and where do I find the file?
3) If I flash yakju do i then get future updates from google?
4) Do I have a chance of losing yakju through updating?
5) How do I flash yakju?
6) Do I need to have root access or recovery to flash yakju?
Please answer all my questions. Thanks
Hmm, like 7 of your questions can be answered by reading the stickies in development.
good day.

Hey I checked everything and I know 100% i got yakju. But when I check for updates there is no update. I am on 4.0.1
How to upgrade to 4.0.3?
Hi ,
I love stock rom , it sounds like untouched version and I'm kinda streotype person and I don't wanna change it , but there are lots of problem with stock rom , then
What should we do ,
You need:
GALAXY NEXUS TOOLKİT V4.0 ,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310&page=78
( It's really easy toolkit and it's exe , you don't have to do anything hard or complicating , just install it )
Factory Images for Nexus
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
Download images here and flash it with toolkit ( it's easy , you don't do anything , just put this file to toolkit , it'll take care of it )
and done , you have yakju version and believe me all bugs ( auto rotate screen , Reboot bug on Galaxy Nexus during music playback , menu bugs etc. )
Note : Sorry for my English ..
Same builds, different regions.
Can't really see your point here..
Both Yakjuxw and Yakju are on the ICL53F build.

The only issue I have with changing manually to yakju is that I will lose all my data and have to set up my 200+ apps again. There is no existing backup that works sufficient without root. Too bad!

You can root without unlocking your bootloader. See link in my sig. Once you root, backup and then unlock you bootloader and flash whatever you want.

Not the same. The yakju 4.0.2 build number is ICL53F. The yakjuxw build number is ICL53F.I9250XWKK7 or something like that, which is a Samsung build. It is based on ICL53F, but it is not ICL53F. There are some difference that may be affecting things.

I would have to agree with efrant on this. Before I had stock yakjuzw and flashed to plain yakju. I compared the phones and the plain yakju was snappier than the yakjuzw that I had.
Hello,
I tried to post this on developers forum but i couldnt because im new here.
I have a Galaxy Nexus with a Custom 4.0.3 and I can't upgrade to 4.0.4 because assertions fail on install.
I read that i should to restore stock 4.0.2 but all links point to yakju-icl53f-factory-89fccaac.tgz in google android's page but this link is no longer available.
Somebody could help me to get this image and restore my phone Please.
Thank you in advance
Alejandro Ibarra

Download Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit from the developer forum. Then click 'flash stock + unroot'. the program will download the stock ROM for you and put you back to factory 100%.
Edit: Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454314
There are no problems, with 40.4. Flash the provided miages (Unpack the tgz) make sure, that you flash the radio AND bootloader first, though! (Then maybe restart, after flashing those (Into bootloader))

In part i would agree, however i've been using that toolkit for awhile now and it's never failed me. It's a sticky in the Android Gnex developer forum with plenty of exposure and comments that haven't had anything negative to say about it. Cautious is good though, don't take my word for it - read the thread and see what others have to say about it.
Hello everyone
I just bought a Galaxy Nexus from someone. I was told that the device is factory unlocked. I looked into the settings and in the build number it shows ITL41F.i9250UGKL1. My question is that, what kind of Gnex is this? Is it bought straight from Google, or from some carrier? Also, in Android version it shows 4.0.1. Now I am aware that there is 4.0.4 out but how come in system update it says I am up-to-date?
I am fairly new to Galaxy Nexus, but I have owned a Galaxy S previously. Please help me out.
Thanks.
Does it has a sim slot?

His sig says he has a 9250 (GSM) version. Just revert to stock via the stickies and you'll be good. It's scary out there with all the hackery going on, but we're here to hold your hands... I think:angel:

i tried. and failed. couldnt get the cmd prompt to recognize fastboot.
OK.
Is it rooted?
Does it have any missing apps?
What ROM are you running?
The more details the better. If you are missing apps well that is your problem. Flash a stock ROM and boom. Then update.
