Using Doomlords TemplateUpdate Zip to Install Root Explorer

Hello,
I am trying to install root explorer without activating my phone for service and I have no wifi at work .
Is it possible to use Doomlords zip file to install root explorer in recovery? I need to change some files before the phone activates.
I dont know what lines I need to add / edit in the updater-script to make this work.
Any help would be most appreciated , thanks!
Why not use adb to install the apk?

And to be honest I dont know how to use adb :/

Reverting From CM7

Hello,
I'm relatively new to all of this so keep that in mind.
I've spent a good amount of time trying to get CM7 working on my arc with mixed results. I've had the boot issue and I've not been able to resolve it.
At present I'd just like to downgrade to an early (none-CM7) Rom but since I can't seem to get the correct wording for google, I can't find it. Suggestions in this regard would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
Read the stickys. ;-) Use SEUS or the Flashtool.

CM7 IMHO is a damn good rom, and if u r facing the boot issues on the latest stable version of CM7 i.e. 7.1.0.2 then all u need to do is after downloading the rom, and before installing/copying u need to open the zip file (I use winrar) and go into system/app folder and delete the AntHalService.apk file .... thats all, just copy the zip file (the one u deleted the above apk from) to the root of ur sd card and flash the boot.img file and u r ready to go no more boot issues. I have been using it and its running fine no problems whatsoever.
Just to answer your question straight, all you have to do is flash one of the FTF files (ROMs) using Flashtool and everything (including your kernel) will be stock again.

Need Help.

Hey Guys,
I was out of town and I kept my note 2 with cousin for a reason, I went 2 days.
My cousin realized that I have the latest jellybean 4.2.2 on my Stock ROM.
Once that, he knew I have root. The other thing that he realized is that my music player is still the old version (I mean the one that comes with note 2 4.1.2) so he thought he would help me by flashing the Galaxy S4 music player. He flashed it, rebooted the phone, the music player force closes (i knew that would happen but it doesnt matter alot) the thing that matters is that the "My Files" app has changed to blue icon with an android guy on it! And it force closes!
So what i need, is the galaxy note 2 music player. Plz if u want to give me it make sure u have 4.1.2 jellybean XXDLK7.
I have rooted, odexed note 2
Thanks
try it

this is what you need to do:
1- Open the zip file of the rom you are using
2- go to \system\apps and extract the music file
3- copy that file in your phone memory
4- then using a root explorer (ES file Explorer) copy the file into \system\apps folder of your phone and over write
5- restart your phone
this should resolve the provlem

Umm, buddy..I already did that before u replying, thanks but I guess u didn't understand what I replied..what I meant id that the music player is NOT the one that comes with the note 2! Its a different one with a different icon and style, which doesnt change the my files back to normal! I need someone that can upload it to mediafire or dropbox or anythin from his system/app..

This may not be the answer you're looking for, but why do you need to get the CM File Explorer working? There are many excellent alternatives.

Ok, well good look in getting it to work, but do consider that a file explorer is just a tool and not one that you want to spend a lot of time in, anyway. For me, moving files around on my Android through the Windows file explorer or ADB is what I focus on. At most, I will use the ES File Explorer to launch a file or delete it.
Pretty sure you can download it on fdroid.
Yup here it is.

Figured out why it does not work on most devices... Mist devices who have busybox installed do not have all the symlinks and applets needed to run the file manager.

Make sure when you are in the file explorer that you aren't trying to access /emulated/0/Download. There was a file system change that I've found with 4.3 that links a lot of things to the emulated folder.
Manually go into /storage/sdcard0/download
Should work fine. If not let us know.
