Hello,
I am trying to install root explorer without activating my phone for service and I have no wifi at work .
Is it possible to use Doomlords zip file to install root explorer in recovery? I need to change some files before the phone activates.
I dont know what lines I need to add / edit in the updater-script to make this work.
Any help would be most appreciated , thanks!
Why not use adb to install the apk?

Well Dooms update zip just seemed so easy and simple if I know how to use it right.
And to be honest I dont know how to use adb :/

When I rooted my phone from superoneclick I got a prompt to install busybox and i installed it.
Now I have unrooted my phone from superonclick but dont know what is the status of the busybox that was installed previously
when i tried to search files using query 'busy' in ASTRO file manager i could see file called busybox in system/xbin folder. Will that affect my warranty? If yes how do i remove it?
Can somebody tell me the checklist for warranty? I have only rooted once from superoneclick, installed clockworkmod recovery, made a backup. Then I uninstalled system restore, unrooted the device and did a factory reset. Anything else is to be done??
What about busybox?
Thank you in advance.
Another quick update. When I tried to root my phone again with superoneclick i got a prompt that the device already rooted. That means the unroot had left some traces. How do I remove that?
why don't u just flash a stock sbf rom??? see cyanogenmod thread for a list of sbf's for ur region...
You should have removed all apps that require root before un-rooting.
Try uninstalling busy box, unroot, followed by root, unroot, just to be sure.
The other option of flashing a full stock sbf would also work.

I don't see any application with name busybox. Only there was a file with that name in the system folder. My only concern is that when I rooted the phone after unrooting it I got a prompt that the phone was already rooted.
I could not delete the file with root access.

I am using Eugene's CM7 port R5 & I subscribe to tmobile's name id - the caller id service from tmo. Can anyone tell me if I can use name id with this ROM?
I have the apk but when I try to install it just says Application not installed. Is there a way to push it in the ROM or any way to get it to work?
Guess not...

if u know how to use adb push it to the phone. If not, use root explorer and copy the apk to /system/app, and reboot

All you have to do is follow the rest of the unbrick guide to push the original att rom onto the phone reboot. Now you are in att's original gb rom. From there install rom manager from the market to install cwm. Then you are good to go to install any P930 compatible rom.

Not sure what you mean by network card? On the computer? Sim? Have you used adb on your computer to push boot, firmware, baseband, and system.img files from at&t? If you haven't that will solve all your problems.

i dont know why but phone is rebooting everytime i plug usb cable from computer....
yeah i got it :highfive:
Alright so here's the deal, installed Clockwork Recovery just fine, transferred CWM_SuperUser_v3.0.7 onto phone and installed just fine, went to use Root Checker Pro and this is what i got (screen shots below) so whats my next step and how do i go about it? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
Did you actually root the phone, or did you just download the apps from the market? If you haven't rooted the phone yet, then CWM, and SU won't do you any good as they need root access to perform the needed operations. If you haven't already, refer to this thread for rooting instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 Hope this helps!
Did you get a prompt when you ran Root Checker? It looks like everything's set up fine and you just failed to acknowledge that the app wanted superuser access.
I didnt get any prompts from Root Checker, is it possible thay the .zip file I used was bad or corrupted and simply didnt work? What about trying a different .zip?
