[Q] TWRP change device code name - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hi everyone,
I want to install TWRP, so I installed GooManager. The only problem is that when I want to Install OpenRecoveryScript it want to install the openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-d2can.img and I want the openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-d2tmo.img. I can't find anywhere how I can change the model number and was wondering if any of you could help me out.
My cellphone model number is SGH-T999V and I'm with Videotron.
Thank you,
Cope99

Just install via Odin. Or if you already have a recovery, flash the new one that way.
I think I've got that one both in zip and tar form if you follow the link in my sig.

Thanks, it work well using my custom recovery and the zip file from your signature.
Thanks again,

[Q] How to flash CWM 5.0.3.7 via .img file?

So I've got a question about updating CWM Recovery. I have rooted and installed CWM 5.0.2.6 and Superuser, but now I realize that 5.0.2.7 is out and I need it to flash some ROMS.
How the heck can I update?! I've tried flashing via ROM Manager but it stays at .6. I downloaded the .7.img from the official Clockwork website, which you think would be the best place, but it's an .img. Odin is an option, but I can't find a .tar that is definitely the newest version of CWM. Can I flash the .img via the current version of CWM I have installed?
Any help is much appreciated!
There is a touch version of the newest cwm in the development section. The attached zip file will include .tar file in which you can flash through odin. Good luck!

I'm having the same problem.
When I go to CWR site to download the latest CWM it just gives me a .img file not a .tar file.
I'm downloading the latest touch CWM for my first rooting of my SGS2.

Thank you to everybody who came forth with advice, but especially this one, the most simple. I had tried to flash via this method (I swear!), but the program just idled when I attempted to start the update. I decided to try it ONE MORE TIME though, and what do you know, it worked. Didn't have to lift a finger!

[Q] Rogers GS3 ROM Questions...

Hello,
New to android... I have searched and searched and read in a LOT of threads trying to get Cyogenmod 10 working on my i747m on Rogers.
I have found many guides and have managed to root my phone and tried installing Cy10 but got an error 7. I read that this was because of the wrong recovery version. I was told to get ROM manager and update through there. For me, however, the GS3 doesn't show up in the options.
Could someone please link me the correct files that I need? I think I know the steps, but it seems that all the files have different versions and are not compatible.
I'm trying to be very careful and not brick my phone, so I am reluctant to try anything that I'm not sure will work... I think that's why this is difficult (Rogers = AT&T? or not?, etc.)
Thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to take the time to help me.
I had the exact same problem as you and what I did was flash, if I remember, cm9 and go to ROM manager and then it would show me Samsung Galaxy s3(att).
You need to update your recovery I flashed the touch recovery from the toolkit and that worked for me

Do you remember which version of cm9? I tried that last night and I still got error 7, but maybe I used the wrong version. All I could find were nightlies, no stable ones for d2att (which is what I was told was our phone)

What version of the toolkit? I can only find 1.0 which gives me recovery 5.5
I'm in the same place. Rooted tried cmw and touch recovery both giving errors. Rom manager from the play store doesn't have an option for a different recovery for me.

I've been trying for 3 days.. I'll let you know if i find a solution (if this thread doesn't provide one that is)
(I'm in Ottawa too!)
Error 7 is means you don't have the right requirements to start with.
If you are trying to flash bell 4.1.1 on your Rogers device running 4.0.4, you must first install bell stock 4.0.4 from Sammy site or else things like will throw error 7 during install.
Read CM10 requirements carefully...
I had the same problem. I just upgraded the CWM version to the latest one using this (its the same step, just make sure you download the right recovery):
youtube.com/watch?v=rx8GuAKxzpA
Get recovery from the main CWM site:
clockworkmod.com/rommanager

[RECOVERY] CWMR 6.0.1.4 for I957 (LTE)

UPDATE: Easiest to pull CWR 6.0.1.4 directly from page http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager or install via Rom Manager
*Prior post
First, I take NO credit for this. I went to the new clockworkmod Recovery Builder and discovered p5att under Existing Devices.
URL and the steps I used follow:
0) Make sure you have an AT&T Galaxy Tab 8.9 i957 LTE version
1) Visit http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ and choose p5att from the Existing Devices dropdown
2) Once the recovery finishes building choose the Status option
3) Download the recovery.img (non touch should be 6.67MB)
4) Download and install Samsung Tool on your i957 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732112
5) Get recovery.img file onto sdcard (nrvate cm10 v7 has working mtp usb transfer; otherwise adb push or using a wifi file explorer)
6) Flash recovery.img using Samsung Tool
7) Reboot to recovery using Samsung Tool or Power option (in nrvate cm10)
8) Bacon! (always wanted to say that)
* I used this cwr on nrvate CM10 to successfully backup/restore and accomplish most other available options.
* I'm not a big fan of touch recovery but that does appear to be a build option. Maybe someone can test it out and report back
Nice find dude!

Try odin?
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda premium
Make sure you are browsing to the correct recovery.img file when using the Samsung Tool. Flash the file twice. You actually won't get an acknowledgement it's "Done" (or any acknowledgement, although it works). Also make sure Samsung Tool has the requested root access by clicking Allow.
The .img file produced for this recovery is not odin or recovery flashable (to my knowledge). Good thing danhtc gave us the Samsung Tool.
My process above seems to be successfully repeatable for me. Anyone else had any problems? It has been silent in here since I posted this so not sure if anyone else is actually using it or not.
Thank You Worked like a charm

lol..you didn't answer his question. =P He asked you what version of Clockworkmod Recovery you are using when you try to flash the CM10 rom. For instance, CWM 6.0.1.2, is a version of cwm. Just for your information you cannot flash a new rom with an outdated CWM recovery or else you get the "get.prop" error. Try this: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-d2att.img
This is a .img(image) file and cannot be flashed in odin or cwm. I'd suggest you type cwm 6.0.1.2 into the XDA forum search to find the file or you can follow these instructions: download the Galaxy S3 toolkit from Android development section and then select #1 for AT&T, and then #9 to convert .img file to a tar file. To convert the file you have to put the .img into the INPUT file inside the toolkit. To access the toolkit go to my computer and then click the hard rive and then search for the Galaxy S3 Toolkit and click on it, you will find INPUT in there.
After it converts the file you can rename it and then transfer it to you desired location for easy access.
Open up the Odin 3.07 program and then click PDA, make sure you chose PDA, and then navigate to the converted CWM 6.0.1.2 file and select it.
If you aren't in Download mode go to it now, Volume down + Power + the home button, and the top box should light up and say COMblahblah where the blahblah is a random number. and then press start and when it's finished you can try to flash the ROM again. Be sure to create a nandroid.
My guess is at least when it comes to this particular build prop error is that you may have an i747M and cm10 won't flash on that (its looking for i747) unless you update your recovery as mentioned above. That or use mobile Odin to flash the cm10 zip file.

Your going to have to install the gaaps rom after you install the cm10 one. Do a search for where to get the gaaps file.
how do I add more themes? like the blood red theme. I only have one option.
Download them here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801752

How to install custom recovery on 4.1.2 build MD5???

Hi all,
I would like to flash my device with 4.3 doedexd and i need the safest way to install custom recovery cwm/twrp....please guys i searched enough with no luck and most of the threads doesnt mention the build supported number...sorry guys but i softbricked two devices before...this is why i have to ask....
Are you rooted? You can always just Odin twrp recovery or flash it thru their native app, Goo manager from the market. Look up their thread and it should give you specific instructions on how to do so.
