My phone is completely dead.....
Tried different batteries, connected directly to the charger.........completely dead
When I Googled that, I read multiple posts about a HW bug which kills the phone and the only solution - according to the posts - was to replace the MB.
This is International version, GT-N7100
Thanks,

Wish things were that easy......
I bought the phone online and because it was unlocked int'l version, Samsung told me that it was out of warranty because they didn't have any records of the phone where I live.
I already contacted Samsung support with no luck....
Now, I'd really appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction on where to get a MB replacement, I tried eBay but they weren't sure if the listed MB were to work with my phone
Thanks,
Contact mobiletechvideos.com. goto their website and email them or call them. It is your internal storage that probably pooped on you. Will cost about $150 to fix. They're located in Texas BTW.

Assuming you're from Europe, according to EU law:
"Article 5
Time limits
1. The seller shall be held liable under Article 3 where the lack of conformity becomes apparent within two years as from delivery of the goods. If, under national legislation, the rights laid down in Article 3(2) are subject to a limitation period, that period shall not expire within a period of two years from the time of delivery."
Check if your country adopted this. It should, cause afaik it's pretty farking old...

I think so, but you'll have to show them that you know the law and all, and you're not likely to get fooled, then i guess they'll behave
Btw: delivery by the way it's meant there is just the moment when you get your hands on the good, it has nothing to do with shipping afaik.
Cool so I will go to phones4u tomorrow tell them I need a repair and show them these if they say no and can you give me a link to.it so I can print it off

Before I start, Yes, I am new to the forums, and people can call me a noob if I did genuinely made a mistake posting here haha.
I was due for an upgrade on the 6th December just past. I didn't think there were two different models of this type of mobile, until I found it last week that I cannot upgrade my storage. I found out my model is an N7105 and was told that model isn't designed for rooting or whatever that Samsung guy said at the store.
I don't know if I am too late to stop this contract as I was told from Citizen Advice Bureau that I can still cancel it because it's not fit for purpose and it was false pretense.
I am quite frustrated and Annoyed due to the fact only to finding out that I cannot extend my storage nearly end of my 30 days. Wow...just wonderful!
Not only I’m stuck with this contract with 24 months on the papers, yet I am limited to space.
So, I'm in a difficult position here lol.
What can I do?
I have some pics but due to being a newbie here I can't post any links.
I've tried removing the sd card and putting it back in.
Any advice or any direction in this situation would be very helpful.
P.S. I forgot to say ‘’Happy New Year’’

I received it from Phones4u. They won't take it back because there's no fault with the phone itself. I could get some shop on the high street to root it and let me get access to the storage or something.

The models you're talking about are not Sprint models - Sprint has model number SPH-L900. Did you buy these and flash these over to Sprint? Or perhaps you're dealing with an international version of the Note 2?
*Edit* Yeah, see the site is UK. I'll ask a Mod to move this to the generic GT-N7100 (Note 2) forum for you so you can get the help you need. Thanks!

I am on the lookout for a Galaxy Nexus in Mumbai, India. I want to make sure that I get my money's worth when buying the phone i.e I don't want to get ripped off by the seller.
Can you please tell me how I can know if a phone is new or used previously.

I know. That's why I posted this thread - to see if someone else would have a answer.
There's very little you can do to check if it's new or not other than call Samsung and see if someone has registered the unit with them for some reason or another. Although the seals on the box being broken would be a massive give away

When i got my nexus in the mail my buddy took it out of the box and put his phone in to play a joke on me and didn't even break the seal. I asked him how he did it and he said he didn't even realize he had done that. So no the seal is no indicator at all lol.

I find it hard to believe you can undo the seal without damaging it, I had to proper rip mine to get into the box. Perhaps the EU ones are more secure!!
Either way, unless you're getting it from an official dealer it's hard to say whether it's 100% new or not
I have a hard bricked Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710). My fault, fortunately it was the spare phone after a recent upgrade.
So I could send it to Texas or find a local person about an hour away with a Riff box and try that.
BUT I am thinking about getting a Riff Box myself and documenting the experience.
That way if I hard brick... again I can fix without sending to someone else to do JTAG and I can post it also.
Here comes the question. From what I read, I will either have to solder or jury rig or buy a 'JIG' to connect the cable
to a chip on the motherboard. Does anyone know for sure which 'Jig" would go to the 'SPRINT' version of the S3?
I also read posts saying the 'Polish' jigs are better...
But again which jig will work with the sprint U.S.A. version of S3?
(sorry can not post URL examples do to new to forums)
If no one on the forums has done this for the sprint S3 then this may be something that should be done and posted for others to read.
Jtag no longer necessary.
All you need is an SD card. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43724690 This is proven to work, pioneered here for Sprint S3 and has worked on T-Mobile and Verizon as well.
Search is your friend..

tried the SD did not work with this brick.
I appreciate the cross reference, I did search forums before posting and I already tried the SD card, used a level 10 16gig, maybe I should have tried a 32gig card... but I did try that. I do know unix and I prefer openbsd for gateways, and freebsd for servers over linux.
BTW I did get a reply from the company FONEFUNSHOP LTD in UK, concerning the "Samsung i747 / i747M / T999 / T999v (aka. Galaxy S3) JTAG Jig (+ 1 X 12 Pin Molex Port) " and the response was:
--not sure as we dont see that model over here in the UK, i doubt it, so i will say no.
So -bump- if no one knows, I could try posting with the riff box support forum as a presales question... They do list the SPH-L710 as a supported phone... but what jig?

Fingers crossed... Just ordered a Riff Box from ipmart... l paid for UPS shipping with insurance from ipmart and used paypal to give me some protection but it was less than $150, which is a good price if I get it. I did use a vendor listed on the riffbox.org site so I should be supported according to their site.
I never did get a good answer on what jig. To try something I ordered the multi-com jig off an ebay seller in California for a JTAG Samsung I747/I747M/T999/T999V (Galaxy S3) but I have no assurance that will work on a SPH-L710 because the seller did not know either.

I ordered the RIFF box on a Friday and got it the following Thursday. Faster than I was ready to use... So IPmart is okay!
I ebay ordered the jig for the T999 mentioned afore and bad news... while it looks like the correct connector on the jig... the way the jig is built it will not fit the phone it appears. The cable pins are in the way, if the cable pins had been on the other side maybe.
As to your question. The software with the riff box has a "clues" section as part of the resurrection that gets downloaded... and it explains exactly where to solder along with a photograph of motherboard and pin numbers. The clues section is must read and may also include tricks. Since you need the riffbox and the software to do this I will not repeat the information here in respect to the manufacturer.
I may give up on trying to find jig and just solder.

This may be the way to go to avoid soldering, but I don't really want to put out another $70 and wait another couple weeks for another thing from China. Google "JPIN JTAG Molex Flex cable for Samsung LG without soldering support Riff Box"
after looking at my HUGE tip on my soldering iron... I am going to order it.
I just put the jig I could not use up on ebay. Someone will benefit.

Hi all,
I have a Note 10.1 2014 that I bricked for good-really!-and I want to try putting a replacement mother board in. At least I assume it's the MB. Anyone know where parts might be available in the U.S.? (I can't deal with China shipping time, forget overseas at all)
Other alternative is if someone here has a damaged unit with a known good board that I could cannibalize. I'm very experienced with working on small parts, used to work in defense electronics so doing the physical replacement will go easy for me, and thanks to everyone here, I can flash the ROM, etc.
Very much appreciated if anyone can help-thanks in advance!

There is a service Jtag brick repair that fixes them for about $50 here is the link to web page http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-2013-jtag-brick-repair/
This link is for the GT-N8013 but they fix many models. They do international shipping and there phone number is at the top of the web page.
