When you go into developer options and change the animation scales, and change it to something less than 1x, does it use up more battery?
Also, I changed my scale to "off". What do you guys have it set to?

If anything, having less animation frames should save battery life, but in reality it does not. I haven't even activated the developer's options.

Been using BLN from the awesome new kernels and I hadn't seen this question in the General section so thought I'd ask.
In my Settings > Display > Display Settings > Event > choose Emails (since I use the Gmail app, the samsung Email is dormant so there should be no reason for the screen to wake). Screen still wakes on SMS. Is this just the case by default or am I missing something?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that is because of the stock Samsung messaging app that it wakes by default. If you install something like goSMS pro you should have the option to not wake the screen.

How can I get rid of the AOKP Statistics from the notification bar. No matter how I set it, continues to show up.
Other than that - great ROM.

Sorry but this doesnot belong in the development section. Please ask this in the Q&A section. Could a Moderator please move this?
Sorry, I thought I was in the ROM specific forum

If you see a misplaced or questionable post, always use the "Report Post" function to bring it to the attention of the moderators. On your web browser, it's the triangle icon with the exclamation mark inside. Simply putting "Could a moderator move this" inside a post often fails to get noticed and there's a good chance it will be missed. The RP system guarantees one of the moderators will see the report. Thanks.
Hello,
I'm looking for a app to wake my screen using the menu or back soft keys. I tried quite a few apps in market that use the sensor but most fail to do what I want exactly. Even a swipe would be cool too.
Let me know.
Thanks

I almost gave up! Your the man!! Thanks
Seems to be working good. Trying to get the settings right
Hello all,
i have doen a quick search and was unable to find anything pertaining to my problem - apologies if this is incorrect
I am posting on this forum after a long time because I have recently bought a Note 2 (N 7100) and wondered if there is a solution to a minor irritant.
I having been using HTC phones for quite some time and in those you have the option of forcing the phone to stay awake whilst charging - helpful if playing music or using maps while driving. That option doesn't seem to be available on the Note. Thus it looks like this feature is part of HTC Sense.
Does anyone know of a way of making the phone do what I am looking for or is there someone out there who might be able to write a program?
Kind regards and thanks for your help.
Naim

Great, thank you.
Before the screen shuts off on it's set timeout it dims. No idea why this is necessary since the screen will shortly time out anyway. Is there a way to remove the screen dimming before the screen shuts down or change the length of time before it dims ?
"SmartStay" (AKA NeverWorkedForMeStay) doesn't work at all for me. Maybe it's my glasses or maybe my ugly face scares it into shutting down but the point is how can I stop it from dimming before the screen shuts off? It just seems like such a useless and annoying "feature."
{Edited for clarity so as not to confuse people with too many questions]
The dimming gives you a chance to save the screen from turning off

Obviously I don't want to "save the screen from turning off", I want it to stay on or I wouldn't have posted the question.
That is not what your original question asked. You asked if you can get the screen to go off without dimming first. Now you are asking how to go into settings and adjust the display settings.

Obviously you didn't read beyond the first 20 or so words because beginning with "Is there a way ........." it actually asked the question I was interested in getting answered which no one has. The beginning was primarily a rant or more of a rhetorical question. If the system allows I will edit it for clarity.

I suggest using and app called keepscreen (search on XDA as the Google version is seriously outdated and I updated it) and with it you can set certain apps to keep the screen on indefinitely or until you turn it off. I love it.
