Which is the best music app?
I haven't been exploring music apps at all, so really don't know which would be the best one for daily use, and there are so many of them out there
I would appreciate any opinion.
Thanks..
Get purexaudio and all players work fine or poweramp but i think stock with purexaudio or ACiD is good too

Best is the one that works for you .That is why more than one app. What's best posts don't work on xda as its easy for you to try them all.

if you want sound quality : unless you root your phone , all music players sound same (maybe a slight difference in SQ and different software equalizers ) but not noticeable.
honestly your device must be rooted to get a real better sound quality (download audio mods and kernels)
and if you are rooted already i advice you to go with the WALKMAN player ported from Xperia phones (have the best SQ amongest all players)
First off all this is the wrong section you are posting in.
Second there is no such thing as "the best app ROM candy or elephant" it all depends on your usage and HOW you use it.
something went wrong? blame it on the tiger that ate a chili-sausage and farted flames.
Sound quality in Google play music player is the best . with fx booster effect in equaliser . But the customization in stock player are better
Google play music combined with cloud sync is awesome.

Hi folks,
Anyone else try JetAudio app for music? I downloaded it today - had been using Poweramp up to this point but I have to say initial impressions is that the sound is very good from JetAudio.. Anyone else try it?
Cheers,
Mick
Jet audio is great, plenty of adjustments available via the equalizer, I'm really impressed.
I agree. It has plenty of features for a free app. Downside of course is battery life. But nonetheless, thank you for pointing me to it.

I think poweramp is best. The dvc is unbeatable and the ui is great and u can also change themes. In jetaudio the 20 band equalizer is sweet but the ui is boring and there aren't a lot of options. Also try player pro.

It's the best player that I test. I just need a player with a file browser ans userfriendly ui. Very nice app.
Sorry for my poor english

The only problem that I have found with Jet Audio and PowerAmp is that they won't detect FLAC files, which makes it pretty useless to use. I usually use Spotify but I do prefer some tracks in FLAC.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
It says "It plays almost any type of digital music files you have (.wav, .mp3, .ogg, .flac, .m4a, .mpc, .tta, .wv, .ape, .mod, .spx and more)..." Not knowing what a FLAC is, I can't say if it actually does.
Just tried Jet, still like N7 Player better. More unique interface, let's you edit tags, replace album art with higher quality, sounds as good, better widgets. I bought Poweramp, but uninstalled, didn't like interface.

What is your favorite music player?
I just flashed AOKP and it does not come with a stock music player so I want to see what others are using and like.
Please mention what ROM you are running and if there are any known issues with the music player.
Thanks

Not sure about any S3 roms, but I had an AOKP rom on my GS2 Skyrocket, and DoubleTwist worked amazingly. I like it so much better than the stock MP, and it's free.
Stock ICS on my S3
This [poll] is missing the poll.
Double twist is my favorite and I've tried all of the popular ones.

i love the stock samsung player, the only thing it's missing is are lockscreen controls
Neutron MP. It's all about the sound. Horrible UI, but unmatched features and sound quality.
dont have one but:
Stock player is not that bad.
Poweramp is average.
Still looking ...
I use the google music app. Lets me play both local and googke music tunes.
Poweramp

Rhapsody is my favorite and you can't beat it if you stream music all the time and I am running the gnote 2 port.

I have been using Poweramp and really enjoy the UI, widget and lock screen controls but it tends to be daunting on battery life.

+1 for PowerAmp. I haven't noticed the battery drain, but I wouldn't doubt it. Are you using the EQ settings? That probably uses more battery.
Spotify is another one I use because I'm a subscriber. I like it a lot for the music available, the EQ settings, and the options for download quality.
I am on a AOKP rom right now.
Google Play Music, you can download the APK off XDA. Really nice music player and looks great too, and am also running AOKP.
... ... ...
I am using Jedi rom and seems like awesome beats only works with this fugly Walkman app.
Is awesome beats suppose to work with other players? Maybe even system wide with video apps and youtube?
I would like to use stock music app with it. Is this even possible?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I have the same issue.... I just flashes the stock Samsung player. (which in my opinion is a million times better) and the beats audio booster does not work with it... It's a shame because the added bass boost + my audio technical ath m50s makes a killer combo.... Does anyone know how to get it to work on the stock player?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, it doesn't seem to work with the Stock Music Player, but it does work with Google music player. You may prefer that to the Walkman app.
I tried awesome beats last night and can't say I'm a fan. The bass boost was horrid, it was way bloated had no definition and sounded awful! At least on my phone. The other settings weren't as bad but still prefer it flat.
Flash Ac!d audio.
I read the thread but it warns not to flash on any rom that has another music app already on it.. What would instructions be to flashing this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I wasnt expecting too much from it but actually I liked the bass of it. However that walkman app is pain in the back to navigate or add toba playlist etc...
I tried to freeze music fx hoping awesomebeats might replace it but no chance. Still doesnt work.
Guy just flash the purseus kernel and choose the eargasm setting and you will have a eargasm lol.no joke

Can't say I notice a difference between eargasm and flat (disabled). Enabling Stereo expansion did add a little something though. At least it didn't destroy the audio like "Not-So-Awesome" Beats.
Topic. I'm using the default one for the first time since I've been using Android. On my evo epic 4g and 4g touch I always used player pro but since owning the s3 I don't feel a need to use a after market one unless someone ports over the xperia music player with working widgets.

+1 for poweramp paid. I don't buy many applications but Poweramp was the one of the first i paid for. And I'm soo glad i did.
I used the built in player for a few days, but I saw no means to retrieve the correct album art, and lol that annoys me when my music shows the wrong art, so I started using power amp paid version :good:
Now you guys wouldn't happen to be the developers of this app hmmmmm? lol

This kinda moves the original question into another area, but how do you keep the ring tones saved on your phone from being played via the music player? I'm at the point now that I do not save music on my phone. I just stream it from my cloud. Thanks.

Most music players allow you to select which folders to add to your music library. Although others scan the entire device for sound files.
I like the option of storing files local. Works great for subways and airplanes.

I do as well. I just don't like the fact that some of my ring tones are mixed into the music player. Does poweramp allow you to choose the folder?

I've been playing around with Music Player (remix) lately. Its still fairly new on the Android platform and the dev has some bugs to iron out, but the menu system is incredible. Almost everything is accessible from swipes left, right, up. $5 is a bit steep, try out the demo you might just fall in love with it.

have you found a way to fetch the correct album art with the tw music app?
Im looking for a good premium music player, because all I ever use is Apollo and I want to branch out. BUt other than PowerAmp, WinAmp and Double Twist I can't find any decent ones they all seem to be streaming services???
Anyone know of any hidden recommendations for music players that are good and polished??
If you are on sammy 4.3 rom, then nothing is best than the stock music player.
If on other, you can try jet audio.
Regards.

Yea I am running 4.3. Didn't realize the sammy stock player got a bit of an update, ill give it another shot. And thanks for the recommendation!
If you are rooted I'd install viper sound mod. It isn't a music player but has tonnes of audio options and really will make your music rock

I personally find PlayerPro the best... have tried just about all out there... but it's also a matter of taste and preference. Everyone is different. Can give it a try, though others recommended already are also good options.
I've been using player pro for years. Also use it in conjunction with viper. I try other players from time to time and keep coming back to player pro. Best thing about it? You have an issue, contact the dev. When I had an atrix I had a few issues with the software. Over a number of weeks I tested various fixes he sent me and he got it sorted. Very friendly guy.

Samsung Stock Music Player all the way! Use the viper sound mod if you want a boost in sound (or want to act like a sound techie!). If you want diversity, try ZPlayer (Windows Mobile styled music player), or Play Music (the best, gives a stock Android feeling)! Winamp is also very good!
