[SOLVED] Arc stuck on boot logo stock rom, locked, unroot.

a friend has this phone, his children were playing games on the phone and suddenly the phone rebooted and since then the phone is stuck. It boots in to Sony and then Xperia, then a long vibration and back to loop of Sony logo.
It's not rooted, running on 4.04 stock, locked bootloader, and it's not even getting into recovery mode. Please help.

Not yet. I just got the phone and have tried getting into recovery.
I shall try the PC workout later in the evening after reaching home.
What do you suggest?
A reinstall of Rom via companion or flash tools?

First try PC Companion... and i was thinking... if it's not rooted how could you go into recovery mode.... i think it's impossible if you are not root...
So when the last rom will be installed by Pc Compagnion... Root it (flashtools and/or doomlord's method), install a recovery (like X-parts an app on market) and and like that you can do what you want with it...
Tell us if it works...

Oh i see you have habs with samsung's or htc's phone... They have a recovery without root but not the sony's one...

I just have one query...
How will flash tools or companion work when the device does not settles down, as it's in bootloop, from Sony logo to xperia logo, then a short vibration and sometimes a long one and screen goes blank and then Sony logo, and xperia logo, it's going on and on.
Please enlighten.

He was wrong when he said PC Companion, you need to use SEUS, Sony Ericsson Update Service.

You can use SEUS if it works yet but i'm not sure....
BUT you also can use PC COMPANION which works....
No need to turn on the phone, do you know "the flashmode" it's a basic.... so you can follow my tuto on my signature...
AND please follow exactly the steps before posting it doesn't work...
You can also try FLASHTOOLS...

phone back to life.. PC Companion worked in first shot..

i m having the same issue/problem with my Experia Arc S LT18i, its been over 2 weeks i m searching everywhere to find a solution for this boot logo thingy... but nothing seems to work i tried almost everything
phone was on GB Stock 2...my 2 years old niece was playing with it and phone was asking for security Question/ Answer i tried to repair it with PC Companion which took it to ICS i guess, and since then its stuck on BOOT
i tried Flashtool, Emma Update Service.... i tried installing a custom Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308849 which looks amazing but i can't get Network.... Sigh

what kernel you flash with the rom? did you flash the kernel modules

Xperia PLAY stuck on flashboot green LED..

hi guys, ive rooted n unlock boot loader for my friend xperia PLAY with android 2.3.3 stok, after 2days he update his phone to 2.3.4..... now his phone did not reboot.. i can not set the phone to fastboot, only flashboot... then i try to falsh ftf.. when i try to reboot, only vibrate but no screen boot n green LED on the start button...can anybody help??.. sorry for my english..

I am in the same exact state! Flashtool did not work, even after following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818583. I contacted Alejandrissimo so hopefully I will hear back from him soon.

I am pretty sure he will get back to you I have spoken to many people who he as helped :good:He just a very busy man!(Fixing phones Lol )

New version flashtool did'nt work for me.. try use flashtool version 0.6.9.1.. maybe your ftf was corrupted..

No you need a smart card for your PC which is EXPENSIVE that's how allejandrissimo fixes other phones remotely he connects his smartcard to your PC over the internet

Your phone boots in a sequence. Like this your phone boots (Boot loader) and loads your System.IMG ( Android)
They talk to each other now they don't why?
Simple you changed your system.IMG now your BL doesnt know how to talk to your system.
Here is the fix. the Ota (over the air) update broke it. Android version 2.3.4 looks to see if your BL is locked if it not it ignores boot loader. So relock it flash this file to relock ftf.

Then unlock and start over. But this time around use root explorer to delete mobile care apk so when you give it to him he can't update it.

i have done big mistake during upgrde my xperia arc s by using update tools...during updte batery level around 30%. so it sundelly died...now my phone won’t open...screan become dark...can’t charging....compter can’t detect anymore...i have no ideas to do...can anybody help me...hoping

Repair your phone using PC Companion. Just follow the instructions from the program and your phone should be fully functional in a couple of minutes.

same problem here
my xperia arc s turns on until the sony logo and then stays there forever.
It doesn't seem to charge either when i put it on charge as the red light is off .
How to connect with companion since it doesn't do anything ?

Visit the support zone, use the specific tool for when phone does not boot up. Just look around, you will find it. It will not require you to turn on your phone.

To use pc companion your phone has to boot up and it's impossible to update or fix phone that doesn't boot up via PC Companion you can only fix it with flashtool or SEUS,SEUS can fix the phone when it's turned off it's just like flashtool.

Wrong.
PC Companion has the solution for when phone does not boot up, SEUS does not have it.

[Q] zq does not start, even after flash new rom and hard reset

hello,
Suddenly i picked up my phone and was looping. I did the hard reset and the ZL arrives at the sony logo screen and turn off.
So, i try flash all rom with the flash tolls and the ZQ continuos the same.
can someone help me?

I tried putting the following rom
Xperia ZQ (C6503)_4.2.2 - 10.3.A.0.423 - 1270-5681 R4B_Brazil Generic.ftf
Xperia ZQ (C6503)_4.2.2 - 10.3.1.A.2.67 - 1270-5681 R6B_Brazil Generic.ftf
Xperia ZQ (C6503)_4.3 - 10.4.B.0.569 R2C - 1270-5681_Brazil Generic.ftf
C6503_10.3.1.A.2.67_Global-LTE.ftf
but when I start the phone, shows the sony logo and turn off the phone few minutes later.
i lock the bootloader ( because it's unlock ) and try again in pc companion. The program says that the rom was installed successfully but still with the same problem.

Did you select wipe data in flashtool while flashing? If no then do it again with wipe data selected

what works to revive my phone is letting the battery fully discharge until phone no longer boots ... then if i press power i get three red blinks to connect the phone to charger ... after a few minutes of charging the phone boots normally whatever rom ( stock or custom ) i have installed.
i am still checking into the issue ... it seems like a hw failure to me and will try to send it to warranty
you may try that in case all the things you have tried so far are failing

Hi, all you need to do is go to the Sony website to recover your phone. The update software page has a repair option. There is also a reset button near the sim tray. Hold it down till the phone reboots.

repair your phone using sony pc companion. and if you want to root, use towelroot.

I tried the Sony Pc companion. but it cant detect my phone.. it always restart when every i turn it off.. it just stuck at the sony logo then a few secs it restart again.
i dont know what to do with this problem.. pls help

search for the FTF file of your country. flash it using androxyde's flash tool. there are many guides in the forum about flashing. no rooting or unlocking bootloader necessary for this.

i tried what you said and it fixed it.. thanks alot for the support, it really help me alot. i love you guys.. hehe

Now new problem arises.... the phone works but if i try to remove it from charging it will turn off on its own. even if the battery got 40% it still turn off on its own and wont turn on unless i plug it in on a charger or pc.
