What is Google Latitude?
---------------------------------
Google Latitude is a location-aware mobile app developed by Google as a successor to its earlier SMS-based service Dodgeball. Latitude allows a mobile phone user to allow certain people to view their current location. Via their own Google Account, the user's cell phone location is mapped on Google Maps. The user can control the accuracy and details of what each of the other users can see — an exact location can be allowed, or it can be limited to identifying the city only. For privacy, it can also be turned off by the user, or a location can be manually entered. Users have to explicitly opt into Latitude, and may only see the location of those friends who have decided to share their location with them.

Or if you already have Google Docs installed it just asks you to update and voilà, Google Drive.
It says google drive is not ready, and it will send me an email when it is.
Thanks op
Do you have to have google docs to have google drive?

No, I actually hadn't re-installed Google Docs but downloaded Google Drive directly from the market.
Also says that it is not ready...
Okay I see what you're talking about, my bad, I hadn't tried running it yet had just downloaded it from the market with no problems.
It may be that it is only open to a limited amount of people right now. It is working fine for me, just downloaded it today.
ive got it. i was asked to upgrade mine, which i never had installed atleast intentionally.
I installed today and it is working fine for me as well.
My phone must be having a schizo kind of day, it would seem my google drive is now accessible. lol
itll work for anyone, just open the browser and click the docs link, then it will say download the app, then after you download it will say your device not ready and then click notify me. now go back to browser and click docs again and google drive will open and be working fine.

Will google let us link our files to others?
The last time I used google docs was probably 3 years ago, files are still there I just don't access them anymore.
Google music- I mean, play music, is great in theory and terrible in practice. It lags and pauses repeatedly on the phone and apparently cannot be played in firefox while on xp, with certain isp's while missing certain obscure security patches that no one can point to.
I just can't see using Drive for anything meaningful. My wife has two companies she does work for and they either use their own database or dropbox.
Did you delete the Sprint proxies on your phone? Once I set mine to 0.0.0.0 streaming was much, much better with Google Music.

Google play service

Wth is this and why does it automatically install in my phone?
After a quick search:
Google Play services - Google services for Android apps
Google Play services lets Android apps from the Google Play Store integrate with Google+ and Google Accounts. To work correctly, some apps may require Google Play services to be present and up to date.
Google Play services is usually updated automatically on Android devices. You can also install or update it manually from the Google Play Store.

Yup. But it's not available in my country also. Somehow I managed to install it. Its pretty good.
Specially after Google announced animated GIFs.

A user is reporting that the app stores the animations only on Sony's site directly. Nothing on the device itself. And sharing on sites like Google+ isn't allowed. Is that true for your case or is it something just the user couldn't figure out?
I've just tried it briefly and haven't signed up for sharing at the Sony server, but I did find the gif on my phone. So no problem there.
Above the feed, to the right it says SD card, there you'll see your local photos.
Most annoying thing is that the app starts directly into the new photo feed at the server and it will always download and cache the first photo. So after no time at all the cache was around 60mb and no way to delete it except from using a file manager.

Go to Google Settings app, then go to location then turn off access location. Make sure Location Services is OFF as well.
Do you happen to use Google Now? For some reason, its location implementation makes it use Google Maps although you the user have never opened the app itself. I've had this problem myself too and I ended up disabling Google Now

what is that a app?
Go into Map settings>Location settings and turn off Resort grin this device and Enable Location History. This should solve your problem.
I had same problem I solved by searching on google. The trick is to disable and factory reinstall it.
When you go in app manager then map click Disable it will the propose you to install factory version say yes and renable it then boot just in case and Map won't consume the battery.
It worked for me and alot of other people
I don't why it do this some kind of bug in map that is delivered with phone but resting solve it.

**Figured out, I think**Anyone get the new Google Search?

I installed the new Google Search and the new Play Services in the hopes of getting the new always on OK GOOGLE to work, but so far no go. I know it has to be turned on from Googles side, but has anyone have it not work, then start working?
EDIT-I think I figured out how to make it work:
For those who dont have it activated yet, I think I figured out how to turn it on.
Google search>menu>Settings>Voice>OK Google detection>Menu button>Help & Feedback>scroll down and hit Audio History>Touch the plus next to See Your Audio History. At this point you should have to sign in to Google to turn on Audio History. Go back in to settings>voice and make sure Audio History is on.
After I did this the options appeared in OK Google Detection to use the hotword OK GOOGLE from any screen and from lock screen.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SEARCH 3.5.15 AND PLAY SERVICES 5.0 FOR THIS TO WORK
There's an Xposed module called Ok Google for 3rd party activities that will allow you to call out Ok Google from the home screens.

Yeah, I only enabled it to test and it worked while I was typing the last post. I'm on viper rom btw if that makes a difference.
Wow,... Your in the minority, from what I've read. It hasn't been turned on yet for my account by Google. Search 3.5.15 came out today and I was hoping, but not yet. I still don't have the options yet in my settings.
Have to click the search bar first, but works for me.(in u.s.a. with stock launcher)

There's a new Google search that has to be turned on by Google for it to work correctly. But after they do you can just say OK Google, even in a game, and it will work. But Google is slow so far activating it to everyone.

Then it doesn't work as I am explaining it. Once Google turns it on for your account you can just say OK Google, anywhere including the lock screen and screen off while charging, and have it work. No need to touch anything.
Basically just like the Moto X.
I forgot to mention that my search was updated yesterday to 3.5.15, newer than what came out last week with the new always on search, but it still hasnt been turned on by Google for me.

I haven't been to these forums in a while (been bogged down with life crap), but I'm glad I came here today! This is the first I'm hearing about this. I've been envious of this feature ever since I read about the Moto X.
The options were there on my HTC One, and it's working. Now I just have to be careful not to talk about anything the NSA might be interested in! Ha ha.
