Solved: camera issues on beanstalk - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

If you are one of the rare people (like myself) that cannot get the camera to connect regardless of what you do, then here ya go
I finally found a fix after 2 hours tracking the problem. Just place this file in data/cfw using a root explorer then camera should work no problem

Hope this helps

When were you having the problem? When opening the camera app? Or when trying to edit a pic from the gallery?

Thank you so much. I just have these 2 questions.
1 Are you referring to data in the external or internal storage
2 That CFW folder, do you create it or is it supposed to be there?
Again thank you cuz I really like this ROM but no having the camera is really annoying
UPDATE: tried it and nothing. I did data in the internal storage.. And just dumped it in there. Still having the issue.

It's on internal root. Also paste it in vendor/firmware
You should already have some files in data/cfw

When opening camera

This was an issue that was discussed before due to incompatible camera firmware with AOSP roms on some Note II devices. I also could not find anything in the data folder but after giving root permissions to File Explorer I found the cfw folder in data and just moved the SlimZM bin file into there and camera worked right away.
I just hope they would include the SlimZM bin in the next update since the latest CM 10.1 nightly has it included in system/vendor/firmware and we don't have to do it manually.

Bump

This fix also works for any rom. I just used it on the tw miui rom.

Use a root explorer (file manager )....that allows root file access...then enable read/write status within the app...
Then you'll be able to copy and paste the file successfully...
The device must be rooted of course....g

[Q] Factory Folder Nexus

Hi Folks,
Can someone post screenshot or list of files that he has at factory folder, i have a problem with generic IMEI and my factory folder was totaly empty. I want to know what files has to be at factory folder?
Best Regards,
Is this what you needed?
Edit: running 4.2 from Google, I don't know if that makes a difference

Wow so many things. Is someone know where i can get all this files. Yesterday I've found that I don't have any files at that folder and I ve restore only nv data
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Aren't they supposed to be included with the ROM? I mean I have no idea honestly. I was running CM10 before, and flashed back to 4.1.2 stock and then applied the update.zip for 4.2 update. So essentially everything was wiped prior to where I am now.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Those files are device-specific and should not be copied from another device.
Very strange this happened to you, though. The factory files should not normally be affected by ROM flashing.
Yes I know but I don't know what is going on. Every time I've flash stock image from Google page through fast boot but..
Actually after restore of my generic IMEI I have problem only with Mac address of the Bluetooth which is some thing like 43:00:00:00. But everting else works fine without this files at factory folder. Is anyone knows how to restore them?

How to fix the "0" folder?

Hi I flashed CM 10.1 with twrp, but was created the "0" folder in my sd card. Somebody know how can I fix this problem?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Googling helps when trying to find answers...
There are a lot of guides on how to "fix" this. If done CORRECTLY you will have only one 0 folder. You also need to update your recovery to the latest version.

The irony.
OP. It's a 4.2 thing. Not a problem. Use the search in the future there are dozens of threads about this.

this isn't a problem as such, this is just a new feature in 4.2.1. so if you create another users a folder called 1 will be created and so on, this is just the user-space of that particular user.
use TWRP recovery

Like the others said it's not necessary an error.
It would be an error if you flash another ROM and you end up with "Emulated/0/0" folder struckture.
For 4.2 roms, Install CWM recovery 6.0.2.3
Backups made after the instilation will be in data/media/clockworkmod.
To see the backup when you usb connect to a computer, you need to move the backup to data/media/0/clockworkmod.
The data/media/0 folder would have already been generated and is your new SD card directory.
CMW now has .tar back ups set as default. This means no more blobs folder and a complete backup is made.
You can select to save using the blobs folder method if you prefer.
So keep in mind if you have a backup using the blobs method that you want to restore, you may have to restore it before installing the latest version of cwm or switch between the .tar and dup methods (untried by me)
D3VIOUS runs a clockworkmod revovery thread on the development section, read the last 3-4 pages and your pretty much set.

it isnt a "problem" the sdcard format changed in 4.2 due to the multi-user feature being added.. now you have 2 choices
1. flash the latest twrp and you will only have that one "0" folder
2. use the guide linked in my sig to revert back to the old sdcard format and get rid of the "0" folder

Delete the 0 folder on SD card

Hi sorry I am still new to all this stuff, but how do I get rid of O folder takes up 3 GB of memory. I was running aokp 4.2 and now I switched to touch wiz ROM. Can I just delete folder or is there a step by step guide of what to do. Thanks in advance!

You may have important files in there. You may want to check before deleting it.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Look in that folder. Its everything that was on your internal sd before flashing a 4.2 based ROM. I used adb to pull everything out of that folder, then reformatted the internal, then used adb to push my files back to the properly formatted (i.e. Not a 4.2 based ROM) internal sd.
K thank you for help I think I know what to do

ROM? If you flashed GAPPS, version? Are you able to download just random .apk's from the net and not Play Store? Have you tried using another app store like Amazon or Samsung?
Gonna try another store see how that works thxs

Not sure if you have solved this yet but I was also having a similiar problem when I first got my Note 2 some months ago. If this doesn't help or you have solved your issue disregard it, hopefully it may be helpful to others in the future looking up answers to this problem.
It seems some apps can be installed incorrectly / get corrupted and this error will always come about no matter how much free space you have. It sees the old data persisting in your device and tells you you have insufficient space.
You can solve the issue if this is the case by deleting any stray .odex files in /data/app <- (this is in the root of your phone) You will need root access and a app such as solid explorer or root explorer (I would recommend solid explorer). You can find the suspect files by looking for any files in here that end in .odex and have no icon (just a generic file icon). The rest of the good files will end in .apk and have their respective icons.

[Q] TWRP issues

I have searched around and cant find a answer for this. Its probably something simple that Im overlooking.
When I DL a rom, theme, or whatever when I go into my recovey 2.5.5.0. its not there. NONE of my internal memory folders show up. The SD card memory is there.
Now I use FX file Exploerer....so to flash anything I must move the zip to the "O" folder and put it in downloads. Why isnt my internal memory not showing up? Its a real pain to have to keep moving files when the internal memory has them and it should show in recovery.
Am I missing something here?
Ummm...no suggestions?

The 0 folder is the virtual sdcard (internal sdcard) and there is no need to use it at all, it has the exact same contents as /sdcard.
But don't think of it as a "duplicate" of some kind, it's a virtual partition so you really do not have any duplicate files or folders.
With your file manager navigate to the / root of the phone and there you will see /sdcard which is the default/normal internal sdcard,
If you want to check the external sdcard you would navigate to /storage/extsdcard .
The reason for this is that starting from v4.1.2 of the Jellybean firmware all future Jellybean firmwares are
mulit-user capable just like when you log into windows 7/8 which has the ability to handle more than one user
with security in mind.
I dont know if this helps but heres a lnk to check out.

Perhaps this is the reason why so many people who have flashed a 4.2.2 CM/AOSP/AOKP rom and for one reason
or another wanted to go back to the Touchwiz 4.1.1/4.1.2 roms kept having all these "error 7's" in twrp and cwm.
Thanks fellas. I will look into this a little further
