I remember reading about the new features to be brought by 4.3 so my thought was "Here's a version I can safely skip and not even notice".
Some really useless features I would never use.
Just my 2 cents.
It was only a matter of time before someone asked this question.
It will happen eventually.

Most of the new improvements will be under-the-hood... Some didn't pay attention to I/O.
I will not try the stock Android 4.3 . . .
I think I flash the Cyanogenmod

Once the source code drops in AOSP, merges will begin.

I guess you don't like bug fixes. There are plenty to fix in 4.2...

Well, you could port it, but you would for sure need the 4.3 kernel sources at the least, and none of the under the hood changes would be present

Hello everyone,
I am trying to build a build of jelly Bean 4.1.1 for my cousins Galaxy Nexus GSM but I keep getting a great amount of errors, SO I was wondering if someone can just upload a OTA package of 4.1.1 tht I could download and flash to my cousins phone. Also just out of curiosity how would I flash it? through CWM? thx
LOVE U XDA!
-Kevin
Person who helps me will get huge rep and thanks Maybe even a donation ltr
Well, if your cousin intended to use it as a daily driver, it probably wouldn't have been the brightest thing to just build an AOSP version of Android. By itself, it really doesn't do much (NFC, GPS and a plethora of other things don't work because of lacking proprietary drivers [unless you rip them yourself], there aren't Google apps included by default, in general it lacks a lot of things).
Anywho, here's a link to the OTA package for Jelly Bean. Instructions can be found here.
Thank you so much good sir. Now I learn something new everyday

That's for the I9300, we have an entirely different chipset and carrier bloat that will take time to develop.

maybe im just being optimistic but i think we will get something fairly soon
on the plus side of it the rom just needs to be compatible with our phones SoC instead creating from the ground up, that and ass bloatware of course. Maybe sooner then later.

It's already silky smooth broham, I would prefer to have the samsung version because of the awesome stuff that comes stock.
Because cyan might have a great build but with JB 100% done he won't have to use hacked features just the kernel will be hacked.

Agree. I haven't even flashed a rom on here cuz well I haven't desired for one since stock isn't that bad at all

I imagine alot of ppl will be underwhelmed when we do get JB. There's not going to be much visually different, and project butter pushing things to 60fps throughout the ui will help, but this is already a pretty smooth phone. I was seeing some lag issues, but I reflashed my current rom & everything is back to silky smooth. Don't get me wrong, JB is a welcome addition to an already amazing device, but it's not going to be like the jump from gingerbread to ics, so I can be patient. Also, as a couple others have stated, I'm loving TW over AOSP now. I never thought I'd say it, but TW is full of incredible additions to Android that I don't want to lose. I love the beauty of stock Android, but it's a fair trade for all of the functionality.

You can get Chainfire's Mobile Odin and flash ROMs directly from your phone.
I say wait a month or 2 for the real update and not a bugged Rom XD
Cm10 has less real bugs then the LG 8 roms it is almost flawless and extremely stable I still have the flicker every once in awhile but not often .......really screw the carrier updates that are loaded with bloat ware

Actually, this is incorrect. Since he doesn't have a computer to root initially mobile Odin won't work because it requires the device to have already been rooted.

Theres even been some issues getting it to the Gnex side. It's there but lots of hurdles to make it work properly. Seems that Cdma devices are an issue somewhat, that may be why the carriers themselves are having issues. Plus lots of new integrated security measures from Google itself.

4.3 is not worth the trouble to change focus from 4.2.2 to 4.3. 4.2.2. Roms are much more stable and there is no point in having to iron out the problems with 4.3. At least in my opinion.

Why not stay on 4.1.2? Or ICS? If stability is your thing then stick with TW. Two months from now you'll be on 4.3 and glad that the dev community worked hard to put it together while saying the same thing about KLP...

4.2.2 has a number of changes significant enough for me to flash a 4.2 ROM every once and a while. But not 4.3. Stability isn't my thing. The trade off between stability and features is my thing.

Just curious because your comment made no sense to me but the could just be me. 4.1 TW is loaded with features and extremely stable, 4.2 AOSP is kanged together but rather stable. 4.3 kanged together, plenty of bugs and not stable.
Now you saying you would trade features for stability which makes no sense because what good are features if you can't benefit from them because it's unstable. But the roms with the most features are TW roms and the most stable. Just confused about what you said cause you say one thing then go in a different direction.

I never even referred to TouchWiz. I am comparing AOSP ROMS. Particularly 4.2, and 4.3. In that comparison I concluded that 4.3 did NOT have a significant number of changes, and, or added features to put time into making 4.3 more stable, when 4.2 is already significantly more stable. Make sense? Basic logic. Never even brought up ToucWiz people.

Any big difference between TW 4.3 vs TW 4.4.2 ?
I know that the 4.4.2 Google Edition Roms absolutely scream as far as real world performance goes. But somehow I doubt the TW 4.4.2 will offer a huge performance boost vs its earlier counterpart. Anyone have any insight into this?
@^ I recently checked some videos of the new kitkat update for the galaxy S4 on youtube and there isn't quite many changes. The only changes are some of the notification icons and also the settings now says 4.4.2, that's the only difference that I saw. There might be some performance boost on this update, but nothing really changed.

It performs pretty well actually and it also has some big features like the new location settings, tap and pay working out of the box, printing without a third party app and they revamped some lock screen settings, keyboard, and also now has AUTO high touch sensitivity so now it can actually sense when you're wearing gloves ( which I have tested and works great)
