Helle everyone.
I am a noob here. I installed a new Android OS (i know you guys call it flashing a ROM) on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but previously cleaned everything on my device.
Now I am running a new Android looks like the one before but I am not satisfied with it. What I want is that I could install any android version with zip file so I could install it using only the device no computers included and that's done by going into recovery by pressing power+volume up+menu simultaneously. I have done this before and installed android OS in a zip file. But now that I have installed this new android version I can't find "install zip from sdcard" when I go into recovery. Why is that? Can anyone else please help me please?
What recovery you have?
In TWRP:
Just press install and browse to file and click it then swipe to flash.
In Philz/CWM:
1. Flash zip
2. Install from sdcard
If you have non of these recoveries, then flash one of them using Odin (i don't know if Odin mobile would work)
Then try again..

I dont get TWRP or CWM
I don't understand what TWRP,Philz/CWM are? If you could please help me understand them!
I installed a firmware from a website (of course according to region)
And installed into my device using Odin on my PC. After that the recovery mode changed and I can't find some of those things i used to have
Like "install zip from sdcard" or "mount and storage" i lost those features. How can i get those back so i can install ROMs from sdcard?
You need a custom recovery like CWM. You can install it with odin. Your phone isnt rooted.
Sorry, what is a custom recovery and where can i get it? Do you have a link or a step by step guide concerning my situation?
I am using my N7100 posting this question and my phone is rooted, is there any application that can restore those things that i need ( for example, install zip from sdcard. How can i get this option back like it was before?
I think you're still using stock recovery as you don't know Twrp, cwm recovery.. They are called custom recovery. That give you more option than stock one such as flashing a new rom, install from SD card, backup your whole android system ( ROM), restoring it.. Blah blah blah...
First, have u root your phone? If so, you can go to these steps.
To install custom recovery, download latest Odin, then Google "cwm recovery for galaxy note 2 GT-N7100" and download that.. May be there'll be methods explained how to flash custom recovery.

Flash it with Odin, then you'll have a custom recovery called Twrp recovery, cwm /philz recovery. OK?

No, I am not using the stock market. I installed a new ROM (a custom one which has some nice features), and my phone is rooted (I use Titaniun backup). I flashed this custom ROM with this option "install this from sdcard" but now that i am using this ROM, I can't find that option anymore.
I'm a little bit confused why u don't know custom recovery and u have a custom rom.. To flash custom rom, u need custom recovery as far as I know...
OK.. Then, I think your recovery got some error
May be just reflash cwm recovery with Odin.. U can't flash with your phone now.. I installed cwm recovery from galaxynote2root.com.. Just Google how to install cwm recovery on GT-N7100 and look for that website.. Hope you'll be OK..

So, I have a rooted Desire, now Im trying to load onto it a custom ROM, for that I need the program which would normally be found on unlockr(dot)com. However I can not download it for some reason! can someone please see if they have it when they were rooting? please!
To install a custom rom you need to have a recovery mode installed. The easiest way is to install rom manager. Then install clockwork mod that comes with rom manager. Upon opening rom manager the first thing at the very top of the app is install clockworkmod. Which then allows for boot into recovery for custom rom installation.

yeah, I've done the clockworkmod, that way I installed my stock HTC ROM, but do I install a custom ROM by renaming the file into update.zip and then doing the same thing?!
thanks you your time!
With clockwork mod you can flash any zip file. No need to rename it. I take it you rooted using paul's old method. Than you can just use fake flash to load the recovery. This is a certain zip file named update.zip, which you flash from the stock rooted recovery. Then clockwork mod is loaded.
IT's not too hard
1. Download rom from xda
2. copy file onto your sd card
3. reboot into recovery
Important part!!
DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
i. select backup/restore
ii. select backup and let it rip
iii. return to menu
4. select flash .zip
5. find the rom & select it
Hello,
i have a question. Can you rood the galaxy gio after installing CWM recovery? If so, how do u do that?
I taught my phone was rooted and installed cwm recovery. But now it turned out that my something went wrong in rooting and cwm is allready installed.
Can i still root my phone without installing stock rom again?
I tried to go to update from sd card in the cwm recovery, but i can not choose any file.
I can only choose between no and yes install update. If i pick install update he installs something, but it is not the root file..

Hi,
You can try this, only for Gingerbread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111414
Use update.zip in the recovery mode.
Hey. Ive been trying to flash roms on my s3 since I rooted it weeks ago but nothing seems to work. I downloaded rom manager wich seemed like the best way to do it cause it handels everything. But when it goes into recovery it goes to android recovery 3e and just sits there. I flashed clockwork recocery but still nothing . I tried looking for the file through recovery 3e to install it that way but cant find the rom file anywhere.

3e recovery is stock recovery IIRC. It seems like your flash of the CWM didn't take. Not a fan of ROM manager or any APP to flash RO's. Honestly I suggest you get Odin 3.07 search here
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
download the recovery for d2att and flash it in odin or..... download goomanager and open the app and flash open recovery script. Voila you can easily flash (make a backup first)
Before flashing always make sure you follow the ROM instructions as well for flash that ROM. Most are generally them same but some do require some interesting steps to get other features and what not.
Just a point that should be reiterated. Do NOT use rom manager to flash things. Once you've got cwm installed just boot into recovery and do it from there. Generally (unless you are updating from a cm10.1 nightly to a newer nightly) you should wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache in advanced options, flash ROM, flash gapps, reboot the phone and that'll be that.

1-Use Root Genius Application to One-click root your Grand i9082 (www.rootgenius.com) it's a windows app, (you need to install Grand i9082's drivers on your PC before rooting)
2-Download the Recovery's image (.img file) and transfer on device's SD card or internal memory
3-Download "Rashr" from Google Play
4-open Rashr
5-Make backup of stock recovery (incase something goes wrong)
6-Click Install recovery from storage
7-Select the Recovery's image (.img file) in Rashr and install your recovery
8-Reboot and enjoy!
Recovery Mode not working
I succesfully rooted my i9082 using Kingo root. Then, I tried flashing CWM using Odin3 in download mode. Even after successfully flashing, the phone doesn't boot to recovery, it stays stuck at the Samsung boot logo. Even the stock recovery seems to have disappeared. The phone boots normally and into download mode, but I can't seem to access recovery or even bootloader. I have tried several different custom recoveries, and my custom BIN down is at 7 counts. Some applications I got off the Play Store say that I have no available recoveries installed/recognized. What do I do?
I also have same problem......!!!

Flash recovery again, try using Rashr app. If not work, might want to try flashing thru Odin.

Let's get straight to the topic,
I have an Android Device runnning on Android 4.2.1 named "Samsung Galaxy Fame GT-S6810" which is ROOTED. and now i want to know how to install a CUSTOM ROM like CynogenMod in this device. Help me please.
You have to install a compatible custom recovery at first, like CWM or TWRP. If you have the recovery as a .tar or .md5 file, flash it with Odin. Of you have it as a .zip file, you can flash it with the preinstalled recovery using the "apply update" option. After install wipe data and caches (you'll loose all your data at internal storage, so make sure you have a backup) and flash the ROM.zip file of your SD card. After that, flash a compatible gapps- package.zip and reboot. Hope this helps.

since latest firmware can't use motochoper :/
am using Custom Recovery and flash supersu \ :v /
ROOT your phone, you could make it via odin, it's simple.
Flash CWMR via odin from corsicanu or TWRP.
Download the files that you will need
Make a total wipe
Format System
Flash the rom
Flash the gapps
Reboot your phone and you will have a custom rom.
Hope i help you.
