Let's get straight to the topic,
I have an Android Device runnning on Android 4.2.1 named "Samsung Galaxy Fame GT-S6810" which is ROOTED. and now i want to know how to install a CUSTOM ROM like CynogenMod in this device. Help me please.
You have to install a compatible custom recovery at first, like CWM or TWRP. If you have the recovery as a .tar or .md5 file, flash it with Odin. Of you have it as a .zip file, you can flash it with the preinstalled recovery using the "apply update" option. After install wipe data and caches (you'll loose all your data at internal storage, so make sure you have a backup) and flash the ROM.zip file of your SD card. After that, flash a compatible gapps- package.zip and reboot. Hope this helps.

since latest firmware can't use motochoper :/
am using Custom Recovery and flash supersu \ :v /
ROOT your phone, you could make it via odin, it's simple.
Flash CWMR via odin from corsicanu or TWRP.
Download the files that you will need
Make a total wipe
Format System
Flash the rom
Flash the gapps
Reboot your phone and you will have a custom rom.
Hope i help you.

Helle everyone.
I am a noob here. I installed a new Android OS (i know you guys call it flashing a ROM) on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but previously cleaned everything on my device.
Now I am running a new Android looks like the one before but I am not satisfied with it. What I want is that I could install any android version with zip file so I could install it using only the device no computers included and that's done by going into recovery by pressing power+volume up+menu simultaneously. I have done this before and installed android OS in a zip file. But now that I have installed this new android version I can't find "install zip from sdcard" when I go into recovery. Why is that? Can anyone else please help me please?
What recovery you have?
In TWRP:
Just press install and browse to file and click it then swipe to flash.
In Philz/CWM:
1. Flash zip
2. Install from sdcard
If you have non of these recoveries, then flash one of them using Odin (i don't know if Odin mobile would work)
Then try again..

I dont get TWRP or CWM
I don't understand what TWRP,Philz/CWM are? If you could please help me understand them!
I installed a firmware from a website (of course according to region)
And installed into my device using Odin on my PC. After that the recovery mode changed and I can't find some of those things i used to have
Like "install zip from sdcard" or "mount and storage" i lost those features. How can i get those back so i can install ROMs from sdcard?
You need a custom recovery like CWM. You can install it with odin. Your phone isnt rooted.
Sorry, what is a custom recovery and where can i get it? Do you have a link or a step by step guide concerning my situation?
I am using my N7100 posting this question and my phone is rooted, is there any application that can restore those things that i need ( for example, install zip from sdcard. How can i get this option back like it was before?
I think you're still using stock recovery as you don't know Twrp, cwm recovery.. They are called custom recovery. That give you more option than stock one such as flashing a new rom, install from SD card, backup your whole android system ( ROM), restoring it.. Blah blah blah...
First, have u root your phone? If so, you can go to these steps.
To install custom recovery, download latest Odin, then Google "cwm recovery for galaxy note 2 GT-N7100" and download that.. May be there'll be methods explained how to flash custom recovery.

Flash it with Odin, then you'll have a custom recovery called Twrp recovery, cwm /philz recovery. OK?

No, I am not using the stock market. I installed a new ROM (a custom one which has some nice features), and my phone is rooted (I use Titaniun backup). I flashed this custom ROM with this option "install this from sdcard" but now that i am using this ROM, I can't find that option anymore.
I'm a little bit confused why u don't know custom recovery and u have a custom rom.. To flash custom rom, u need custom recovery as far as I know...
OK.. Then, I think your recovery got some error
May be just reflash cwm recovery with Odin.. U can't flash with your phone now.. I installed cwm recovery from galaxynote2root.com.. Just Google how to install cwm recovery on GT-N7100 and look for that website.. Hope you'll be OK..

Thanks anyway.
Thank you all for your help.
Hello everyone,
I decided today to try and switch from aokp android 4.4.2 rom back to the official 4.3 update. I Factory reset and cleared cache, and then flashed the .tar file via odin, and it said it passed. Unfortunately, it gets to the flashing Samsung logo, and gets stuck there.. any suggestions on how to fix this?

What phone model and carrier do you use and where did you find an Odin flashable file for 4.3 JB? Do you have custom recovery installed on your phone?

The 4.3 ROM would have been better flashed as a zip file via custom recovery than Odin. I would suggest you first try booting into recovery mode and doing a hard wipe/reset. If this does not work, then you may try reinstalling the zip. Boot into download mode and flash custom recovery (cwm or TWRP) via Odin. Also copy the zip file you earlier downloaded (unextracted) onto an SDHC card or you may try another download via this link <http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319199494>. If you are able to successfully flash custom recovery, don't allow the phone to reboot but remove the battery and insert the card. Then boot into custom recovery and flash the zip from the SDHC card. Clear the cache and reset and, hopefully, your phone will be back in business.
Hello
I probably have a beginner problem. I'm trying to flash a custom ROM via Odin but when I download a ROM like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/thunderrom800-galaxy-tab-s-10-5-t2840209 I only find a lot of folders but no .md5/.tar file that I need in order to flash it via Odin....
Where do I get the right file from?
That will be a zip file flashable through a custom recovery... No PC or Odin required.
Odin is for Samsung stock firmware's

Problem is I can't boot my device anymore, TWRP and Download Mode still working but anyway this means that I can't download anything on the tablet itself...
Just to make sure, when I want to install a custom ROM with TWRP or CWM I just need to put the zip on to the machine (don't even unzip it?) and I can flash it?
you can put a ROM in a micro sd card and flash with twrp
Tapatalked from my GALAXY S5
I just transferred the zip from my pc to the downloads folder on my tab s so when i boot into twrp and hit install, I just need to find it in my downloads folder and let it flash.

1-Use Root Genius Application to One-click root your Grand i9082 (www.rootgenius.com) it's a windows app, (you need to install Grand i9082's drivers on your PC before rooting)
2-Download the Recovery's image (.img file) and transfer on device's SD card or internal memory
3-Download "Rashr" from Google Play
4-open Rashr
5-Make backup of stock recovery (incase something goes wrong)
6-Click Install recovery from storage
7-Select the Recovery's image (.img file) in Rashr and install your recovery
8-Reboot and enjoy!
Recovery Mode not working
I succesfully rooted my i9082 using Kingo root. Then, I tried flashing CWM using Odin3 in download mode. Even after successfully flashing, the phone doesn't boot to recovery, it stays stuck at the Samsung boot logo. Even the stock recovery seems to have disappeared. The phone boots normally and into download mode, but I can't seem to access recovery or even bootloader. I have tried several different custom recoveries, and my custom BIN down is at 7 counts. Some applications I got off the Play Store say that I have no available recoveries installed/recognized. What do I do?
I also have same problem......!!!

Flash recovery again, try using Rashr app. If not work, might want to try flashing thru Odin.

Can you link any custom rom that need to be install through odin?
Mostly i saw the last two years for my i9190-i9192. You have to install TWRP through odin. and Custom Rom through TWRP.
while having stock rom install twrp and do factory reset and install custom rom zip file from twrp.
