When the f*ck did we get ice cream??
Well it says fully working !!! That means when cm10.1 is fully running on the phone without and issues .. Anyone can verify that is fully working .
And yes I will be tring to dev this as well. Im just hoping it helps the community devs and shows thanks to there hard work. "insensitive"

Is it just me or is CM just meh...I mean I like it but I prefer mods to the stock rom with battery and kernel tweaks.

Just like with everything else, tastes vary. I prefer a more Vanilla AOSP look, which is basically what you get with CM. Since many aftermarket ROM distributions are based on CM, we should be able to get all kinds of variations after we get a solid CM base to suit everyone's needs.

Oh yea def not bashing it. Any chance we get roms like I've mentioned. I'm coming from the gs4 where there are literally hundreds to choose from. I've done all of em but find myself coming back to a modded stock rom.
I'm just wanting something other than stock, so hopefully we get some roms pretty soon for this beast!!!

Yes I know, and I wish I had some extra cash to throw in but I don't rightly now. Hopefully this bounty goes a little smoother than the last. We all want the same thing here, and that is the ability to customize our phones to our liking.

Maybe we can ping Ricardo Cerqueira aka RC aka @aremcee, who ported CM to multiple LG phones. This is his g+ page: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115049428938715274412/posts

Gotroot, did you mention previously that you were working on a ROM of some sort?
I'd be happy to throw in for CM support, but a port is likely a good ways off, and after all the trouble that was put into getting us past the bootloader, I'd be happy with just a fully de-bloated, deodexed LG ROM in the interim as I'd prefer not to tiptoe around ripping stuff out with ADB. I'd be interested in contributing to something like that first.

I'd be totally in support of people pledging nonmonetary support, however

I would feel it would be in better hands if it went to Times_Infinity or T.C.P instead of the cm team. I wont name names, but I know who that phone would go to and I personally dont see the need for a github cherry picker to get a second phone. Just my honest opinion.

There is a lot more that goes into developing cyanogenmod for a phone then just merging changes from the github upstream. There is a large amount of testing that needs to be done along with fixing driver issues and implementing fixes for other issues that are specific for our phone.

Honestly, I both see where you guys are coming from. @brooksyx, your reasoning is because you know nothing of my development background, and I understand that. You know what CM's development background is more like, as does everyone else, which I understand as well. But for the past month I've been working close with sbrissen on this phone, which I don't even own, can't afford to buy one full retail, or even at a 2yr contract price, because I don't have Sprint as my service provider. I would love to be able to help sbrissen and T.C.P and everyone involved with getting AOKP working on this phone, especially since I have a working, booting source built AOKP with the only bugs being what is wrong with sbrissen's kernel at the moment. The decision to donate the phone to whomever he wants to, is mainly up to the owner. It's really tough developing for a device that I have zero access to and having to rely on people to test things and tell me what's broken doesn't help much either. I would be so thankful and very appreciative if he chooses to donate the phone to me, but if he chooses otherwise to go with his original choice of CM, then no hard feelings and his choice is his choice.

Hey the way I look at is that no matter who gets the phone its going to help the e4gt scene for the better. Just grateful the OP wants to give back to the scene. So no hard feelings either way!
I just upgraded to the galaxy nexus as well. I must say though, I do miss some things about the epic touch. It has better dev support at the moment. The verizon and gsm roms are not compatible with the sprint variant so at the moment, development is much slower than the other variants. I do think It will eventially pick up, especaily when jellbean comes out, but as of right now. the epic touch has more deving going on for it. Also the battery on the gnex is HORRID out of the box. Even when you install custom roms and kernels, (I recomend cyanogenmod 9 with the kernel it comes with) battery life can't touch the epic.
To the contrary, I do love all the official nightlies and roms from the big name roms, ie: aokp, cm9, and others. The 720p screen is fabulous also! The design is also very nice. The camera is nice as well due to the zero shutter lag. What will make this phone kickass is 4g lte! This phone is gonna be AWSOME when network vision hits! I am over all pleased with the phone, however I wish deving was picking up a little bit....or someone could make a flashable zip making the verizon roms compatable with ours

Thats awesome. I vote for times_Infinity also. I can attest to his work on the E4GT, I was the one that test his build of aokp that was straight from source and not a kang. And as he said, the only bugs were from the kernel which he had no control over (Radio would sometimes sleep and not wake,Screen would randomly turn on and then go back to sleep and 4g was wonky that was it). Times_Infinity from Team SbrissenMod FTW :]

this isn't meant to entice any kind of flame war, but I was just kind of wondering since I just joined my g/f's plan on T-mobile, and she has the S2 and now I have the S3 .....her S2 only has maybe 2-3 options for ICS roms (besides the standard AOSP)
and I see we're already lagging behind other providers?
just wondering if thats kind of standard, or if things tend to speed up a bit.
or perhaps is there another well known outlet for roms besides XDA for T-mobile? I know I've been coming here since the OG Evo came out and haven't found anything better yet.
The Tmo S2 forums used to be filled with ROMs but the devs stopped deving one after another until there were only a few left.
I'm sure the S3 will have a lot of great devs. Just gotta give it time. Phone has only been out a month.
In my personal opinion, the number of ROMs available doesn't reflect whether a device has good development or bad development. In my experience from the 6 devices I've owned, the VAST majority of "development" is really just people taking the same ROM (usually either the stock one or a CM version) and removing or adding some apps and themeing it. That's not development, that's themeing and doing the same thing anyone else can do with Root Explorer.
It's about quality, not quantity, and with the devs that I've seen around so far it looks like we are in for some great quality ROMs.

WhitehawkX and RomanBB and a couple others and I think a couple of the other devs from the G2X forums are coming here, those alone mean extremely great things for us. Not to mention Cyanogen, (Steve Kondik) himself may very well own this phone as well. Mostly we already have pretty stable cm9 builds they want cm10 now. AOKP cm10 (whitehawkx and romanBB) have been working on that like crazy. Things will explode no worries. Oh and not to mention we already have Morfic and Faux as kernel devs, they support many devices and do amazing things.

Lack of dev support? Really? As long as we have Steve Kondik (aka Cyanogen) on our side...we'll never lack in the dev dept. Not to mention...Morfic, Faux123, Romanbb...etc. They are, IMO, the best devs XDA has to offer.
Yeah, I don't understand your concern. We have THE premier developer for Android developing for our phones. You want more than Cyanogen himself to have this phone?

2 updates were useless the last one tho is good for the notification brightness control, I think is weird that we haven't get one yet, I feel like the us carriers will have jellybean gfirst before tmobile
To the OP Idk man the phone is new the evo didn't explode on development until after 3-4 months, and what I'm waiting the most besides cm10 stable is myns rom, he most likely make it compatible with all us carriers and likes his roms a lot, and the themes he uses it is my favorite so far

+1 i agree with op
& I wouldn't consider cyanogen/aosp as a tmobile rom chus there Roms are out for other phones as well and if you look at the cyanogenmod site our device is not even supported on there the international one is..
If you look at the tmobile android development we have like 2 Roms that's actually ment for our tmobile galaxy s3 but theyre not even being updated, team sonic rom was updated on 7/20 but that's about it

I would agree. Even though there's a great lineup of developers as already mentioned, there's a lot less activity in the development section than other carriers. I know others have mentioned quality over quantity but other sections aren't lacking in quality even with the additional rom options.
And since the stock rom is pretty solid, I actually don't mind seeing more tweaked stock roms. Both for customization and optimization.
However, I'm still satisfied with current Sonic rom and as some have mentioned, this is the first phone I've owned that I haven't felt the need to flash something multiple times a week in order for the phone to perform properly.
Samsung did a great job this round producing a phone that performs great out of the box. It only gets better from here and with stock performance being what it is, I can be patient while developers get cooking.
unfortunately there's going to be a chilling effect on AOSP / CM dev'ing until this lost IMEI issue can be understood..

I wouldn't call flex rock solid by far.
It as well as any cm9 based ROM have all kinds of app compatability issues. Which i don't find on CM10. Seeing as how it is for a child, they will want games, which is soley what i use my tab for. Streaming video as well.
Save yourself the headache and just flash CM10.

If by original source you mean factory, then its AOSP. CM is as based on AOSP as stock roms. Mods that devs do to CM pulls it further from its AOSP base, and is usually where the bugs come up.
Entirely up to you of course, but I wouldn't discount CM10 so easily, its been rock solid for me since source dropped and I started building my ROMs, your A100 will never feel faster. I'd be hard pressed to say any stock based ROM is more stable then cm10, and they are for sure not as fast or smooth. Just my opinion, but keep an open mind.

By original source based I meant the latest stock released by Acer for the A100. Sorry I might it said it wrong and I could see why "original" should of meant AOSP. Trust me Im gonna check a few out cuz I wanna settle with the one with least bugs no matter how tweaked it is for the fact that Im not going to be the one using it all the time.

I agree cm10 is a very nice ROM. It is what I am using now. I recommended relix due to its out of box reliability. I have some app issues on cm that are not apparent on ics, so it is all user/app dependent. Cm10 does have its bugs, but it is the latest, greatest and quickest, which is what most of us power users want.
I definitely recommend checking them both out.
I'm saying CM10 over any ICS because i am a heavy gamer on my tablet. I figured a child is going to be more interested in games than anything else.
If thats the case, nearly half my games crash on any ICS /CM9 ROM I have tried, even Acer stock.
Using CM10, I would say maybe 3 out of like 40-50 games, don't play.
ICS/CM9...half of these games crash.

So I've been reading alot. I'm really disappointed on what I've read about the A100 in terms of hardware (battery, screen responsiveness, that scary emmc bug). I'm starting to regret I ordered in the first place but it was a good deal. A while back I had read good reviews on the A500 and I thought the A100 would be no different. Oh well I really don't want to turn back now. I'll just hope for the best and hopefully I won't run into any issues that will disappoint my lil one with her Xmas gift.
As for what ROM to install, it boiled down to the two mentioned in this thread. I said before that I prefer ROMs based on the official release for that specific device (Flex Reaper I believe) just cuz I always felt it would be the most stable since it was made for that device itself. Now I keep reading that alot of you prefer CM10 but I'm not sure if it is because IT IS more stable (as in everything in the A100 that suppose to work, WORKS) or its just cuz its Jelly Bean (the newest n greatest thing) and its more customizable than ICS. I prefer for everything that suppose to work...to work. I don't like flashing a new ROMs just cuz its the newest thing out there but lets say "bluetooth" its not working as good as the ROM I had before (YES I'm still on GB on my SGSII cuz the ROM its rock solid and EVERYTHING WORKS!). Now knowing that I'm gonna give this to my 8 year old daughter, I needed to be as stable as possible. If I could get some honest opinion between these two ROMs based on what I said I would be really thankful from you great people. THX ahead!!
If you are worried about the emmc bug. Your best defense is linuxsociety's kernel in the dev section, and his twrp 2.2.2.1 recovery. He has implemented changes that could prevent the bricking. If you bought the tablet new and you get a brick, they will warranty it, just make sure you keep your serial number safe. With these bricks they can't tell or don't care about the flashing ROMs.
Seems everyones given their opinions bub.

I have tried a few others, liquid, alien, atom etc and none just seem to add up. I hate to sound condescending and by no means disrespectful but im looking for some others to play with. Customizable, leds, softkeys, statusbars, are some of the features I use a lot.

CM10, duh. I've tried quite a few as well and ended up going back to CM10. Their new update service is pretty slick if you flash a lot. I stick with CM's own kernel because it was designed for his build. Cyanogen has obviously put forth the most work in building android out of any developer out there and this is why I trust his work more than others on here. Multiple people are responsible for changes to the code and review what is to be submitted and not submitted for a better overall experience/compatibility; not just some random Joe Schmo developer tinkering with code.
You can't argue that Cyanogen and his team are the best devs on here, no one here has come close to what he's done with his build system for all of the devices he builds for. He makes CM a simple extension to vanilla android and compliments it very well.
I didn't even like sorcery when I tried it..
paranoidandroid for me
"I don't mean to be condescending" and "don't want any drama" do not belong in a thread such as this. You were better off trying all of them, and not some of them (and thinking it was all of them) and making a decision for yourself..

Sure you can, and that isn't fair. People have blinders on if they think only CM are the best. CM is a team of over a 100 devs. They have the manpower needed to do what they do. Nobody else does.
One of CM's recent features that they tried to play off as totally original (and many believe it), was in a rom a month prior, the commit provided by someone who has no such "dev" status.
There is talent everywhere. CM is not the answer to it all.
good roms are never supposed to be mentioned. just saying. silly

maguro or toro?
heres maguro http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=maguro
if you have a toro, press toro on the right side of the page. if you have a toro plus, UBER started a thread in the toro+ section. all the rasbean jelly rom support can be found in the trinity kernel thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455874&page=2267
No offense taken. I just think what CM has does is the cleanest solution to a custom build of android for mobile devices. And there's a reason they have so many developers on their team.. and don't forget Cyanogen himself.

Yeah, worked on the TB, and then switched to the Nexus when it came out last year.

From the Roms I've tried (which is every single one) I've found that cm10 is one of the lower on the totem pole when it come to features. A great ROM yes super fast and super stable yes but as for features.... not so much.

You're talking minimal differences man. How many more features does AOKP have over CM10? It's not as many as you think if you list them all, and besides, the CM team has their own that AOKP doesn't have.

What feature? I agree with you, it's not like Cyanogen, steve, whatever his name is, is doing the work for a few dozen devices. I just want to know what feature you're talking about?
Sorcery is nice but for me the performance wasn't there. Xenon HD seems to work best for me

What is with the lack of custom roms for our phone? Is it the lack of devs who own the device, or is it the lack of open source resources for our device? Thanks for your responses.
We have more roms than the international version. What are you crying about?

I think we have what, two roms right now? And they're both stock (one is deodexed), so really not a whole lot to choose from right? (And I mean absolutely no disrespect to Devs. I know this process, I've been around a while now. It takes time to get up and running.)
But I know, and feel what the op is saying. Normally by now, we'd at least have some more things going on as far as roms, and especially kernels. What I'm most excited for is aosp or cm. I really miss stock android, and I think this phone would benefit a whole lot from it as far as battery life and fluidity.
But I can be patient... I think

Dont worry bro the devs probably barely got their devices rightnow. We dont know what they are planning. But they will be coming and you will be first to enjoy a fully custom phone and quench the thirst. I have it too. The fact that the bootloader is unlocked for tmbile make me relieved[emoji27]

I could be way off here but if you want aosp you better start compiling it. For some reason I doubt we will see official aosp or aokp until one of us gets the ball rolling on github. I would but the idea of being a guinea pig for the kernel scares me off. If anyone knows of it officially being worked on please correct me.
I wish i could help unfortunately I cant code very much.. Anyways I cant wait for some LG G3 custom ROM love. :good:
It took almost 2 months for the first AOSP rom to start showing up for the G2, and that had less exposure. It just takes time.

Be patient. Device just recently came out. The fact we even have a full root and 2 flavors of stock is nice already given the time
I like LG's take on Android. I'd be happy with a properly debloated rom and custom kernel.

Trust me, If I could code, I wouldve started by now lol, but as far as I've seen , there is a guy messing with a 4.4.4 aosp build or Android L build in the general section of the T-Mobile threads. From what I've read he's responsible for the Android L port to the Nexus 4, so at least we have someone digging at it.
Other than that I haven't seen anything else.
This is my first non nexus LG smartphone , so forgive me if Im not privy to how long development normally takes. All I can say is I'm definitely excited to see something

I dont know how develpoment is now on the the G2 but when i had it there wasnt much going on there, I think i flashed international roms on that device, would that be possible with the G3?

With the G2 you could do that as long as you had a D801 kernel to flash on top of it. Might be the same here.
I wanted to compile AOSPA (paranoid android for those who don't know), but couldn't find the device tree for this device. Someone answered me on here and said that they needed to be built and none were available at this time.
That's what we're waiting for to get any type of AOSP rom on this device. I looked into building it myself, but it's a bit over my head.
