I updated firmware to 2.24.401(s-off),but now I have a camera issue,I want to go back to 1.29.708.16(I can't find this firmware) then turn to s-on for warranty, there isn't update to 4.2 in HK(where I bought the phone),so how can I downgrade firmware to 1.29,and can I change the firmware number by change "mainver" in android-info.txt ?

hello, i want to firmware update my phone to latest firmware out, but my phone says it is all ready up to date, what should i do now?
my software build number is 2.22.405.1 if that helps.
Firstly, I realise there have probably been a few of these threads so I apologise for opening another but I havent found the answers im looking for. What I'm trying to figure out is whether I can upgrade to the 2.22 firmware on my phone. It was purchased from three (in the UK) but I have rooted and flashed InsertCoin 3.0.5. As a result my firmware is currently 1.54.401.10 which isnt the three version which I believe would be .771 instead of .401. However, my mid is H3G__001 and cid is 06PB10000. What I'm confused about is that I have an unlocked firmware version (I think) but a branded mid. Does this mean I can flash new firmware or not?
From reading around I get the feeling that I might be able to upgrade if I have my mid in the android-info.txt file but I'm not sure whether I can just add this to the file for a firmware package I download
Although im a bit impatient to upgrade to the latest ROM i'm happy to hold out until a three firmware package is released but given i'm already on a custom ROM I wont receive the OTA so I dont know how that would work either. Can anyone help offer suggestions of what I need to do?
hello, some days ago i found that update is available on the htc RUU webpage from my 1.32.401.15 but no OTA update is shown on my device. my question is, if it's possible to update it without wiping data with RUU update? i just want something like OTA update.

Are you s-off? If not, you either need to s-off or wait until a RUU for your carrier and model is released.
There is more information about updating your firmware in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/firmware-t3068243

This is a duplicate thread....
But to be clear again....you cannot use m9+ roms for m9....
Wait for vodaphone OTA....or get s-off and update firmware....same answer as in the previous 5 threads you've started asking the same question....g
I am s-off I wanted to know what to do to update the firmware do I change my cid from Vodap001 to HTC_01 then get the firmware for that cid no or can I just put a dev edition firmware I'm not sure and I don't want to mess up but yes I-am. S-on now sorry if I didn't make myself clear I want 3.35.401.1 firmware and the any custom Android 6.0 rom is that correct or can I copy backup of my other m9+
Convert to dev edition firmware and flash the rom of your choice...
Just follow the dev conversion thread and you'll be good...
S-off is nice huh ?
Happy flashing....g
I've read here of people converting their non GPE edition to GPE..and then being able to go back to Sense... I'd be interested in doing the opposite.. Go to sense and have the option to go back to GPE... Is this doable? Downloaded this "RUU_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_6.12.1540.4" ... Is this what I need? and if so also should I update firmware? I helped my dad upgrade to Marshmallow on ATT&T branded phone but his would not work until we updated firmware. If firmware needs updating can a kind soul provide a link?
+1
You need S-OFF for converting it.

That RUU would be one possibility to "convert" to Sense. But as already stated, you need s-off (sunshine is the only working method - $25 US), and you need to change your CID to flash that RUU (possibly change MID also, but probably not).
You may or may not need to flash firmware first. Sometimes the Marshmallow RUU will flash if the phone already has Marshmallow firmware. But since it's a different MM firmware (and GPE at that), you may need to flash the firmware 6.12.1540.4 before the RUU will work. Error 155 when trying to flash the RUU will typically indicate you need to flash the firmware. You can get the firmware here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60218734&postcount=5
Also note that flashing the RUU will change radio baseband, and therefor the frequency band support. That RUU is the US Dev Edition, which has the same band support as the AT&T version M8. And that is different from the band support on the GPE version. So depending on your region/carrier, that may or may not affect your band reception.
