this rom will never see the light trust me stay on GB or at least on ICS but 4.2.2 it's only mirage (maybe for now, i can't really say it XD), maybe 5.0 hahaha... nope, just kidding XD

Look at the last post all work on that was discontinued. But 5.0 is "rumored" to work on low end devices so maybe just maybe it will come to play though by then most people will have moved on so it will be very little chance

Can anyone port this Xperia S JB Camera app to ICS?
I like the option to take photos during you take a video.
Here is the JB apk, i tested to put it in system/app but don´t work: - https://www.box.com/s/2brl9qloal29krgt323a

Thank you so much.
Just wait a bit. It won't take long for our official fw.
What about the camera from Doomlord's leaked XS JB?

Again, if you want it, wait for Oficial fw and install it. No point on porting that right now.

I didn't said I want it. I am asking the OP about the camera of Doomlord's leaked JB instead of porting from JB because Doomlord's leaked is already a JB.

A port would be pretty cool, but its true - Jelly Bean Update rolls out in 4 - 6 weeks.

I'm not saying that I'm not doing, I'm just saying that, by now, at this day, it doesn't worth the job. Unless the guy who's doing it is a genius to dDo all the work in 1 hour, it's better to wait for Oficial Jelly Bean...

I think anybody can try...
We aren't far away from the update but it's not so close.
Don't need to be a genius to do this in a hour when you can take a weekend to work on it. (just need knowledge)
We just want cool stuff for ours Xperia S at the moment.

[Q] No custom ROMS on ZL????

hey guys!!!
i am keen to get a ZL soon.. and hell yes i prefer the ZL over s4 or HTC One.. but i just checked out the forum & noticed that not major development has taken place yet.. be it custom ROMs or MODs.. wherein Z's forum is full of it.. that puts me one step back.. will ZL get less development than Z??? I would really want to stick with a phone which happens to be modded & developed... Its strange to know that ROMS for Z & ZL would be different as both of them are practically the same phone apart from the outer curvature & 2-3 tiny features... any takers to explain this to me??
Also battery life means a lot to me.. wanna know from the users as to how is the battery performing.. I am on HTC OneX at the moment & the only think i dont like about this phone is the battery life... need ur input guys!!! pls help!!
The ZL hasn't been made available globally as the Z did, so give it some time for it to pick up in popularity. The Z had an entire month head start on the market, and the ZL was only available two weeks ago.
Would some devs care to chip in as to whether developing for the ZL is any different than developing for the Z?
AW: [Q] No custom ROMS on ZL????
I think most dev will code for Z, because that is the advertised flagship. Nevertheless I hope that Mods and Roms can easily be ported from Z to ZL.
There is a first Cyanogen Port, although the ZL isn't released yet in many parts of the world. Samsung maybe won't get it years after release.
And you don't need 238 different ROMs, you just need one that fits!
If someone would help get me started I'd make a Rom for the ZL. I made a stripped down and buildprop changes Rom on the Samsung mesmerise which is the cdma version of the galaxy s back in early 2011. But I'm not sure where to start now :/

I'm in. The only thing that really needed on ZL is voltage control because the phone gets quite warm during prolonged operation. I don't like it. I see DooMLorD making custom kernel for the Z and I hope he will make one for ZL as well. But since he is busy with life that may take some time...

There is nothing wrong with stock ROM. Only thing is we need more customisation like voltage control and such. Stock Xperia Launcher suffers from lags from time to time. I just use stock 4.2 Jelly Bean launcher and works much better than Xperia Launcher in terms of smoothness and responsiveness

Basically flash addicted
one more thing is customization like
status toggle bar options
black theme especially navigation bar
small on screen buttons which is really annoying as accual screen size is less than 4.8 or something
camera tweaks etc etc...

Why don't you give CM or AOKP a go? I know the camera is non functional as of now, but asking the dev again and again is not going to get you anything. He has his personal life to take care of too.

Is a new update 10.3.1.A.2.74 coming?

It seems like a new update is coming to XZ. It may land on ZL as well in few days. It seems like a very minor update.
Check it out:

Xperia blog mentioned the update listed on ptcrb . i checked myself for ZL but its not listed for ZL so i dont think it will come to ZL...also .307 update was skipped for ZL and directly 4.2.2 as seeded for ZL before Z...m crossing my fingers for 4.3 for ZL incase sony repeats history....

Up until now there wasn't so much of an incentive though, seeing that at best JB would have been a laggy novelty rom that was too heavy to be a daily driver. It's not so much the case now that 4.4 seems to be optimised especially for devices like ours! Maybe devs will be more eager to sink a few weeks more into it!
I'm trying to get GoogleNow home launcher to run on SuperJellyBean (4.1.2), but it won't work, Velvet.apk keeps crashing. Not sure what its missing, but working fine on my MK808 android stick with 4.2.2.

I am no expert or a dev but i think it is highly unlikely that 4.4 grants that much of a performance boost over 4.1+ on the Play

I've done practically nothing except read about KitKat since it was introduced, and I can promise you that performance of this OS will be much higher than any Jelly Bean roms.
The memory footprint required by apps and services has been trimmed by a large amount. Games on the PLAY will no longer run out of ram. There's plenty of documentation on the web right now explaining why this OS would be perfect for devices like the Xperia Play.
Anyway it would be very hard as you would have to make a kernel designed for it which will take some time and you would need to get the touchpads working and edit the build prop
