Just wanted to post this item as I have just received one and I will say that it is pretty much perfect for what I wanted.
It is nicely packaged, includes extra screws and protects the corners while being extremely light and maintaining the One's premium feel.
It does NOT protect the back side, even on a table. This is fine for me as all I really care about is denting the corners. Also the power button takes a bit getting used to hitting as it is recessed, but there is no way around this with this design.
It took almost 3 weeks to get here and I will probably order a spare silver one.
I have attached some pics for you.
Enjoy

Just received mine today (black) looks really slick once fitted.
I had to place a strip of black electrical pvc tape on each inside edge as out the box its a bit loose.
Just ordered a black vinyl cover for the back to protect it from scratches.

This really is the perfect product for me because all I ever do is dent the corners haha.

Yes, it is a surprisingly high quality volume rocker.
Hi,
Here are a few pics of my black on black. With an Xtreme guard on the back I screwed up a little bit. Anyway.
Nice I just ordered a red one.
Do you guys think that a back protector is needed?? I get my one on Saturday and I purchased a front screen protector but I'm starting to think I need a back one with three one being aluminum and all.

I'm from the school of thought that A. we destroy the original engineering as little as possible B. some scratching, scuffing is reasonable wear and tear on an item. So, I do no see any point in using a back cover. Like I said, I have dropped the phone 3 times and dented the top corners and it has create a small gap on one corner so I think it's important to protect the corners. For me I also have accidental warranty so if I smash the screen it's only $100 to get a replacement.
The feel of this phone is too nice to ruin it with plastic film.
Looks nice, does it add much weight to the phone and how easy is it to install and finally would it okay with a glass protector?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
My question as well. Would this fair okay with the spigen glas.tr protector?
I have held one in hand and it is quite light, feel like it doesn't add much weight if any at all, definitely not very noticeable from what I thought. Also very easy to install. Just curious about the glass screen protector.

Dead simple install and is is VERY light. It is honestly the best IMHO. As for your Screen protector, I can't see why it wouldn't, unless the screen protector extends past the bezel.
about back protector = I would say it realldy depends on what kind of protection you need.
If keeping your device brand new and shiny for as long as possible, you should definitely get one. Otherwise, if a few scratches or wear marks are acceptable to you it is not something you have to consider. However I've always been a user of screen protectors as they are barely visible if applied correctly - and keep your device's value at its best if you plan to resale it someday.
I have tested many protections (incipio feather shine, dual pro, belkin, urban armor gear and finally this aluminium bumper.
I would not recommend this last one for daily use, as IMHO it really does not offer drop protection (shock absorbtion is not one of aluminium blends's characteristics) and prevent the screen to shatter in case you drop it from pocket height. For this reason I will stick with dual pro or UAG cases. But if you're really careful with your device, and just looking for small amount of protection and no bulk addition, then this might be the perfect one for you.
...oh, and I can confirm it adds not weight at all.

I'm sure it's probably fine. The one non draco I have is great so I can't see the fake draco being crap so long as it is aluminum. Just a guess though.
I think it would fit just fine with a spigen gtr on there the glass it not edge to edge or top to bottom.

Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I've got it and I think it does so I took it out. Not sure if it goes for everyone but from my experience it does. Especially when I was using WiFi at home when I didn't have the bumper case my WiFi signal was always full bar but soon as I put it on it fluctuates between 2 and 3 bars. Just my personal experience I've read from some people that it doesn't affect their signal so maybe mine was a factory defect

Hey guys.
The most concerning thing for me was protecting the camera lens. After looking around I purchased this one in blue from Ebay for under 8 quid and it's feels, looks and fits the phone perfect and fits around the camera lens snuggly and protrudes approx 1 ml above the lens allowing us to lay it down on front or back without the phone touching the surface at any time. Highly recommended, I have included a link for u to see the case for urself.

I received my Ultra Thin Air case this morning, took some quick pictures before went to work.
After using it for a day, here are my impressions:
The good points:
The case feels similar to the back of Galaxy S III, with the non-slippery coating/plastic. But it is less glossy so it does not attract grassy finger prints as much as the S III.
The case feels very good in the hand, it is extremely light, and you almost fell no weight difference with the case on.
It looks great, fitting is almost perfect, the only minor issue I can find is some of the speak grills don’t link up perfectly with the grill cut outs on the case. This is a minor cosmetic issue and the only fault I can find.
The case does protect all the corners of the phone, and will not come off that easy consider it does not wrap around the phone on all sides.
The Not so good points:
This case will not protect the screen when you lay it face down, as it doesn’t have raised lips around the sides.
The case does protect the camera lenses as it protrude very slight around the lenses (maybe 0.5mm), But it is too shallow for my liking, so I’ll be using a cut out from a screen protector to cover it.
The included screen protector is too narrow for my liking. The side cut out is the same width as the screen.
The conclusion:
There are other snap-on cases that are cheaper and offer better protections for the screen and back camera. However, if you want a light minimalist case with great design and similar feel to the naked phone while still offer good protection, than this might be the case for you.
Personally I found £17 a bit too much for this case, as I’ve much cheaper cases offer the same protection (see last two pics). However, those made the One X feel cheap in the hand and masked the beautiful design. With this snap-on cover, I have no problem show case this phone; the phone looks and feels just as good with this case on.
P.S. Click on the image in the po-up window to to launch the photo in a new window, then click the photo again to see it in full resolution, or you can right click an image below and select "open link in a new tab".
P.P.S. Photographed using the Galaxy s III, images looks very good even after compressed by XDA, I think it is a bit better than the camera on the One X.
As far as screen protector issue is concerned its the same for every screen protector out there coz One X has a slight curve n the protector is gonna develop bubbles if it reaches the sides..but its an Ultra Oleophobic Film n comes with a hardness rating of 3H so its almost impossible to scratch..
N all the hard cases of each n every phone come shy of the screen so its not an issue..n if u have the screen protector on then u don't have to worry coz as I said its one of the toughest protectors out there..
N as far as I can make out from the pics the camera is protected ..I mean its not gonna touch the surface when u put the phone down..its the same as my official c700 case..
But the fact is that I have searched a lot n also bought some cases for my HOX but all of them completely spoil the look n feel of One X..this is the most gorgeous looking cases out there..n its not cheap plastic but polycarbonate so it feels good too n won't get scratched that easily..

Just got mine in the mail, how would you suggest I apply the screen protector to avoid bubbles?

Clean your screen thoroughly first with the cloth n lift off any particles with a cello tape..make sure u dont have a single particle on the screen..then start applying the protector from the top n gradually peeling off the back layer as u go down..n make sure that while going down u remove any bubbles if any immediately even before completion of application as they will become harder to remove later on..
If u aren't sure then check out any video on YouTube..but don't spoil it coz its an awesome protector n separately it costs $13..

Well, the application was a success It's the best I've ever done while applying a screen protector. It was probably due to the fact that the film doesn't reach the edge . To anyone wondering, the edge of the film is hardly noticeable!

Not at all, there is no difference with photo taken with or without this case mate.
The best feature of this case is it makes the phone much securer to hold, as the stock back is very slippery. The back of this case is like a less glossy version of SIII.
P.S. Added couple of photos, the 1st one was taken with the case, and 2nd one without the case.
Thanks very much.
I ask this becouse i saw somewhere that problem with that case. Now im not concerned any more and ill buy this case

I currently have a genuine HTC 700 clear case, but quite like the look and gripabity of the Rock Quicksand Case.
What I would like to know is, does the case form a lip near the screen edge or does it sit below or flush?
and
Does it protect the camera lens?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've got one of those cases and there is a noticeable lip around the edge of the case, it doesn't sit flush. It's not however what I would call a bulky case. The Camera is recessed inside the case so it will protect it somewhat when being put on tables etc. Personally I like the matt grippy texture of the case and they go well with the one x. Ciao

I have 2 Rock case, One black and one quicksand, they are VERY TIGHT fit, but they do not goes all around the device (top and bottom is less covered) but all corner are still well protected
I have modified the black one to fit inside my HTC dock so that it still charge the phone, it is a bit less stable than the HTC case when inserted in the dock but this does work...
The reason why I like those case better than the HTC is that they cover the camera and also provide rigidity from edge to edge... haven't used the quicksand much but this material is nice to hold in the hand. I have the international version not sure how they fit to the XL...
Seem to me that our phone was designed with the assumption we would be using a case...

I have ordered white SGP Ultra Thin Air Series case which is similar designed as Rock IMO but want to have an alternative if I wouldn't like it. Awaiting photos, thanks in advance :good:
Of course there are some pros and cons according to me and would like to know how is the Rock in comparison with SGP. The main negative point of Rock is that does not offer white color, and the positive one is that I love matte surfaces Below are my thoughts about SGP, when receive the case will finalize them.
Pros
Thin and solid design
Comes with a screen protector which does not cover the whole screen
Cons
Glossy surface, I prefer the matte
Does not protect the screen when device lays on the screen
There is a little protection of camera lens as I saw in users videos
?
Design for speakers could lower the noise but also may protect from outside impacts
DJouneyt said:

To me, this is a major negative as I would like total protection.
Cons

Again, this is a negative as it would interfere with complete screen swiping!

For screen protector I wanted to cover the whole screen but do not want to spend about $15 more for just a screen protector. If I am not satisfied with the SGP's one may consider another And for the screen protection from the case, again I agree with you but then case would be more visible IMO. I am coming from full body cover, therefore search for the case that adds minimum bulk and protects the most but it is impossible I think So, we are not totally different but choices could vary

Well today was the 1st time in about 2 weeks since buying my uag that i took the case off. And immidiately i noticed and the upper left corner there were scratches. Ouch that looks really bad! Anyone else with a Silver One get scratches because of their UAG case?
Nope, not a single scratch anywhere on my black One. I took my UAG completely off to check. Man this phone does feel great without a case, though!
No scratches or smudges on my silver one with my UAG case. Honestly, the black one scratches so easily that I wouldn't blame the case, I'd blame HTC for a design flaw. Especially because there are other cases that are known to scratch the black one. The official case from HTC has identical complaints. These scratches are the main reason why I decided to keep my silver one vs going with the black. The black iPhone 5 has similar issues.

these types of coatings really should be a bit more exotic...something like DLC which is incredibly hard and very resilient to scratches - i know because my watch is black DLC.
in terms of design they edges arent all that sharp but they could use a slightly bigger round in a few places for DLC to be safe.
DLC - diamond like carbon.
I had black iphone 5 naked and my wedding ring scratched the hell out of it in just one day. Just purchased this case as well, seeing this is disappointing but luckily i have the silver one. Usually i try to get two individual layer cases with much softer inner layer for this exact reason, but these cases usually are a little bulkier. thanks for the heads up though.

All I am saying is that if a soft rubber/TPU case is scratching the finish on a METAL phone, I just don't see how that can be the case's fault.
I just put mine on today. I'll check it often to make sure it isn't scratching.
Could it be because some dirt was on the phone when you put the case on? I really hope this doesn't happen due to a design flaw
My $.02
I had this case with my GS3 and it's not rough, and I don't think it's the case that's scratching your phone. I think it's the junk that just stuck in between the case and the phone. This can happen with any case, and it does. I always take my phone out of it's case every few days to clean the phone and the case. All it takes is one tiny piece of something rough to get in there and F*** everything up.
It sucks that it happened but I don't think it's the material that the case is made out of. I am still planning on getting this case.

If there's some defect in the case then probably. But I doubt it's the case. He most likely had some gunk in the case. Take one tiny spec of sand and place it between your case and your phone and that one tiny piece will jack your stuff up. I don't see how that piece of dirt/sand is UAG's responsibility unless they have some kind of "no dirt on the inside guarantee" which they dont.
I own a Black HTC One and two UAG cases that I swap out often and not a single scratch at all. It's not HTCs fault or UAG, the OP must of gotten sand or some other hard particle underneath that scratched it up.
I put the case on right out the package. Cleaned the phone pretty good. The case is very snug so its really hard to get dirt in there. Also i bought it directly from uag so its not a knock off. I honestly dont know what did it but i remember before i even saw the marks when hittin the power button i always thought it was odd how the whole case kinda pushed down.

I'm curious as to how flat it lays against the screen. I assume it has total contact but I'm not 100% sure. I'd also like to know how well it plays with cases, with it having a thickness that is greater than the typical plastic screen protector. And then there's finger printing. I bought the AT&T/Casemate ones and they are grease magnets and somewhat hard to remove finger oils.

It makes full contact using a silicone adhesive. It does cause issues with hard shell cases. It should be about as fingerprint resistant as our original glass considering it is made from oleophobic glass.

Btw, it lays completely flat. It doesn't go over the tapered edge and actually leaves about 0.5mm of actual flat edge.
When first installed, it didn't completely adhere near the camera and raised slightly, but after about a day it bonded all the way.
Just be mindful about the bubbles when installing. Slightest dirt will show up as a bubble.

Btw, it lays completely flat. It doesn't go over the tapered edge and actually leaves about 0.5mm of actual flat edge.

How is it for light transmission...does the anti-smudge property block light (like a matte screen protector does)?
If it does smudge, is it relatively easy to remove them? (my Case-Mate vinyl protectors hold onto smudges, needing a liquid cleaner to remove the grease).
During your installation did you trap any dust, and if so, is the silicone adhesive forgiving? Basically, can you remove and reapply or will that possibly leave permanent fingerprints on the adhesive as well as dust?
If you had to do it over again, would you still get this product or try something else?
If you've used spigen glass, they are identical in my opinion.
It basically comes down as the best screen protector you can buy. You won't go back to using any other type of protector.
You can read up on spigen glass it applies for this as well.

I'm curious. How long did it take to get and did you buy from esparkler? Also, the picture kind of makes it look like it has a matte coating, which I don't want, can you confirm if it is gloss or matte? Thanks man.

Nope. When it does I will post in this thread.
It's a city over from me, So I suspect I'll get it today.
Alright, I got my glass protector today.
I'll give you the bad news, I do not have a photo of it on the phone..But I will cover everything so you won't miss it.
Packaging
The Envelope and the product both had a bubble wrap element to them. So the product made it here safe and I bet yours will too.
The Robot is my watermark and it covers my address.
Sellers Address
It's only worth $8.00 to them LOL
The opening process in order.
They included two Home Buttons
This will let you press the button with the glass on. It's not very tall so have no worries about it grabbing. My Tough Case it higher from the screen than the button.
Alcohol wipe,Home Buttons and a cheap cloth
The glass
It has very accurate cut outs for Home Button,Speaker and the Sensor/Camera area.
Application.
Scotch tape will help you remove any lint after you clean it. It will remove it from the adhesive side of the glass.
My adhesive side plastic cover stayed on the glass and the pull tab came off. It took a finger nail on the Speaker slot to pull it up and off.
I lined it up with the home button as it gives a 360* range of center to focus on. I then let that side rest down and gently let it drop down and on.
If you do it this way you will get to watch as it will pull itself to the OGP screen, It's actually interesting to watch as the glass will change color as it adheres to the screen from Home button up to the speaker.
Impressions
It's really slick and smooth.
The screen is just as responsive as it was naked.
I do not see any finger prints while I've been touching it.
Make certain you have every spec of dust removed. The glass is rigid and it will allow for a larger bubble of air and make it more noticeable.
I work at a steel plant and carry my phone all day, I also live a very active life style so this glass will gets its strength tested.
If it scratches or breaks I will update this thread.
All in all after a hour of having it, I like it and so far have no complaints about it.
Hello,
I bought an off brand glass screen protector for my ONE and received and applied today. It's better than I imagined it would be. And way cheaper than the spigen or seidio. Watch the unboxing here

And what it looks like after being applied.

If you're interested in the same one I bought, I got this one : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=331019841878

I'm about to order one. How did you go about applying it?
Let us know how it goes after a weeks worth of experience with it! I'm interested in purchasing one myself!!!
Also, what is the thickness that you picked?

Very carefully. Lol. I lined up the bottom edge with where the metal and glass meet. Its easier than explained. I did mess up the first time, it was crooked. I used tape to pull up the screen protector then lined it up again. The instruction says to push down on the center. I didn't have to it automatically started to suck itself onto the phone screen. Definitely an interesting thing to watch. It stopped before it was completely adhered. So I did have to put pressure on the edge. The are tiny micro bubbles that are seen immediately after adhesion, but they dissipate after some time. however my corners seem to not be adhered correctly. I left it over night with an iPad on top to add weight hoping it would flatten out. No such luck. I'm wondering what else i can try...

I will. It's 0.4 mm thickness. I can tell you this the oleophobic coating is worth it. Plastic screen protectors are always greasy and you can't seen to wipe it off enough. These don't have that problem. I'll keep you updated though.

I have one of these, from the same supplier arriving this week. Do you use a case on your phone? Interested to know if this interferes with the fit of it if you do.
Interesting to hear your account of fitting this. I thinks i will securely tape a carefully aligned straight edge steel ruler to the phone and use that as a bump stop type tool to try and get it on first go.

You reffered to the SGP model of the glass screen protector, due to the packaging.
My question, how sharp are the edges of this screen protector with swiping the toolbar down for example, since SGP released a rounded version of the protector to get the sharp edges of.

I'm using this protector (same Chinese) knockoff I bought on amazon. With a super sweet case/bumper also purchased on amazon.. the glass is slightly narrower than the stock screen. I have no issues with the glass and the case.

They aren't sharp like a piece of glass in a picture frame. It's somewhat beveled but not rounded off and super smooth. Well worth the money for me.

ah, okay dope, thanks man. May order soon tho!! But I'm still waiting for some stuff for my phone so after that I'll see if you got any updates on the screen!
Got the same screen protector from the same supplier as the OP today.
Very easy to install. No bubbles
Nice rounded edges, and as it is lightly smaller than the screen, my case fits well.
Texture very slick. Once on and in the case you wouldn't actually know it has a screen protector on apart from the small rise next to each speaker which you would take as part of the phone if you weren't familiar with the HTC One..
I will never go back to plastic SPs. This is legit! Even though an edge didn't completely adhere this thing rocks.
