Ok, I also need to know if it is the 16gb model or the 32gb.
And what exactly happened? What were you doing when it stopped working? You say it only boots to download mode now? And if you remove the battery, then replace it and press the power button, it automatically goes into download mode? Is this correct?
Were you rooted and did you have a cusom rom installed? CWM or TWRP recovery?
Sorry for all the questions, but I just want to make sure it cant be solved without a pit file. I have it for the 16gb version, but never had to use it yet. If I can avoid it, I will.

Actually i tried to install custom rom that time it happend. Now if i tried to install official firmware with odin it's says the attached image error.
If i remove the battery & press power button then it's goes to download mode. It's 16GB

Ok, and when you click PDA and select the firmware to flash, it should go through a md5 check. Does it pass this? It should display in the lower left pane of Odin.
Try this just to be sure. Pull the battery, then replace it again. Now try to boot into recovery. Hold Volume Up + Home + Power. When you see the blue text flash at the top of the screen release the buttons.
I know you probably know all this already, but just in case.....
Last question, which rom was it you were trying to flash?
Ill go ahead and get the pit file uploaded for you and let you know what to do once its done.

Ok, sorry it took longer than I expected to get back to you.
Here is the pit file you need.
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23032113221600444
I suggest verifying the md5 on the download page matches the md5 of the actual file you download. This will verify it is or is not corrupted.
This is how to use it (as far as I know). I suggest using Odin 3.07
Open Odin and check Re-Partition, dont uncheck Auto Reboot or F-reset time
Click the PIT button under the RePartition heading, then browse to the pit file you just downloaded and select it.
Click the PDA button and choose the firmware you want to flash.
Click Start.
Please keep a few things in mind. This is considered a potentially dangerous operation. It can Hard Brick your phone just as easily as it can restore it to working condition.
I have never actually done this myself, and information on the process is quite lacking imo.
I have no problem if you want to wait and see if someone can verify that I am giving you the correct directions!!! I would actually recommend it!
And it goes without saying, but you are doing this at your own risk!
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask.
---------- Post added at 04:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 AM ----------
If you want to wait for someone to confirm, try to give it until at least mid-afternoon. Mid-evening is best if you can. There are some extremely smart folks here, but the forum can be very slow lately. There are a few others who do log on everyday to help people out, and if they know about this particular operation, I am confident they will reply. Especially if I got something wrong!
You would probably hear something earlier, but I cant promise because this is something rarely dealt with. Just dont want you to be up for hours hitting refresh!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
Please dont forget to post your results, good or bad or nothing. It can help a lot in case it comes up again in the future.

Did you try this? Or decide to wait and get confirmation?
Anyone know for sure if the steps I gave are correct?

Ok, I am typing up something else for you to try, but from here on, I need you to give a lot more info if I'm going to be able to even try to help. This doesn't give me anything to go on. A copy/paste of what was output in Odin would be a great start!
Please go ahead and post this info.

Please check the attached image, that's what i faced during flashing with odin with the pit file u gave me. But not working. Please help me, i know u can.

Cant believe no one else had anything to add all day!
Ok, first download the firmware from my file host. Sammobile and Samsung-Updates, while great to have, only use hotfile which is extraordinarily slow and imo, prone to download corruption.
UVDMD5 Official Firmware - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22946563261204064
Also download this stock, Odin flashable kernel and recovery I just put together for you.
UVDMD5 Stock Kernel - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23032113221600621
UVDMD5 Stock Recovery - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23032113221600629
Also, check the md5sum of every file you download. If you do not know how go download this free program -> Hashtab
Install it and then you can right-click and choose properties on any file, and you will see a tab called File Hashes. In this tab it will tell you what the md5 of that file is. Copy the md5 shown on the originating download page, then paste it in the box in the File Hashes tab. It will automatically compare the two. If they match you are good to go. If not the file was corrupted during download and needs to be re-downloaded.
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Ok, now, first a couple of questions. When you open Odin, with the phone plugged in, does it say COM# in the upper left box?
Did you use Odin version 3.07 as I suggested?
In your screenshot in the OP you were using 3.04. If not, download version 3.07 from the link in my sig and try again with my previous instructions. If it fails this time, copy/paste the Odin output and post it here.
+++++++++++++++++++++++
If you have done everything so far and still are in the same position, here is the next thing to try.
If at anytime a procedure fails, copy the output and paste it in a post here for me.
Open Odin 3.07
UNCHECK Auto-Reboot and F-Reset Time
CHECK Re-Partition
Click the PIT button under the Re-Partition heading and browse to and select the .pit file you downloaded earlier.
Make absolutely sure that Auto Reboot and F Reset Time are NOT checked!!!!
Click Start
Once complete (verify output says Succeed 1/Fail 0) Flash the stock firmware......
DO NOT REBOOT, DISCONNECT, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THE PHONE.
Still in Odin 3.07
UNCHECK Re-Partition
CHECK Auto-Reboot and F-Reset Time
Click the PDA button and browse to and select the UVDMD5 firmware you downloaded.
Double check that Re-Partition is NOT checked!!!
Click Start
Hopefully this will prove to be the solution! Report back at this point please.
I have a few things I have to take care of, so hopefully you will be done when I get back. But if not I will post the next things to try with the recovery and kernel anyway, just in case it does continue to fail.
Good Luck!

OK, In case the last things I gave you to try, you can try this.
If flashing the PIT file succeeded by itself, you shouldnt have to flash that again. I will write these instructions assuming that part worked. But flashing the stock firmware did not.
Download this custom Recovery (TWRP 2.5.0.0)
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22964708692722240
While in Odin 3.07
Make sure ONLY F-Reset Time is checked
Click the PDA button and browse to and select the Stock MD5 Kernel you downloaded.
Click Start
If it succeeds try flashing the Stock Firmware by itself, following the instructions from before.
If it still fails, Go ahead and download a stock rom such as this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2276645
(any stock based rom would do)
Now flash the TWRP Recovery you downloaded.
Make sure F-Reset Time and Auto-Reboot are checked.
Click the PDA button and browse to and select the TWRP Recovery you downloaded.
Click Start
If this succeeds, it will automatically reboot. It may go to download mode, recovery or hang at boot. If it does anything but boot to recovery, press and hold the power button until it shuts off. Then immediately repress and hold Power + Volume UP + and Home. When you see the blue text flash at the top release the buttons and it should boot to recovery. Now from here, try to flash the Stock Based ROM you downloaded. Once done, Reboot.:fingers-crossed:
After all of this, I am out of ideas. If you are still unable to get your phone to work, you may need to contact someone about a potential jtag repair. If I think of anything else you can try, I will of course let you know.
I am still hoping someone else will jump in to at least let us know if I directed you correctly!!! Hint Hint everyone!!!

[Q] boot loop after using mobile odin...please tell me not hard brick

Hey everyone, first time posting, but followed this forum for a while now.
Ok, so I had been running CM10 on my ICS S3 for a while, but wanted to start fresh and upgrade to JB, and see how I liked it. I followed this link:
androidrootz.c o m/2012/10/how-to-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s3-no.html
to flash my stock ROM back to the phone. (Hope linking is permitted, if not I apologize). I am on Mac and therefore used Mobile Odin Pro to help me achieve a fresh S3. I started at step 4, bc I didn't care to reset my flash counter. Everything was going smoothly until I hit step 15. It's here that the phone will flash the Samsung boot screen momentarily, then show the "blue droid" running script for less than a second, and repeat over and over again.
I've attempted to put it in recovery/download(is there a difference between the two) mode, but the phone repeatedly does what was just described. What options do I have to get this phone back in working order?
Please help me, King Newb, if there is actually any help that can be given. I really don't like using my old iPhone as my primary again. I just want my S3 back, preferably running JB and rooted. Please and thanks guys.
Out.

Actually, you can't post links cause you're a new user.
Here's what you should follow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822308
To get in download mode: Hold Vol down+Home + Power button
To get in recovery mode: Hold Vol up+Home + Power button
Instead of getting CWM, I would suggest getting TWRP, which can be done by downloading goomanager from the play store. (After you're done flashing stock rooted JB from the link above).
I am on Mac, is there an alternative to Odin, or a version that runs on OS X?
Thank you for putting me on the right track

Mobile Odin or Heimdall.
OK, I need a little more clarification. My phone doesn't boot, so are you saying that I can use Mobile Odin right on my Mac, and is it possible to link me to a proper copy of Heimdall? Also, is there perhaps a step by step instruction set for getting me back to a functioning phone? I clicked your link and found a ton of information, but still unsure which set of steps I need to follow.
Thanks again for your patience.

Oh my bad, I replied fast (covering a lot of threads right now). Mobile Odin won't work.. And I haven't seen Heimdall around here. Sorry.
The easiest way would be to use a PC. I'll keep looking for what can be done on Macs (you should do the same )
I followed the steps to the link (used virtual machine) but when I get to the step where you press start, Odin just says "all threads completed. (succeeded 0/failed 0). So I think I'm getting close but not quite there yet.
Would it have something to do with the boot loader option? Just curious because of the boot loop I've been stuck in. Btw, I can't get my phone into recovery mode, however download mode still works fine, if that matters.
Another quick update. I've now been able to get into the phone by holding both volume buttons and the power button. Phone boots normally with cm boot logo. However the phone is completely wiped except for stock apps it comes with. This gives me a little more hope but still not sure where to go from here.
Bump. Can't anyone point me in the right direction? My situation is quite unique, as I have found another person explain it happening to them during my search. Want to get this fixed ASAP.
Thanks!

Flash this download via mobile Odin. Read mobile Odin's directions carefully. You can so keep root of you wanted to through this app. This download will bring you back yo complete stock and will work for you.

I'm having the exact same problem. Is there a solution I need one so bad
I have the same problem as the OP.
I CAN NOT get it into recovery mode.
I CAN get it into download mode.
Is my only option to use ODIN on a windows PC? Does anyone have any clue of what software to download and from where?
Oli
Yeah, I would try that. I'm not to familiar with mobile Odin. I do know that after running certain roms, if you Odin to stock you need to do a factory reset from recovery after the Odin flash.
You're not going to be able to flash stock via odin if you can't get into download mode.
What OS did you come from? What did you do just before this all happened?
Try recovery mode again (vol up + home + power). Release only the power button when the phone vibrates and you see the blue script in the top left corner. Report back
He can get dl mode, not recovery

Maybe you don't have cwm installed anymore since you wiped your phone. Try downloading rom manager and flashing cwm recovery then see if you can get into recovery mode.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
Phone won't boot, can't use Rom manager to flash cwm. I stand by what I said. Flash to rooted stock, use goo manager (or Rom manager) to install custom recovery. Dl and flash Rom.
Mobile Odin works much like the desktop version. The Odin package usually has a recovery so CWM or TWRP will be replaced by stock recovery. Although mobile Odin does have the ability to exclude recovery from the flash. So you will have to get back into down load mode use the desktop version of Odin to stock then flash cfroot with Odin. Now you should be able to get into recovery as cfroot has CWM

If you are stuck in a bootloop after running the recovery file in odin (it's 1.6 GB unzipped), which is the way things sound, pull the battery and go into stock recovery. Do this by replacing the battery, holding volume up, home, and power button until the ble recovery shows in the upper left then let go. In stock recovery, scroll down 9using volume button) to wipe data/factory reset. Coose that option with the power button. You will lose ALL data on your phone and you will have to go thru setup again. When it's done choose reboot in the menu and let it reboot. Don't freak if it takes a while. In a minute or 2 you will see the screen dim and it will boot. Go thru setup, root again, install custom recovery, and if you were wise enough to have done a backup tp your SD card, you can get it back.
Good luck, there are tutorials on Youtube if you care to search for them. Here's a good one -

Good suggestion :good:
I think the issue is that he's making things more complicated than he needs to.
A step by step by the op would be helpful if your suggestion doesn't resolve the issue

Op, you're a little confusing.
Are you able to successfully use ODIN and flash stock firmware, but get stuck in a boot loop or freeze on Samsung splash?
Or ODIN fails?
From you're posts it sounds like both issues are occurring, but I think it's a posting conflict, and your issue is one or the other, unless I'm wrong, which I've been before
when i try recovery it goes to boot saying loading recovery than it goes full off and after boot screen again...i tried twrp and still nothing but the good thing is that odin passed that ..the only thing it didnt fail....maybe i didnt have the right rom ...i am downloading the official i9505 rom and i hope it will work this time....but plz if any1 can help i would apriciate it
Odin problem
I am also having a odin problem. I have tried jdownloader2 as well. Everything is giving me an error on extraction. My phone is stuck on the pulsing T-Mobile 4G LTE. Please help...my wife is looking at me like I just wasted money on a useless brick :silly:
Make sure you guys ODIN the correct Stock Firmware for your model device.
Make sure you ODIN the correct Custom Recovery for your model device.
And if you're Rooting, for example with CF-AUTO-ROOT by Chain fire, make sure you ODIN the proper version for your device.
In addition, check your USB cable to ensure it's working properly 100% of the time and have enough battery juice to perform the above procedures.
Odin problem
I have double check all the stock firmware. Got the files from 247extreme.com, given to me by DarkMenace. Several downloads of the same files...nothing seems to pass the MD5 check. The USB cable is 100%.

I have tried all of those. Everyone is an MD5 error. I feel like I may be missing something. My recovery screen has a android on his back with a red triangle. I can get to the Tmobile screen, should it stay there longer than 5 minutes?

Press Power and Vol up buttons till you see the upper left hand blue script, andtrelease buttons to get into Recovery.

Afterwards, I ODIN'd Custom Recovery, TWRP 2.5.0.2

Cant factory reset my note 3

Hello, I just got my note 3 the other day and I just love it. I just want to be able to get the most out of it that I can. I decided I wanted to root it and put a custom rom on it. I wanted to put the rom wicked because it just looks amazing. Anyways I tried following this tutorial /watch?v=A6qt8sSTKYI (cant post full link) The last step where I had to hold the home, power, and volume up I messed up a bit. I am not sure if it is because I didn't hold them down long enough or what but it didn't work. So when I got back to my phones setting I wanted to factory reset it to start from scratch. When I tried this the phones powers off and then when it powers back on I am stuck in odin mode. The ONLY way I was able to get out of it was taking out the battery for a few secs. Put the battery back in, held down the down volume, home, and power button. Then when that menu came up it said press up to continue or down to cancel or reset. If I pressed up I would be stuck in the odin mode again. When I pressed down the phone then booted fine which was a big relief.
I am just wondering what I did wrong. I really would like to factory restore it before attempting the root again. Maybe this time I can have someone help me on skype? If you are willing to help me that would be wonderful. I will PM you my skype and it will be just through text no voice.
Thank you in advance
I'm just guessing but perhaps you need to just go ahead and flash stock firmware through Odin. Your files or partitions may have got messed up somehow. Its pretty simple. Goto dev section and read up on it. Gonahead and download the files and research while downloading so less wait time.

Yes, flashing anything will get the ticker to 0x1.(although I heard from some people, you CAN reset it, but it's not solid yet)
Now as far as getting to RECOVERY, it's volume UP, home and power, not down. down is download mode, up is recovery. Hope it helps.
---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:52 PM ----------
also, in order to start anything on a brand new device that not rooted yet, you have to install the root BY going through odin, at that point you should google root note 3 and go to the website(which i cant access im at work) is rootgalaxynote3.com. he has the files you need and tutorials to root, AT THAT POINT install goo manager and install recovery, which you need root access to do. when thats done, you can get into TWRP recovery by holding down in this sequence: volume UP,home, power(always hold down power last to make sure it recognizes you holding down the other two buttons) at that point youre all set to flash!

Well, That seems to have worked very nicely
After I did what I said above I was able to factory reset without a problem. NOW, before I go ahead and screw up again what procedures should I take exactly? I was having problems when in the videos they where saying clockworkmod. I had the rom manager and then it wanted me to pick a recovery or something and I was confused. Any tips?

[Q] Someone Please Stop me before I hurt myPhone!!!

Hello. Hopefully, my title was just interesting enough to draw the eye of someone who know much more than I about his custom ROM stuff. Please understand that I am sure that this issue and probably exact question has been asked countless times by the same dummy, like myself, with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. SO...forgive me...I've spent countless hours reading and trying to find an answer on my own but everyone seems to have a slightly different problem, or, have utilized different methods of creating their issue.I'll be brief and ask for someone to please spare a little time to help me resolve this. THank you
Bottom line is that I tried to flash 4.4.2 to my NoteII(sgh-t889). I booted into recovery and did something stupid. I think I loaded the .zip files from the SD card instead of through my PC. Anywho, the phone is now bootlooped with the Cyanogen logo and I can only access ODIN to try and flash a new and proper firmware version. I wiped dalvik and did a factory reset before flashing the new ROM bu I don't think that is relevant because I am quite sure that I didn't install properly.
0
I have looked EVERYWHERE for a downloadable .TAR file to flash with the stock firmware(4.1.2) ...even here(hotfile.com has apparently shut down and all links are a bust) and I am not even sure if that will fix the problem
If anyone is willing to take the time to guide me through the steps to reinstall the stock firmware, point me to alid links for necessary files, and get this thing up and running again, i'll promise to give up on mod'ing my device and just enjoy the hotspot use that I got from rooting the phone in the first place.
BTW...I made a backup using clockwork but I cannot access it.
THanks Again for reading and the anticipated responses. I am sure this is a breeze for most of you but for those of us trying for the first time and learning by internet, this can be a little confusing due to so many differing methods/software. Thanks again.
you can get stock firmwares for ALL samsung devices at sammobile. Search google to access the site. The directions on the webpage to download is pretty straightforward. After you have the appropriate file on your computer, go into odin( give administrator permision) and select the PDA( says CP in some versions) button and select the file you just downloaded. Now with your phone, go into download mode( power home voldown) and when you see an big android and a screen that says downloading , connect your phone to your computer running odin and click start. Wait about 5to10 mins and you will have a resetted phone with stock firmware. If youre stuck in a bootloop just do this again until it works.

Hello. Thank you so much for responding ad so quickly. I can't tell you how much it is appreciated. I probably dont have to explain how lost I feel without my phone.
I tried all instructions provided but I believe that I must have missing something. The file downloaded is a .zip file and I cannot flash a .zip file through ODIN...or can I???? I did not see any .TAR files or others that can be flashed. If there is a simple solution, please respond with what I am doing wrong or where a >tar file can be located that can be flashed through odin to reinstall the stock firmware. I am willing to try any method that will solve the problem. THank you all again for reading and the assistance.
Why not try to get a rom that is 4.3? Maybe you have firmware for 4.3. Otherwise the only thing I could think is that your firmware and rom version isn't matching. I've had it boot loop before and it was usually because mismatch in firmware and rom

ok. I think you downloaded the wrong file. here are the elaborated assistance you might need.
1. go into this link : http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
2. register or log in to the sammobile website.
3. you should have a black box that says <select your firmware> with a bunch of words in it. on the top right of that box, you'll see a box that says <Search device here...> enter you device name(SGH-T889) in that box and you will see your device firmware there. download the software version(android version) you want and press download. you'll have a zip file. you need to extract the zip file, and there'll be an odin flashable file.
*note: download is probably reeeeaaallly slow, so go have a cup of coffee. good luck!
after you've got the file on your computer, follow these instructions:
1. Extract (unzip) the firmware file
2.Open Odin
3.Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
4.Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
5.Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
6.Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
7.Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

Pretty Sure I Hard Bricked - HELP!

Day before yesterday, I tried to go back to stock. Must not have had the right ROM or something. Long story short, phone doesn't turn on. Computer will make a noise letting me know that it has been plugged in though. Under device manager it comes up as...
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)
So, hard bricked? Tried pulling the battery and everything else. So I guess, can anyone point me to a guide or explain here step by step what I need to do? I did some searching and found various guides, all of which seemed to differ. Looking for a good solid answer. I have a Jig on the way but not sure whether or not it will work.
THANKS ALL

As I pointed out there, even though I've never seen it show Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader, it does match what we do often see as QHSUSB_DLOAD.
@nbar7655, you also confirmed the red led in your last post, so yes it is bricked, and as suggested you're only option is to try the debrick method. If that doesn't work, the only other option is a jtag service. The jig, while good to have, will not help in this particular situation.

Thank you. I did make this post just because I felt that it should have a post of it's own and I shouldn't sit on someone else' thread for too long haha.
So, my only option is through the debrick img, correct? Any ideas where I can grab one. I believe I know the steps to doing it. (Throwing it on an SD card) but I seem to find different debrick files all over the place. THANKS!
I agree about not hijacking that firmware thread for this, so no big deal.
This is the thread I was referring you to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47984104
It gets confusing because everyone creates a new thread for every brick just about. But since yours happened while on 4.3, try using the debrick.img provided in the OP.
If it doesn't work, don't give up. Many people have had to make several attempts before it would work. It may seem a lot, but id try at least 6 or 7 times before giving up on that image and looking for another.
OK and just to double check, all I have to do is write the image to the sdcard, pop the SD card into my phone and then (attempt) to power it on?
UPDATE: OH MY GOD! Got it into recovery!!! Where do I go from here? Lmao
UPDAT2: Ok, so I can boot into what looks like stock mode but I am sure that I am only booting from the SD card. So at this point, do I run odin and flash a stock ROM?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA Free mobile app
Im assuming you used the 4.3 debrick.img correct? And is it booting into stock or a custom recovery?
Either way, try to reboot download mode and Odin flash the MJB firmware. (Don't forget to take out the sd card first). Hopefully, after the flash completes it'll reboot right into the OS. You were on aosp before, right? You may need to factory reset to get it to boot all the way.

Where can I find that firmware?
My bad, I am assuming from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540998
If so, what exactly am I grabbing from that?
Also, any files that I grab from there...ODIN doesn't see them because they aren't the correct file types? Maybe I am not grabbing the correct ones?
Well, the firmware I had in mind is the same that is in the thread you first posted in. Try redownloading it and flashing again. Ill try to find an alternative if you prefer though.
I know there is a method where you first flash recovery with odin, then flash the firmware from recovery. Id have to locate the files needed though. (The thread you linked to may have exactly that though. I will look closer in just a bit)
Ok, if you want to try another way, go to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52341560
Download the one that says to flash with custom recovery.
Now, using Odin, flash TWRP or CWM recovery.
Now reboot to that recovery and flash the package you just downloaded.
Factory reset.
Reboot.
If it tries to boot, but hangs or goes straight to recovery, download the other package from that post and flash it in Odin. Then try to reboot again.
Basically, if you follow the instructions in thst post from start to finish, you should be able to boot up to stock 4.3. If you do not flash the last part in Odin (if you stop after the recovery flash), hopefully your device will be able to boot into whatever you last were running. It would probably be best to go back to full stock though.
Good Luck!

If you can't find this for someone you can always PM them and ask if they have a PayPal or other account they can accept donations with.
