Extra Volume button - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just noticed that this button does not work
Once I reboot phone, it starts to work... but only for one call. After that call, it does not work again.
Anyone have this problem? know how to fix this?
Tried to disable the button and re-enable... does not affect it. Still same problem.
Thank you.
it runs JB 4.1.2

There's a button "volume increase" that appears during a call. What's the confusion? Need to read the TOPIC not only the post.

It gets disabled when you use Bluetooth, just fyi.

thanks for attaching the picture...
I do not use Blue Tooth, thus it is always off.

Try unchecking, rebooting, then re-checking the option shown under Phone settings.

Maybe Rom then? I'm sure you're on Stock kernel. Mine never was disabled!

I tried to uncheck, reboot, check it again... same result. It works, then you disconnect, make another call, and it does not work again

I have no idea. It is a T-Mobile (USA) phone... I am not that advanced with stuff like this when it comes to phones.

For T-Mobile, follow the link and basically follow directions for unrooting. It will load stock everything for you. File other directions if you want to root afterwards.

Thanks, but won't it void my warranty? I tried it with another phone, and right after that when I tried to get updates, it said that my phone is not eligible for updates anymore.

Returning to stock will put your phone back in warranty state. Just don't root and you'll be fine.

[Q] Phone locking immed after call

Just as the title says. Whenever I hang up a call, the phone will go dim for about 10 seconds, then lock. It's irritating if i have to make another call right away. How do i get it to just not do anything after a call?
If you want us to help you a few more info would be appreciate. Are you rooted or not? If you're rooted are you on stock ROM? If not on stock which ROM are you using? Are you using a custom kernel.? If so ,are you undervolted, over clocked, under clock, do you have a screen off profile?

No root. 100% stock. Screen off profile? I've messed with the display settings. I can get it to change somewhat. I can get it to go to a swipe to unlock screen instead of my pattern lock screen. But can't figure out how to get it to just do nothing after a call.
HTH.

[Q] phone freeze

I have a S3 I747 the heres my problem is the phone most of the time will not go into sleep mode and not time out the screen and lock up and some times the phone will just lock up while using it. I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off and hit it again to get things to work at times I got to reset the phone to get going like some apps my just not load so resetting the phone is the only option and the app works fine any advise.

Are you on stock ? If so then just do as stated above. If you are rooted, we might need more info.
I installed several roms full wipe and still same thing some roms worst then others but over all same thing
Tried using different scheduler/governor?
Also, are you doing anything specific when it locks up? Any app being used?

4.3 OTA update...acting weird

OK....so, I just talked my wife into updating her GS3 w/the OTA 4.3 firmware. (AT&T I747)
After the update, when she receives an incoming call, the camera flash blinks. Has anyone experienced this????....if so, what did you do to remedy it?

If you go into settings and then accesibility there's an option for camera flash for notifications. Try disabling that.

That's great that you found a solution but that kind of worries me why that setting was enabled without your direct intervention or permission.
Likey was just flagged to on in the ROm itself .

No offline mode at pin code screen.

I have been flashing a few ROM's (I am not done at the moment) and nearly a dollar worth of my prepaid credit has been used because mobile data turns on and starts transferring something to the mother ship (hard resets only or if you flash a new ROM).
Now, even cheap phones have a offline mode (airplane mode) at start up but Android is something special and we dont even get this little feature?. What the hell?. The only fix I can think of is do everything with your SIM out.
Can any one tell me if this "feature" actually existed in any old version?. Gingerbread?. Ice cream sandwich?, or is it present in KitKat?.
I am extremely pissed off though.
Samsung has purposely removed everything else except maybe the shutdown and restart from power menu when you first load stock ROM. Removing the sim may be the only option at first when the Setup wizard is running. Also afaik, KitKat doesn't have such issue.

Auto-rotate not working?

Unfortunately i cant tell if it started with the last OTA or not, but my auto-rotate quit working. I have tried factory resets from both the settings/storage menu and using the power/volume down after phone was powered down. I contacted Verizon and they have had reports of it happening. She continued to say LG is aware of it and says it is a software issue that there will be a fix soon. Is anyone else aware of this problem?
nope. never used a ota cause they try to fix whats not broken most of the time, sorry to hear that has happened to ur phone
