OK....so, I just talked my wife into updating her GS3 w/the OTA 4.3 firmware. (AT&T I747)
After the update, when she receives an incoming call, the camera flash blinks. Has anyone experienced this????....if so, what did you do to remedy it?

If you go into settings and then accesibility there's an option for camera flash for notifications. Try disabling that.

That's great that you found a solution but that kind of worries me why that setting was enabled without your direct intervention or permission.
Likey was just flagged to on in the ROm itself .

I have an epic 4g that has been replaced on a sprint line. I wanted to let the kids use it. So I have it reset and I want to get the updates but I just get an unknown error.
So the question is, is it not possible to get automatic updates over wifi once a phone is no longer on a plan?

That is correct. It is carrier pushed. Flash an FC09 ROM on it.

I think you have to toggle the flash manually for it to work and tiny flashlight is what works.

Im on the stock ICS leak and every now and then my notifications dont ring, calls make no sound , no text sounds no nothing, is there any fix for this?
Either it's on silent, or reboot. I have had issues where my notifications does not vibrate when receiving a text message, but rebooting did the trick.

Yes
Noticed the same problem 2 days ago. It seems, that at some moment phone deep-sleeps, and does not show anything, at the same time, if you try to call it - you hear the tone that nobody picks up, so the phone part seems to be awake.
Also, when you turn it on, the alarm icon and the network signal in status bar flash rapidly, like its trying to show everything i missed. Thats very strange. :crying:

Someone somewhere suggested installing a kernel (like ardatdat) or a rom that has a kernel with it (like dman's or osimood) then trying the stock rom from sammobile.com with oden.
best of luck!

When I tried to do that back to stock I just get stuck at the start up screen asking me to press the android and then the Google services do not respond. You get stuck in a loop of force close after touching the android,

Have you found an answer to this? My wife is having the same exact issue on her stock GS3 from T-mobile. Can't find much about this on the net. She's on her second phone with the same issue.
I just noticed that this button does not work
Once I reboot phone, it starts to work... but only for one call. After that call, it does not work again.
Anyone have this problem? know how to fix this?
Tried to disable the button and re-enable... does not affect it. Still same problem.
Thank you.
it runs JB 4.1.2

There's a button "volume increase" that appears during a call. What's the confusion? Need to read the TOPIC not only the post.
It gets disabled when you use Bluetooth, just fyi.

I do not use Blue Tooth, thus it is always off.
Try unchecking, rebooting, then re-checking the option shown under Phone settings.
Maybe Rom then? I'm sure you're on Stock kernel. Mine never was disabled!

I tried to uncheck, reboot, check it again... same result. It works, then you disconnect, make another call, and it does not work again

I have no idea. It is a T-Mobile (USA) phone... I am not that advanced with stuff like this when it comes to phones.
For T-Mobile, follow the link and basically follow directions for unrooting. It will load stock everything for you. File other directions if you want to root afterwards.

Thanks, but won't it void my warranty? I tried it with another phone, and right after that when I tried to get updates, it said that my phone is not eligible for updates anymore.

Returning to stock will put your phone back in warranty state. Just don't root and you'll be fine.
Hi All,
I just updated to the 4.2.2 OTA, and now once the phone powers on, after about 30 seconds it immediately freezes and turns off. I've tried restarting, pulling the battery and same results.
The phone was completely stock and unrooted prior to the update.
Any ideas? TIA!
Try a wipe in recovery.

If anything fails try a factory reset.
Looks like it may be GPS related. When GPS is turned on, I notice it will Freeze.
I've had improved signal but not receiving calls and texts.

I saw it mentioned that they just changed the way the signal bars display...and that signal itself is not improved...weak sauce!
I just did a factory reset and looks like all is back to normal.
