I jad it turned off and left it plugged, charged at 3:00am today. I woke up 6 hours later and the phone still shows the battery charging indicator. But, when I turned on the phone, it still says "0% connect charger. "
Can anyone tell me why the battery is still at zero? What could be the problem? The USB connection to Laptop works fine, btw.

how did you charge it? usb or ac?
Both. Charged via usb for 2 hours with no gain. AC for 6 hours & no gain.

same cable i assume? was it the one that came with the phone?
with it not charging via usb, i'm not surprised. there isnt a ton of voltage going through when plugged into the computer.
From my past Android experiences, if I remember correctly, a phone not charging while turned off is usually a recovery image issue. Try flashing the stock recovery and see if that solves your issue.
I re-flashed stock ics through odin last night before charging and used htc cable. The phone was running very smooth when battery was partially charged. Now the phone is dead due to power down cause it won't charge. Just won't turn on.

It's the USB port... It have been covered several times here. Do a search and you should find ~30 threads about this issue.

Well, that is quite harsh. I have the same issue now, and it applies to both usb and ac-adapter, with different cables as well.
Specific links please?

You're trying to charge it with a HTC cable? Charge it with the stock charger
Ever tried charging it when its off if you get the charging animation? Then again that is one option.
Another would be to check if you have fast charge option enabled from any kernels.
Its on stock kernel, and yes to all questions you guys asked. I charged it with stock oem samsung cable, while it's on and off. See charge animation when it's off, and when it's on too. The phone does not have root access.

I had a similar problem until recently. I have a GSM GN that I've never fooled with, and suddenly one day it wouldn't charge when I plugged the micro usb port into it. I would have to plug in the micro usb side, then pull and replug the other end of the cable. It was bizarre. I tried other cables, chargers, etc. All the same.
However, I think I fixed my problem by entering the boot loader and restarting it. Power off, then hold power and both volume keys. When the boot loader appears, you can press volume up and down to select "Restart boot loader" and then hit the power key. After I did this, the GN started working normally again.
Hopefully that'll help you fix your problem.

Thanks, worked like a charm!!
Hey guys,
I just upgraded to a Note II from a Captivate. I've had it for about month completely stock, in the last I'd say 3 days I've been having this really frustrating problem. Whenever I go to charge the phone, it will charge for only a second or two and stop. Sometimes it will go back and from charge, stop, charge stop. But also when this happens the phone freezes up. If I have low battery, every time it stops charging that window pops up stating low battery, but I can never close the window because the phone is frozen. The back and menu haptic buttons will not work as well, the only option is to use the physical home key. I have to restart it several times to get it to charge, and make sure the screen turns off since sometimes it won't.
Has anyone else had any trouble like this? Any advice would be great. Thank you!
Factory reset
This sounds like a physical defect to me, the note 1 was plagued with it. Have you tried wiggling the cord in the slot?
Now that I reread your post I would be taking that device into where you bought it and have them document the issue. Since your stock this is an easy process and having it documented at the local retailer will (according to att customer service) increase your chance of getting a new device over a refurb.

I tried a Factory Reset, I plugged the phone in right after and didn't have any problem so I thought okay maybe that did it. Went through the rest of my day without trying again. Now, trying again before bed only to find that when I plug it in now, it charges for a second, stops, then brings up the notification that the dock has been attached. I'll be taking it back to At&t tomorrow and will report my findings. Thanks for the help thus far.

Was having a similar problem with mine. Okay usually when I would charge it it would stop and then restart. Additionally, I noticed that I could not connect to any computer or USB on the go devices as it would not recognize them. In the end I went with my Samsung phone to the service center near me and they repaired a defective module for the USB port on the spot. Now it works like brand-new.
Honestly this sounds like a bad cable. A dirty in port in the phone. Or a wet connection. Try using rubbing alcohol and qtips or smaller cleaners. Give it a couple minutes to evaporate when done. If that doesn't fix it your phone has internal issues. Stock. Triangle away. Ask for a replacement. Will be fulfilled. Especially if problem is provable.

I apologize for the delayed reply. I waited for the phone to do its charging fit at home before taking it to AT&T....twice...I went to two separate stores because both are so close to me, and BOTH times the phone did not do it while charging in their store. I told them I have been using the Samsung charging cable and block, along with some other from different android phones, and all were giving the either stop / start charge with freeze, or the stop/start charge, "dock is connected," freeze. They told me it must be a bad block, and that the other chargers I am using aren't providing enough amps, hence why the phone gets crazy. I just thought to myself, you've got to be kidding me. So I went back, stopped using the block I got with the phone, I found my girlfriends usb power adapters from one of her old Apple devices (...I know right..) and used that along with the Samsung cable. So far, I haven't had a problem with it. I also tried my neighbor's charger from her S3, and that worked fine when I tried it. The phone does still do the described problem when it's plugged into other chargers, even my car charger. I might try cleaning the port itself as suggested and see if that does anything. Also was suggested by the AT&T rep to get a charger that's "high amp," so I'll give that a try as well. It just doesn't seem normal to have to go through all of that trouble though, I don't think Samsung would make their phone not be compatible with other micro usb charger devices?

So I immediately fell in love with the fast charging capability of this phone. Unfortunately ive noticed its not charging as fast as it used to. I ran it down to 2% yesterday and put it on the charge. I get the slow charge in the notification, which ive been getting a lot, so I unplug and replug and it dosent return. 2hrs later I'm at 28%, when I wake up to go to work its only at 91%, problem is I woke up for work at 10 and put it on the charge at like 3:45. Anyone else noticed this?? This isnt the first time its happened just never this bad... I'm using the stock charger. I tried others but same thing. Get slow charge, unplug then replug it goes away havent had a chance to test charge time withem yet tho. I think its the charger but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. I'm rooted and turned the thermal throttleing off. Any ideas?

Did you plug in wall wallet charge or notebook's USB cord? On wall it should charge in 3+ hrs
In my case I just swap the batteries of my F240 and don't know how much time it has to fully charge
Yeah I plugged it into a wall, then this morning i did the same thing and it went from 45% to 95 in 45min... dunno lol I'll try cleaning the leads it spends a lotta time in my pocket and the inconsistancy seems like something stupid like that lol

I've noticed sometimes that if it doesn't make a good connection it will say Slow Charge in the status bar. When that happens I just disconnect and reconnect.

I used a different cable from a Kindle because it was larger. Figured as long as it was connected to the same wall adapter the phone came with it would be fine. Unfortunately it looks like the only way to get the fast charge speed into use LG's cable which is way to short.

That would be weird if the cable had anything to do with it.

Oh I assure you it did for me. Try a generic cable or one from a normally allow charging device for yourself. I haven't tried a cable from any of the other large battery devices yet. I'd imagine a galaxy s4 cable or something would work.

Definitely does! Every android I've had would refuse to charge with the wrong cable. My wife's GS3 cable doesn't charge my phone with the lg charger. It just let's it use the outlet for power. Weirdest thing.:what:

For the record, at work I have a samsung wall charger and a cable from monoprice. It charges quickly, without a slow charge warning. At home, I'm using Samsung wall charger with samsung cable, and the same quick results. It doesn't have to be the stock charger/cable, just make sure it's one of quality.

So I have a galaxy note 3 tmobile and I plug it in to charge via micro USB and it shows the phone is charging but the phone doesn't actually charge? When I try to charge it through the mains whilst turned off, it just vibrates every 2 seconds and shows a line across the screen as though something was going to show but stopped. Kind of thing you would see with a knackered screen. It works just fine when powered on and I don't have a spare battery. I know it's not the cable because I have 3 different ones and it happens with all of them. Anyone know what this is?? Please help

It sounds like a dud battery because of the screen issue you said (Sounds like not enough current is being supplied to the board) , i had a similar problem with my old note 1. Buy a new battery, or borrow someones and see if it works!
I have unrooted stock carrier locked phone but recently my phone has been exhibiting statnge behaviour when charging. This all started happening after I had a big crash after I tried to use HTC connect... Usually when I charge my phone the screen might come on breify by itself once or twice and display that it is entering rapid charging or normal charging. But now I've noticed that the screen comes on at random times and stays on!
Google searches reveled that it can be a settings g in developers menu but I haven't even enabled that!
Another Google's search said it could be a faulty cable but I have taken very good care of my cable being careful to never kink it and when I try to wriggle it it doesn't seem to have a short.
Any help on this would be appreciated thank-you

Check to make sure that there isn't lint or something like that in the port. Something similar happened to me. You can tell if something is in there if you plug the cord in but it isn't seated properly and you can rock the cable back and forth when it's plugged into the port. If so, use a sewing needle to dig it out (power off first). When I did it I couldn't see it in there and didn't feel it at first digging around. After multiple times of plugging it in and having to push it in hard to get a good connection, the lint had packed down and it took a bit of scraping around in there to get it out

Are you using a QuickCharge power adapter? The thing I've noticed, is that with QuickCharge it disconnects and reconnects between 55-65% (and therefore the screen lights up), in order to adjust the power output, so that the battery won't be harmed.

Yes! I am using Quick Charge in fact the stock cable and adaptor that came with my phone and the behaviour you mentioned is correct and it used to do that . But now it seems it is doing that and then the screen won't turn off... actually all this started happening after I had a catastrophic crash when trying to access HTC connect. The phone rebooted then since then, so I may try a factory reinstall although I admit but the two issues might issues might not be connected.

My view is your charger issue.
