I flashed my phone to RhythmicRom and now I need to get my phone into diag or the modem mode. Dialing ##3424# does not work anymore since my update and I would like to find out if there is any way you can enter diag mode without having to revert back to the stock rom.

Is there a way to get my epic running Cm9 rc1 in diagnostic mode so I can swap out PRLS Without having to flash Stock? If not, is there a way to quickly switch between firmware? I think there was a way to load firmware off the sd card but I forgot what it was called. thanks all :cyclops:

Follow the instructions from here.
Well, I sure hope I didn't jack up my new phone for good.
I was using odin to get OUDHS CWM-Based Recovery 1.0.3.3 working.
I booted the phone into download mode, then connected and waited for my phone to be recognized. I selected the correct tar and hit start.
It failed on the first write section, and I couldn't get it to continue so i turned my phone off and tried to boot into download mode again. Now no matter what I do it gives me the "firmware upgrade failed" message and tells me to connect to Kies, but Kies will not detect my device.
Any ideas?
For reference I was following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260031 to the letter.
I will continue to work on this for awhile.

If you can still get into download mode try using odin to flash a complete firmware made for your specific device and obtained from sammobile.com

If I were you I would forget about KIES and uninstall it along with any other samsung applications and drivers
you have on your computer, then reboot your computer and download only the Samsung USB Drivers.
Once you have the latest samsung usb drivers install it and restart your computer.
That way you will have a clean start, and if the screen of your phone displays
anything at all, especially if it displays something about kies then that proves that
your phone will go into download mode if it's done properly.
Press the volume down, home and the power button at the same time until the phone vibrates
and then let go of the power button first before letting go of the other two buttons.
Before you do any of this, you need to download the stock Samsung Jellybean
v4.2.2 M919 MDL Touchwiz Odin flash firmware.
Here is the link to download it: http://k0nane.info/rom/M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB.zip
Here is the latest Samsung USB Drivers download: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...ng_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.14.0.exe
Well did finally get Kies to pick up the phone but it just gets stuck on connecting. How is anyone supposed to do a firmware recovery if the phone cant be connected to?
I will try what you said and uninstall and only install the usb drivers.
And to answer your question I can't get into download mode, it just skips right to the Firmware upgrade error.
Although in the top left of the screen I see this:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-M919
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Official
CSB-OEM_CONFIG_LSB: 0x30
Write Protection: Enable
Does that mean anything?

Then do it the old fashion way, pull the battery out of the phone
and while pressing the volume down/home/power buttons put
the battery back in and see if that gets it into download mode.
(I hope your phone is a Tmobile M919 and not the international version or a variant like the M919V).

Yes, it's is the T-Mobile version. It has the case branding and everything. I got it straight from them.
Ah, that did it! I'm now back in download mode. Thank you.
I'm downloading the stock firmware, it will take about an hour. Should I attempt to flash the OUDHS recovery again, or wait and just flash the stock JB firmware?

You are downloading the STOCK JB firmware now....
After your phone is up and running reboot into download mode and you will need to Odin flash the OUDHS recovery TAR file: http://d-h.st/jTk
Once that's flashed you will need to go into OUDHS recovery and flash this superuser.zip file: http://www.shabbypenguin.com/Android/Scripts/Nexus-Files/Root/Superuser-1.0.1.1.zip
After flashing the superuser.zip reboot the phone.
Just to play it safe, after you reboot the phone reboot it again in recovery and flash this:http://batakang.com/ftp/SGH-M919/ROOT_M919UVUAMDL.zip
This will setup your kernel to be 100% un-restricted so there will be no chance that you will loose root access.
NOTE: If you want to keep your phone STOCK then after odin flashing the JB stock firmware don't do anything else.
Good luck!
Thank you for the help. One question though, Do i continue to use the PDA button on odin for the JB flash like I was instructed for the other thing or do I use the phone button?
FWIW home button is not needed on the S4 to enter recovery or download mode. I love it Just hold down one of the volume buttons as its booting and voila

Use the PDA button. I *believe* the phone button is only for flashing modem files.

I'm trying to goto stock firmware MDL. Downloaded the right 1.7G file and the 3.07 version of odin.
Put the S4 in download mode, but I see auth fail once the ODIN process starts.
I'm reading this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483380
Do I need to do the PIT step as well ? ( If yes, where do I find the stock pit files for the S4 US Tmobile?
I grabbed the SGH-M919-TMB-M919UVUAMDL-1366964131*.md5 to use in odin->pda section
My phone is still bricked. Pls help

Make sure your cable is good and try different USB port on pc.
Also which firmware are you on?
☞ Sent from here☜???
I've used 2 cables already and different USB. . I think the pit file is what I may have to check agian,as this seems debugging ODIN failures. Can somebody post me S4, Tmo 16GB stock pit file?
I'm on MK2 firmware. I'm trying to go back to stock firmware/4.2.2.
The exact err I'm getting is:
---
<ID:0/006> FAIL! (Auth)
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1).

What is the way out here? Have I totally bricked my phone? xda or elsewhere not showing a workable solution yet. (Still searching)
I've updated to the new bootloader and modem which resulted in losing my IMEI. I can't seem to get QPST working because the dial codes don't work on synergies for some reason. Does anyone know how to get QPST working on the UCUFNE4? If so, what rom is it working on?
Thanks in advanced!
What is the baseband showing on your phone? Does it match your bootloader?

I think it would too if the codes would work:
2) Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
The above code does nothing on synergy rom, and I can't odin back to stock since I am on the updated bootloader.
What about flashing a Samsung-based custom ROM in recovery?

Synergy is a TW rom, I will try another.
I think you need a rom with a stock Samsung dialler.

Thats a step closer, it will bring up a menu now, but not corresponding to the guide. It says "Service" at the top and gives me the option to switch between MTP or MODEM. I tried switching to MODEM but QPST still won't detect it.

I am trying to flash the stock firmware in Odin but it always fails. Everything works fine until "NAND Write Start" then it just fails. Any suggestions? I am using the latest version of Odin and the firmware from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/general/odin-stock-firmwares-t3081165
Did you try smart switch?
Remember reading somewhere in the thread about odin failure and finally getting smartswitch to restore phone.
Pp.
Smart Switch won't recognize it.

This is the same exact scenario that everyone else that tries using odin runs into.
Don't think there's anything you can do but wait for a smart dev to figure it out or for Samsung to release the build source that devs need to fix it.
Maybe you have a spare phone to use.
Pp.
I have run Odin and flashed 5.0 a few times and can get into recovery just fine. But I haven't tried Odin 5.1 though.
I have stock marshmallow on my phone and have temp root with using the King root app. I tried to flash twrp but when I try to access it says boot verification fail. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi, I solved my Problem bei using Google Universal USB Drive. There it's possible to specify your item and edit the right ID's. There is a description in the net. After the USB ist connected now, you can normally Flash your Gadget.
