[Q] Nexus Sim Connector Damage - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi. Been searching the forum but couldnt find any related posts.Sry if im wrong. I have a galaxy nexus and bla bla after a while i changed from a normal sim to micro sim,so i bought a "connector" or so,to adjust the size, put it in the sim slot of my nexus, but, there was some resistance...so eventually the phone didnt recognize the sim,and i noticed that i broke a litte connector piece in the sim slot( three litte things, one is broken now); so the phone wont recognize my sim. Anyone has any idea if there is smth i can do for myself to fix it? Or where i could go(shop for mobile phones etc) ,and an estimate on how much that might cost?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Need a motherboard xperia play

Ok so the Sim tray in my Play is buggered
So am after a new motherboard ... or possibly a new sim tray anyone got one ?? what would b the price for either parts
If not am open to sell the phone as is.... everything else works perfectly and everything is intact, will include box and accessories Make me an offer for it
You can just replace the SIM module, i doubt you need a new mobo. Try eBay

yea thats what i thought... had a look on ebay but no luck
So am still in need of a sim tray rather than a motherboard... didnt particularly want to replace the whole thing anyway
did find sim tray module for a blackberry TORCH 9800 & 9810
This looks quite similar to the play one ... will that one work on the the motherboard ? or does it have to be a SE play one ?

[Q] Is it possible to replace the GSM antenna for HTC wildfire?

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to replace the GSM antenna on my wildfire. If yes, does anyone know or has anyone managed to do it? Any help would be appreciated.
Extra info:
This is my first post. I have searched xda-developers for a problem similar to mine but am fairly certain that there is no info on it here.
So here goes, a few months back, I broke my HTC wildfire after which even when I plug in a working sim card, it shows no signal.
When I took it to a repair shop, they said that the antenna is broken n there is nothing else that can be done other than replacing the phone.
However, if I put in a sim card of another carrier, it does recognize it and asks for an unlock code because my phone is locked to a specific carrier.

i dunno pal, i get the feeling that it may be soldered to the board. and tbh your phone if network locked,it would come up saying you need an unlock code for different sims even if it couldnt get a signal, as it is software related.... now if it GETS signal with a sim that is a different story, but i wouldnt hold out much hope for it sorry bud.

Galaxy Nexus won't read any SIM

Hi forums,
I recieved my Galaxy Nexus i9250 european GSM/HSPA+ Version today (Just the tether-slave for my N7 and a phone obviously) but now I have the problem that it won't read any SIM i put in it, I've tried 2 Vodafones and 1 T-Mobile (all 3 are working perfectly fine on other Phones) the problem is that it won't know if it has a SIM in it or not, I don't have to enter a password when I boot up or go out of airplane-mode, I can't connect to any networks or change APNs and I can't change the SIM-PIN (no option for that)
What I've tried so far:
I got it with 4.2.2, I've flashed 4.3 several times, did factory-resets, OEM-Lock and unlock, flashed a few different basebands. I also tried to bend the Pins a little bit upwards, they definetly have contact with the SIMs.
I have no idea what else I could do, I have about one year of warranty left over, should I use it or is there a way to fix this issue?
Thanks for your time and help in advance!
Greetings from germany.
The SIM tray is busted. I'd get a refund if I were you.

Indeed it was, 3 whole pins were missing! I just took the pins from an old phone and soldered them on there, now it works but That's only a temporary solution, I ordered a whole new Sim-tray and will give the phone to a friend with proper gear for this kind of stuff (really annoying to try and do it with a big soldering iron...)
Warranty might be screwed now but I'm not sure if I would have gotten a replacement at all, I guess not but anyway, I waited two weeks for this baby and didn't want to send it away again but I don't recommend doing this at all
Thanks for your help!
Oh and BTW I figured out what might have caused that, I used a micro SIM in a mini-SIM-Adapter, not such a good idea since this makes the card much thicker, I think that killed it. Ordered a new Sim as well.

dual sim adapter

I used to switch the SIM cards manually in my old GNex, but this has become much less convenient with the SIM tray in Nexus 5. So I've decided it's time for a dual SIM adapter. Such as magic-sim, for example?
Has anyone tried it? Is it convenient to use? Does it fit with all cases? What about standing cases such as this one?
I am curious about this too. The magic sim says it is compatible with the Nexus 5 but I wanted to know if anyone had tried it.
Has anyone managed to get this and have it working?

I have the dual sim adapter that I originally was going to use for my nexus 4 but never tried to do the dual sim.
I've been trying, without success, to put where the sim and the piece under where the info of the sim card reads but keeps saying no sim card. I do have an easy time pulling the sim card out with the piece on the adapter. Keep watching youtube videos but I dont know if I wore out the electro thingies, dont know the technical term, when trying to match.
Does anyone else have any info / experience with a dual sim adapter for the nexus 5
I am in a situation where a second sim would help me out, but i dont want to have to manually swap them out.
Same here, I'd like to use a second sim in my phone if possible... Anyone know if this works?

I just got the magicsim none cut model today. Its works fine switching between 2 gsm networks but the STK menu won't appear when using a sprint Sim and also data doesn't work with a sprint Sim installed. Guess I'm out 50 bucks....

Thanks for the reply! As I'm in Europe and therefore only ever on GSM networks, I wouldn't be having those problems I guess...
Could you please post some pictures of the adapter and SIMs installed in your phone, please? I have literally no idea how the hell these things would work, or how you'd even get the things into your phone to start with.
Thanks!

I could post some this evening for sure.
It gets placed over the microsim in your phone then they together get put in the Sim tray and then folded over. Its paper thing so you slide that into the phone so you then have the second Sim dangling around. You put a full size Sim in slot two and bend it over the back side of the phone and sandwich Sim two in between the phone and a case. Its fairly thin and fits with the play store bumper well with just a little bulging.

So you tuck the second SIM in a case, instead of the phone itself... Thought as much, I had no clue as to how it would work otherwise.
Shame, actually, because I don't use a case (anymore).
I thought I could take the battery cover off and tuck it in there but the vibrator motor is in the way for it to tuck underneath
Hey guys,
I was wondering if there was any success in making the nx5 dual sim ready?
Cheers

Dual SIM adapter from .magic-sim com
Hi!
I've purchased Dual SIM adapter from magic-sim.com
It said the adapter was compatible with Nexus 5.
But now I realized that the phone does not have STK (SIM Tool Kit) - the application to switch between SIMs.
But it seems that the Nexus 5 detects the adapter because after applying it "SIM-1" appeared on top of the display.
So how to switch between the SIMs???
Mine has sim toolkit installed, stock rom.

Micro SIM stuck - help required please

Hello,
So i managed to get a simcard with free data on it, the only thing I had to do was cut it into a micro SIM but I didn't want to wait for a cutter to arrive in the post off eBay etc. So I used a template that i found online.
Unfortunately, because of my rubbish cutting skills the SIM is now stuck in the tray and it won't come out. I think it was too wide and when I put it in, it didn't actually click the the SIM should.
I've tried tweezers and a safety pin but had no luck. Initially the tablet was reading the SIM but it won't anymore. I don't care about that all I want to do is remove the SIM.
Does anyone know how I could possibly remove the sim? There is pretty much no room around the sim in the tray. Looks like I'm stuck.
It's the 8.4 inch screen version tablet if that helps.
Many thanks

I got the same problem when i cut my standard sim..i dont have any template with me, only a spare micro sim. It got stuck as well. But what I did was pushbit further in first (to unlock the sim) then use a sharp cutter/xacto-knife to carefull pull the sim out.
I saw your PM and the instructions on how to open the back cover is in the "battery draining" thread. You need a prying tool that looks like a guitar pick. Simply work your way around starting at the bottom USB port.
Best luck mate
Hey, really appreciate your response, thank you.
If i can't get the sim out using a knife, will i be able to get it out by taking the back cover off? I was wondering if you get any better access to the sim slot by taking the back cover off?
Thanks again

I cant tell for now but most of the micro sim slots i see has a small hole at the other end where you could poke your sim with a needle or pin.
I couldn't manage to take the back off so I'm just sending it back to Samsung on the grounds of poor battery life and deformed back cover. I've asked them to remove the sim too which they said they would do.
I got too scared trying to take the back cover off myself and it seemed as though I needed to use quite a lot of force. I'm not sure how you managed to get in there with just a guitar pick!
I tried the knife idea too but the sim is well and truly stuck!
Thank you again for your help and advice
