It all started last night, my phone no longer connects to the Sprint network. When I try to make calls I get this error "The number or code you entered is incorrect" when someone calls me they get the same error. I have flashed a stock image through odin and its back on ICS but I get a SIM card error and the phone refuses to connect to Data. I am at a loss on what could have caused this but my phone is useless at this time and I am pretty pissed. My phone worked great no problem until I attempted to use Google Voice and that is when I lost Data and Voice function. I have removed my phone number from google, disabled GV and even changed my phone number but the problem still exists. If someone could shed some light on my problem I would greatly appreciate it!
PS: Sprint claims its a tower issue but my other devices work just fine.
Try ##72786# in the dialer. It'll force the phone to reactive everything

How is being rooted going to fix this?
I have gone 100% stock all the way to ICS. I then rooted, updated to MD4 including the radios and firmware. I have data now but still no calls or texting. I have edited the MDN and forced reactivation. They guy last night said it was a tower issue but I'm now 35 miles away and I highly doubt the same problem exists here. My girlfriends phone works no problems at all. It has to be an account issue but no one at Sprint cares to help...

Update prl And profile. Or try changing your network to cdma only reboot then switch to cdma / lte.

I don't see the prl/profile update fixing it as the dialer trick shouldve covered that. The other suggestion above might help tho. I'm also thinking maybe dialing *720 and *730 to make sure gv is all the way diabled.
Just get this when I make calls... "The number or code you dialed is incorrect, message 7 switch 180."

Have you ever changed your number on sprint b4? Maybe it's a glitch on their end due to the number change just not settling in yet
I did about 2 years ago... all I can do is wait til they ooen and give them a call. I had to bring my girlfriends phone to work with me so I can check in with the office. Guess ill give them a ring in a few. Its just odd that data works without an issue. ..
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
If your data is working fine then I have to call it their issue for sure. Which would make sense as data could be working based off of account info rather than your number. Where as if you make a call your actual # comes into play. Could be wrong here just a theory. But best of luck I'll post if I think of something else but I bet u this fixes itself
Ill keep ya posted, thanks for your help.

Glad it's working and for future reference I found this looking on sprints site.
"Looking at the tower nearest you it appears to be performing properly When a tower goes down you will not hear any error message.* The message* is a function of the switch where the wireless system connects to the wire system.** Do you get the message with every number you call or just some numbers?* Can you call (888)-546-0314* That is a sprint test number."

Hey Everyone! So I'm having this problem where my phone will NOT ring or show that someone is even calling. The only way I found out that someone called me is when they text me asking why I didn't answer them. Well, my simple answer (that people are starting to not believe) is that my phone didn't even show that someone was calling... This wasn't so much an issue before because they could always text me if they needed to get a hold of me. But now after to applying to many places for a job, I kinda need it to ring. I also have another issue and that is that texts will not receive either. The only way I can get them is through Google Voice. This wasn't such a big deal to me but I would like to know if that can be fixed too. I have never had this issue until after I tried CM9. Since then I have tried many other ROMs to see if i still had this issue. I did.
The other ROMs I tried are:
MIUI v4
AOKP
Clean GB
Marcusant v3
MIUI Gingerbread
CM7
Legendary
What my current setup is:
ROM: AOKP
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: S700.0.5S.EI22
Kernel Version: [email protected] #6
Build Number: IML74K
Mod Version: aokp_epicmtd_build-28
Theme: NONE

I did this and (sorry for taking so long to get back to you but i wanted to make sure that it was happening often and not just once in a while) it worked for the phone ringing but the messaging, although im receiving them, they come late. sometimes VERY late like a whole day later. This is not cool and would really like to find a solution because i dont want to have to be stuck on stock :'( Oh yeah btw the ROM i flashed this time was AOKP. Thank you for the help!!
I believe late texts are a symptom of carrier network issues. It should clear up when the maintenance is finished.
Sent from my PantechP4100 using xda premium
I am having the same issue with the phone calls either coming in late or not at all. I test this by calling my number from a land line. It takes 4 - 5 rings before the phone will start ringing, if it rings at all. Most of the time, Google Voice answers for voicemail.
I remember back in the days when I had my Windows phone, there was something that we could do to have the phone poll the towers more often to make the phone ring faster. I know that this faster response to phone calls came at the expense of more battery usage. I wonder if some of the battery saving tweaks done by the ROM developers has had a negative effect on the phone calls coming in.
I have tried updating my PRL and whatever through EL30, then reflashing with out restoring any data. Still having the issue.
Thanks.
this same thing is happening to me and everyone else in my neighborhood that has sprint. Its one specific tower that's causing the issues. I know this because once I connect to a different tower the issue goes away. I contacted sprint about it and they said they would fix it when they do the network vision upgrades, which could be a ways away.

I kinda thought it was a problem with the network and so i called them and last time they sent me a airave and it didnt solve the problem. I still think its a problem with sprint overall and am planning on calling them.
I have the same exact problem. I have even had the phone replaced and it still does it. I only know when it happens because google voice logs the missed call. I have had it happen with a completely stock phone as well as rooted.
It is very frustrating because like you said, people don't believe you when you say that your phone did not ring.
They are actually going to switch my phone again. I know this is not going to fix the problem, but I will play the game!
So I have been using ICS starting with FD05 upgraded to FD10 and started having issues a few days after i upgraded... until today I cant make any calls but only in roaming mode... downgraded to EL29 and even went completely stock with no root to see if I could get a system update or anything.. and no luck.. sometimes it will let me update prl and profile.. but other times it errors out...also for a second it seemed if I turned off 3g service my calls work connect to sprint service.. but I couldn't simulate that so called fix again..
my plr is 60686 near the Seattle area if that makes any diff...
missed a call from work and almost lost my job because of this... any help would be great...
I seen some new post about prl... but nothing really what I am experiencing..

Your post was a little hard to follow. You have used the one-click odin to go back to a stock rooted rom and are still having problems, is that correct?
Try this
##72786# then enter your MSL code then click okay to reset data. This will only reset and re-provision/activate your phone to Sprint. This will create a new profile on Sprints network and will give you any new network settings that may have changed in your area
1. Download "Terminal Emulator" from the app market.2. Open Terminal Emulator.3. type in getprop ril.MSL (make sure the .MSL is capitalized)4. Press enter and poof, you have your MSL code.
Helps to not use swype .....while doing this as Swype will capitalize the i in ril

So basically... Last week i was running ICS FD05 for a few days and then upgrade fresh install to FD10 ICS... Monday this week I missed a phone call around 5AM for my work.. didn't think about it much...
but yesterday I was having issues with getting text and sending them... with double sending and just not sending at all.. so I figured maybe its the new leak that messed up so I went back to stock rooted EL29 with one click (done it before several times) but went I went back it seemed that I cant make phone calls to my Voicemail or anyone else for that matter unless I was roaming...
I have tried flashing back to an ICS build and that hasn't helped... also I reinstalled a 60686 prl from a post in development (thought that my prl was corrupt) and also did a factory reset with my MSL number like Epix4g told me to do.
and No never used google voice at all.. was thinking about it after this fiasco... but staying away till i get a better picture of whats going on

FYI, I can relate with you. For the last several weeks I can't recieve phone calls or voicemails. The problem has been intermittent. Calls drop straight to voicemail and I'll get the visual voicemail notification hours later.
I can't blame this one on ICS, I've been using GB roms and it's happened on several (worth a try). But I swear it started happening after I thought I'd give Gvoice a try. Getting rid of it is a different conversation. I've been back and forth with Sprint a few times too. Just got off of the phone a few minutes ago because it happened again today.
Keep me apprised too.
I don't have any problem with gv but I don't inter grate it with sprint I just use the voice mail part ....when u first install just click skip and then go from there .... I hated it making u hit 1 to answer and the look of the text part ....it is OK for just voicemail though to me

so im going to give sprint a few days to fix their tower before I give them hell for bad service... thanks for your help all
Update to my problem
So if anyone cares I still don't have a native signal from sprint in my house.. they say that are still working on it and cant find the problem... so sprint tech support sent me an Airave ... hooked it up today... I get full bars now and pretty clear signal (just don't stand in front of it) and best of all no fee and no monthly charges unless you have an issue with credit then they charge you 5 bucks a month
the only things that suck with this is that when you make or get a call it has 3 beeps (letting you know that you are on the Airave signal)
also if you are roaming you get the same 3 beeps but you have a triangle above your signal bars
but non the less no more dropped calls from my house and has built in GPS
So if you have a weak signal or or none at all this might be right up your ally.
It seems that you get your signal from your high speed internet so make sure you have that before getting an Airave... thanks for all your help!
I apologize in advance if this is a thread somewhere I couldn't find it.
I was recently using CM9 alpha3 on my E4GT, and last night suddenly I wasn't able to make calls. It says "we're sorry but we can't complete your call right now" or it just instantly hangs up. I thought it may have been an issue with the rom or modem, so I went back to Calkulin's GB EL29 ROM. Same issue, even after resetting PRL and profile multiple times with phone restarts. I can send and receive texts, and I can receive calls, but I can't make calls. Another thing to note is I use an Airrave in this house, I tried resetting that as well, and dialing *99 which is supposed to also refresh or reset it. None of these tactics have worked and I was wondering what else I could try. Thanks again in advance!

possibly Blacklisted
expanding on the previous post..
Did you get the phone direct from SPRINT. or via ebay or at a pub?
Bills paid?
are you the only registered owner of the handset?
people will sell you a phone, then after a little bit of time passes. they register the phone as LOST/STOLEN/DAMAGED the network Blacklists it and provides the fraudster with a shiny new handset.
you end up out of pocket without a working phone.
its an increasingly popular fraud technique I'm afraid.
Silly question but it needs to be asked, are you sure it wasn't something with the number you were calling? Did you try calling several number?
Airrave services are having issues. Power it off for a day.

The bill is current, I have called multiple numbers, both on the sprint network and others neither has worked. I have other family members in the household on the same plan using the airrave and they are able to make calls. I bought the phone directly from sprint brand new from the store with my 2 year contract.
Why don't you use sfhub's one-click EL29, get yourself back to simple stock rooted and see if it clears up the issue. It's always my fall back whenever something goes awry.

Don't reflash Calkulin's ROM until you've been able to recover your voice calling services. Both CM9 and Calkulin's ROM are custom, so maybe that's where the problem is coming from. You need to get back as close to stock as possible then see if the problem persists.
Go back to EL29 (plain stock or stock-rooted), see if everything is working then you'll know if maybe it's something in the flashing process that is knocking out the voice calling.
I'm also having the exact same issue with my airave. If I unplug it I'm able to make calls without a problem. So as someone else posted I believe the airaves are having issues today. But I am on the stock FD26 ICS if anyone else is having the problem and thinks it has anything to do with the leak.

Yeah I unplugged the airave and I walked far outside to get a bar and was able to make a call. Didn't think it was the culprit because other family members can make calls with it, they have different phones though.

I've recently been having issues when calling certain numbers that my phone either starts ringing a few times then I get a busy signal or sometimes just a busy signl right away.
I know I'm not blocked from these numbers because one of the numbers is my gf and the other one of my close friends.
Now both my gf and friend have Sprint as well as myself. However, I can use my gf's phone to calll my number and she doesn't get a busy signal. And, if I call her phone from say a Verizon phone it rings normally.
This started happening very recently right before I upgraded to JB. I'm stock rooted.
Any ideas? I am thinking of calling Sprint to see if something is going on on there end.

Have you made any progress on this?
I have an EVO 4G LTE,, my wife has an EVO 3D - both stock and unrooted.
I can call anybody but her - I get a busy signal. -= maybe for the last 4 days, (Hurricane Sandy related?)
Anyone else can call her without a problem
I can call anyone else without a problem.
I can text her just fine.
On her phone, I blocked my number from calling her - when I did that, I went straight to her voicemail. When I unblocked it, back to the busy signal.
I deleted my contact from her phone and Google account - no change
I spent 20 min on phone with Sprint Tech support- we restarted both phones, reset voice services on both phones, pulled her battery - none of this did anything.
The rep told me to either hard reset her phone, or to go to a store with both phones.
So, I hard reset her phone. I logged into her google account and did nothing else.
I called her from my home phone - call went through. I called her from my EVO - call went through!!!
So, feeling cocky, I saved my number to her phone as a new contact. I called her again - BUSY SIGNAL.
I deleted myself from her contacts again - no change
I have hard reset her phone twice more tonight - both times I just got the busy signal.
Anybody else have any thoughts?

Im having the same issues when I call my wife's phone. I have Google Voice. Is that the problem?
Yes, had the exact same issue on my sgs2. Thought it was sprint, but after disabling Google voice the issue was resolved. I added it back about a month later with no issues.

Had this problem as well. Originally had evolte, sprint kept telling me it was network related. After two weeks I finally went to a corporate store and they ported my number to a different phone and called the numbers that where getting busy signals, and it worked. So they said it was my phone not the network. Sprint wanted to give me another evo, this would be my fourth evo, I decli ed and said I wanted a different phone, after much arguing sprint agreed to let me switch to the gs3. Came back two days later to pick up phone, after activating the phone I called the same numbers and STILL COULD NOT CALL THEM. Wtf. So they blamed google voice and said to try deleting it, if that did not work then call cust. Service. Deleting google voice did not work. So I called cust. Service they said after explaning what was going on cust.u Service said this was a known issue and did not know what was causing it and had no estimate when it would be fixed. She asked for the numbers that I got busy signals on and then offered a fourty dollar credit a month for four months. Wierd. Today I could call one of the numbers and it went thru. Havent checked the rest yet.

It is not google voice. Sprints network is the problem. They are aware of this. If you have problems call them and give them the numbers you cant call. My problem seemed to be fixed on sunday.

Sorry for the delayed response. I didn't see much going on with this thread for a while so I thought I was just having a isolated issue.
Turns out the issue is a common Google Voice issue atleast if you have integrated your Sprint and Google Voice number into one.
I got rid of my Google Voice integration and am now back to the "lite" version where you have your regular Sprint number and a separate Google Voice number and the problem has totally stopped.
The reason I say it's a common issue is because people are posting about this in the official Google Voice support forums.
I wish I would have checked there first because it would have saved me a lot aggravation.
Anyway, try un-integrating Google Voice and see if that helps.

Using Google light and separating the numbers did not work for me I even uninstalled Google Voice completely and it did not work it may be true that Google Voice is having issues as well but the current issue is a network issue at least it was for me as a previous poster said mine started working on Sunday at least I got a Samsung Galaxy 3 and a 40 dollar credit a month for 4 months out of the deal

Greetings!
I recently rooted my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II with a toolkit, and it seemingly deactivated my phone, so I couldn't make calls, send text messages or use 3G at all. Every time I would reboot my phone, It would try to do a "Hands Free Activation" and fail.
Since then I have unrooted my phone and restored it to stock, but it still seems deactivated. I can't make calls, send texts or use 3G, and I also still get the "Hands Free Activation" and it still fails every time.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Call sprint or take it to a sprint store.

I called Sprint and they walked me through a ##72786#. I did not help, I am having the exact same problems.
I had the same issue, even was on the sprint for 45 minutes to no avail. Used Odin to flash back to stock/rooted and was good.

I have tried flashing back to stock rooted, and it still runs the hands free activation and I don't have service.

Which .tar file did you use? I tried several until this one worked for me. SPH-L900_MA5_853599_Rooted_Restore.tar.md5. Erased everything and Then was able to flash an updated version and keep data.

Ok, so I used the tar file you used, and it no longer attempts to do the hands free activation.
I seem to be recieving a few text messages, but it seems delayed and sparatic. Phone calls made to me go straight to voicemail. Phone calls I make go through occasionally. I can use 3G for internet access.
In my notification panel, my service bars jump from zero to full quickly, and frequently. It usually sits on zero bars.

Have them try manually programming your phone. They will need you to dial ##MSL#, then tap EDIT, input your MDN (Phone number), MSID (Network routing number) and then select DONE. The phone will reboot, but all of the correct info will be stored in the phone and it shouldn't have an issue with hands free.

With HFA you shouldn't need manual programming as long as the MEID is still set.
Try ##72786# (##SCRTN#) to force HFA and allow the profile/PRL to update.
Also run the MC2 One Click with the change ID in the name (number) to update everything if not already on MC2.
That should get you going again.
If you see HFA pop back up let me know.

That was the issue he was having is that HFA wouldn't complete, and so his phone wouldn't fully provision. If he manually programs then it can skip HFA and should work without it.

In my experience it's not that easy anymore. Manual provision may not allow a profile update, at which point you now have to manually key in AA/HAA keys. And that's not even addressing the LTE SIM.
In this person's case a MC2 one click and the carrier partition fix ought to have done it either way. Feel free to research what we've done so far on related issues if you question why I gave this answer. I have older threads explaining the problem.

First I'll preface this with the fact that I'm not doubting you in the least, you may be correct, and since OP hasn't responded I don't know. Your thanks meter is through the roof, which tells me that you know your ****, so I'm not questioning you. What I'm trying to do is explain it from the way I see it. I have to deal with issues like this at last 50 times a day. People call in because they can't get their phone to provision over the network and I have to troubleshoot and get it working. 999/1000 times it comes down to a provisioning delay or an issue with service. Without knowing the specifics I can't say if that's the cause of his issue or not. What I can say is that I can count on one hand the amount of times I have had to open a CTMS ticket for provisioning. If I can't get SCRTN to work, then I refresh OMA and power cycle, then try again. If that doesn't do the trick then I manually program. When the phone comes back on I have them wait at least a minute, ensure that there is signal and a 3G/4G logo, and have them test. 99.9% of the times the phone works. That's why I suggested manual programming, And then if there is an issue with PRL I'll have them connect to wifi and update again, but rarely have I had an call where not having a current PRL meant that the phone wouldn't provision. Unless he went and manually wrote an archaic PRL in himself then anyone that is already loaded in should work just fine.
TL;DR: Basically, what I'm conveying in this wall of text is that manual programming negates the need for HFA. They both do the same thing, but SCRTN trusts that the network is working, and then automatically updates the PRL, Profile, and Firmware, all of which you can do manually once the correct MDN and MSID are in place.
Can anyone tell me how to update manually update prl on sprint note 2?
