Fastboot getvar version-main
Its important to get the right info first ....
Also do

I don't have much faith in apps like cidgetter if you used that

Then try to restore the matching nandroid from here

I say flash the custom recovery again, flash the boot.img from the nandroid, do a FULL wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid backup
Check if that works !

yes i realized it abit late, i downloaded the official uodate (364 MB) in the system update and installed it, but when installed it the phone just restarted and nothing was changed ! i think its because the downloaded update was for 3.14.707.24 software version but mine is 2.17.707.3
so to get this strait, you restored the 2.17.707 nandroid, reflashed the stock 2.17 recovery. did an update to install to 3.14.707 but the software did not change....and you did not have any errors on installing the update ?
check for updates manually again and update again....

Hi,
I currently running ARHD 18.1 Rom with the stock rom provided. The issue i have is when i try to install any other kernal for this rom, i loss my mobile network, wifi, etc.
I assumed the issue was due to the incorrect hboot (I'm currently on 1.28). I see 1.39 is out for my CID. So was thinking of flashing that. Was wondering if it was just good enough to go to fastboot and flash this new hboot 1.39. Or do i have to wipe my device, flashboot the new hboot, recovery, boot, rcdata.img? And then re install the ARHD 18.1?
Thanks in advance
Well you can go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Download the matching firmware for your CID, obtain the correct cid with a fastboot command
Fastboot oem readcid
When you have the correct firmware you rename the package to firmware.zip
Then you put the phone in the bootloader and lock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Then you perform the firmware flash
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Before the flash you don't have to wipe anything. Just lock the bootloader and perform the hboot firmware flash.
After that you unlock the bootloader and flash the rom again with a full wipe.
Edit : about the kernel thing, when you change kernel (boot.img) you flash the boot.img and then install the .zip file in recovery to add the right modules to the rom

Well yeah it should. The newer hboots should have a bit better performance. See it like the bios from a pc that gets updated. So in a way yes ! But if i noticed it actually.....no not really ...

The problem with that ruu is that is has to jump from a very low hboot to a high hboot. It doesnt work somehow
Download this one
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...12-radio-2120413520-release-274900-signedexe/
Then put the phone in the bootloader and relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
After this you keep the phone in the bootloader and execute the ruu from the pc with admin rights
Right click the ruu and select - run as administrator.
After all this you boot the phone and update via the settings - software update menu to Jellybean stock.
Then unlock the bootloader again and flash a custom recovery , make a nandroid backup and flash a new JB rom of your choice

Do all the ota's you can get !!!

Hi, I'm heading back to stock JB Sense from the original JB Maximus rom (which worked very well). I relocked in fastboot and went to flash original RUU (3.14.401.31) and I got the error message to use the correct RUU. My cid is HTC__001, it's from Clove UK. Do I need to change the HBOOT? It's from the first Maximus JB rom. It's just booting to the bootloader now. Thanks for any help!

Thanks very much!
Firs you need to update your firmware to 3.14.401.31 with Hboot 1.39..
Download (firmware): http://www.androidrevolution.nl/downloader/download.php?file=3.14.401.31.zip
And then run this RUU:
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Hi, thanks very much, that was the RUU I used but I'll try with that firmware and report back. Cheers for the prompt help!!
Hi, I've downloaded the firmware a few times but when I try to flash it I'm getting "cannot determine image filename for 'firmware.zip'
I moved the firmware download to my fastboot folder and renamed it firmware.zip. Then I did "fastboot flash firmware.zip" < EDIT YEP THAT was the problem
Thanks again!
Honestly at this point I'd just even go back to Maximus 4.1 at this point, but those threads all disappeared.
EDIT: I got the firmware updated, now going for the RUU
Got the RUU installed, thanks very much vin4yak. Now the screen is flashing (flickering) on the sides once it booted, do you have any idea what I can do about that? I'm happy to install a different Sense rom if that helps.
Hey there,
similar problem: I have 3.09.401.100 as well, flashed the firmware successfully, relocked, tried to run the appropirate RUU but got a signature error (132) while it tries to send the it to the phone. I have the appropriate CID HTC___102 for the RUU etc. My HBOOT is 1.23.0000 - could that be a problem with the RUU? Any insights?
Thanks in advance

That's what I got the first time I tried to run the RUU, before flashing the new firmware. You may need firmware with a higher HBOOT to use this JB RUU. Once I flashed the firmware above, the RUU in this thread worked fine. I'm having some flashing now but heck, I had that when my phone was stock when I first got it, heh. I remember that issue now!

Glad you sorted it out mate!
if you had just gone to stock to update... Then I will recommend you to use a custom sense rom if your attached to sense that much!
Use ViperX... It needs Hboot 1.31 at least..
Steps for flashing are the same as any other rom...
1. Wipe Data..Wipe Cache...Wipe Dalvic Cache... Or use Super Wipe Script(Recommended) : https://www.dropbox.com/s/0y31poo1kiaif4y/Super wipe script.zip
2. Flash rom. Flash Patch. (Check ViperX Thread)
3. Reboot.

Hey there,
it sounds as if the HBOOT is in fact my problem. Quick question: How exactly did you flash the firmware, especially the HBOOT? I flashed the boot.img and recovery.img via command since I have no SD card access, but this doesn't seem to have changed the HBOOT.
Thanks again
Froschfinger
Relock the bootloader:
"fastboot oem lock"
Reboot RUU:
"fastboot oem rebootRUU"
Flash the firmware:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
You might get an error the first time you do it... try again until you get a successful message.
After successful flashing...
Go to fastboot again,,,
Now if you want to install a custom rom, you need to flash custom recovery by unlocking the bootloader... or if you want to go full stock then run the RUU...
Hey vin4yak,
that was the missing piece in the puzzle. Flashing the whole .zip file. Finally I got it working - thank you so much!!!!
All the best

Hi!
I need a help.
1. I have S-ON device
2. I want to flash RUU 6.12.401.4. I am on same firmware, but have Google services FC and Sense home FC. I did factory reset in recovery, and it didn't help. So i want to reflesh same stock rom.
3. My bootloader is LOCKED
4. CID: HTC__032
I have used this RUU.zip file https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960687057
And when i flash it, I have signature verify fail error in fastboot. I dont want to UNLOCK bootloader.
Look at ss. All getvar info and RUU flashin error on ss.
Because you use wrong fastboot (generic) to flash the RUU.

No .. only once for RUU.zip
Flashing firmware.zip usually require you to flash it twice.
