Problem upgrading HBOOT - HTC One X

Hello mates, actually I´m on HBOOT 0.95 and i follow this tut https://www.dropbox.com/s/1avesz4l8fcnkku/Tutorial_hboot_upgrade.pdf
Also I download this RUU: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Ra dio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
My problem is after follow all steps I´m still on 0.95. Also the first time that I boot after follow the tut I boot normally but after the first settings of the ROM the only thing that I can see is the status bar so I reboot and now I´m stuck on boot logo. I don´t know what I should do now, I´m totally confused and need some help here. Thanks i nadvance.
EDIT: I forget to say that after the extract of the rom.zip from the exe that I download previously and flash it through RUU mode i get this error again and agin in CMD:
D:\HTC ONE X\fastboot>fastboot
sending 'zip' (653751 KB)...

Perform a fastboot command for me please ?
Fastboot getvar version-main
Please post back the number

Thanks for the fast answer, if I don´t be wrong my vresion is: 1.29.401.11, anyway I do the fastboot command in few minutes.
EDIT: Yes I give you the correct number also my CID is HTC__304 and I´m looking a how to from ARHD thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQasxRPopSM
This is the how to that I´m looking right now.

The problem with that ruu is that is has to jump from a very low hboot to a high hboot. It doesnt work somehow
Download this one
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...12-radio-2120413520-release-274900-signedexe/
Then put the phone in the bootloader and relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
After this you keep the phone in the bootloader and execute the ruu from the pc with admin rights
Right click the ruu and select - run as administrator.
After all this you boot the phone and update via the settings - software update menu to Jellybean stock.
Then unlock the bootloader again and flash a custom recovery , make a nandroid backup and flash a new JB rom of your choice

Yes, yes I don´t forget relock the bootloader, thanks again. I do it now and post the result.
Doing it right now, all seems to be ok for the moment....

Updated ?

All the process is done without problems and now I´m on HBOOT 1.12.0000
Now my question is: I see that for JB ROMs I need even a higher HBOOT version. I want to know what is the best option to update it. Can you help me again? Thanks anyway you are amazing.

After the ruu you go into the phone settings - about - software updates and check manually for updates !
Do all the ota's you can get !!!

OK, I am right now in the second update 367.14MB, Thanks.

Good that's the JB update

After this simply steps and without any problem I´m on HBOOT 1.39 ready for unlock BL again and flash a good JB ROM. Trally thanks again man, your help here was awesome,

Good ! Thanks mate
You will manage now
I say .....

[Q] messing up an upgrade

hello,
I seem to mess up all the guides of flashing JB.
My HOX has cid HTC_044 , HBOOT 0.43, currently running Revolution 9.7.2, recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0 recovery.
is there an easy/direct way to upgrade the HBOOT and the Rom to Revolution v18 ?
Also I tried that video tutorial but I got lost with all the Unlocking and Relocking.
I have a disability and pressing multiple buttons not easy for me so I'll really appreciate a step by step explanation.
Thank You.
Do you know fastboot commands to interact with the pc to the hox ?
If yes you can put the phone in fastboot usb mode with the fastboot command from pc
Fastboot reboot bootloader
or
Adb reboot bootloader
The phone should restart to the bootloader, then you can type the commands
Fastboot getvar version-main
And
Fastboot oem readcid
Post the results here please....

Oke download this RUU

put the phone in fastboot usb mode again and do this command
Fastboot oem lock
This will relock the bootloader and give a warning sign, that's normal, keep the phone in fastboot usb mode and execute the RUU from the pc WITH admin rights !
This will bring the phone back to stock ICS android 4.0.4 from there you can upgrade officially to JB !
Note : this will wipe the entire phone including sdcard !!!

That's correct but i wanted to let him update official because when he updated to JB he can make a clean nandroid backup of his JB stock rom, this way its easier to go back to stock when he wants that, or when he has to update again
Thank you all!

Update:
No, it didn't work!
That tool sent me to a link to download RUU but I don't know which one...
I tried RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed but it failed, my phone didn't even reboot.
As far as I know you need to reflash the stock recovery.img and boot.img provided in the rom.zip before the RUU will work.
I don't know if this is the same scenario, so I'm just throwing in a suggestion.

RUU will automatically flash all of those. All you need to have is locked bootloader.
Are you sure?
First I tried it normally with relocked bootloader, and it didn't work.
Second time I read somewhere about flashing recovery.img and boot.img from the rom.zip that appears somewhere in AppData when you start the RUU. relocked bootloader again afterwards.
Suddenly the RUU worked, so... I could have done something that I didn't know of that I was doing it, or it was simply because of the recovery.img and boot.img.
I got my HTC One X for about 3 weeks now, so I'm not really experienced or whatever. Just really curious about how Android devices work, since I'm also a 'barely-passed-noob-phase developer'.
so, how do I re-lock it?
and what is the right RUU for me?
The RUU Mr Hofs provided is the right one.
He also told that 'fastboot oem lock' is the command to get the bootloader relocked again.
What I did was:
(Starting off with an unlocked bootloader via htcdev)
Go into fastboot mode (which is done by holding volume-down and pressing power button, or running the adb command 'adb reboot bootloader') and run the following 5 commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
Run the RUU.
The boot.img and recovery.img for the RUU that Mr Hofs specified are in here: http://db.tt/lpQ8d3Vw
Yet I still don't know if this is the correct procedure for it to make the RUU run normally, but this is all I did to get mine working.
Good luck .
All info is correct !!! The ruu is correct and you ONLY need to RELOCK the bootloader ! The fastboot command is mentioned numerous times now
And please right click the ruu to select,
RUN WITH ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS !
and please put the phone in FASTBOOT USB before running the ruu !
will try it.
Thanks!
but how do I root it again after?
is there a rooting guide for HOX JB ?
sorry for the stupid question..

bootloader won't unlock (Too many links)

Okay, so i was just scrolling through my apps, then my phone randomly restarts, and wont go past the HTC Beats screen, and when it does, the screen is just black.
So i restart into bootloader, and it says "Locked" at the top, so it appears its relocked itself?
WHAT DO I DO? WAS rooted and running Revolution HD-9.8 ROM.
Thanks
Edit: Tried unlocking the bootloader again, no result, got error message "FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))

The most important thing you didn't tell is that the RUU flashed successfully, and that the phone didn't boot up. And that your bootloader goes from unlocked to LOCKED instead of relocked as it should......
The failed status error is normal, its confirmed everywhere on xda

Is your recovery CWM or stock? If you were running ARHD I suppose you had a custom recovery aswell?
As far as i know RUU won't work until you flash stock recovery.

Yes that's an option, but i tested a ruu once with custom recovery, kernel and rom and it worked flawlessly ! The main problem at this moment is that he flashes the .bin code and that the bootloader remain locked ! The commands are correct, but it refuses to unlock ......

Did he try to flash a custom rom despite the fact the boorloader says locked? Maybe it just says locked but is actually unlocked? Happend to me once and after rebooting into bootloader after flashing it said unlocked... dont ask why, just happened...
Yes i believe he tried that too, got faile attempt remote not allowed error.....he rebooted the bootloader a couple of times and it said unlocked indeed, maybe that's the solution....keep rebooting the bootloader untill it says unlocked and then start flashing directly
Its giving me a headache ..... Been thinking about this for 2 days already

You don't need to flash anything to use an ruu. The only thing that you need is a locked bootloader.
As the other user said. It may be reporting status wrongly. If you're going to try the ruu again. I suggest running fastboot OEM lock first just to make sure

Upgrade Hboot From 0.96

Hi,
I want to upgrade my Hboot. My current Version is 0.96
I found this very good tutorial: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1avesz4l8fcnkku/Tutorial_hboot_upgrade.pdf
My Problem is Step 1. I don't have the Unlock_bin anymore and I have lost my login to htcdev.com too.
Is there another way to upgrade the hboot?
Can I just install a .zip file from there?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Thank you.

Can't you do it through ota or ruu? Are you branded? What's your cid? That's an old h-boot so at a guess it's possible.

Even with the .zip method you'll need to relock/unlock the bootloader. It's NOT flashable in
recovery. Create a new account at htcdev.
Here's how to use the zip:
1. fastboot oem lock
2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
3. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (do several times if it fails)
4. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin.
@cjm1979
My One X is from T-Mobile (Germany). Currently I´m running Android 4.2.1 . When i will get mit CID it always says "cid:null".
@TToivanen Ok thank you.

Hmmm i can't see your needed ruu in the listing of ruu's. Also there is no nandroid backup available for you only a higher version. Don't know if that will work. Otherwise you have to flash the firmware if that is available !
You can check here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
It is available for you......read the instructions in the OP, lock the bootloader, flash the firmware with the given commands and unlock the bootloader, then a custom recovery and flash the desires JB rom
Just a reminder, if you haven't deleted the email from htcdev which had the unlock.bin file in it.. You can search for that in your inbox... I found my unlock.bin that way....

I have your ruu in my possession if you want it. The only thing you need to do is to relock the bootloader, run the ruu and after that update manually all the way to JB !!!
Either way....you always have to lock the bootloader in this case ! But unlocking is no problem mate

You need to do this
http://www.androidrevolution.nl/downloader/download.php?file=3.14.401.31.zip
Rename it to firmware.zip
Relock the bootloader :
Fastboot oem lock
Then go into ruu mode with these commands :
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
(Maybe 2-3 times needed)
Then reboot the phone and check if the bootloader has changed to 1.39
After the above you run the JB RUU
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
then you are on the updated jellybean software.

After "Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip", says "remote:battery low", the same problem that i had trying to do other things, it seems that the battery is not charging.
The battery only charges inside a custom recobery or when the phone is off.
I have a script that you can run from the fastboot folder. It will continuesly reboot the phone and charge it little by little and after a while you are able to flash again.

got the screen black with the hTC symbol in the middle. Then i did the "Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip "

alright......download this RUU :
http://htc.vi8.info/hTC-One-X/RUU_E...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
put the phone in the bootloader and relock it :
fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the relocked bootloader and execute the RUU.exe by clicking it with the right mouse button and select :
run as administrator
after that you keep the phone in the bootloader and flash this firmware :
http://arhd.onedroid.net/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One_X/401/3.14.401.31.zip
You copy the zip file to the fastboot folder on the pc and rename the file to firmware.zip
Then flash it via the commandprompt with these commands :
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (maybe its needed twice, check the outcome in the commandprompt)
Then re-unlock the bootloader and flash a new custom recovery and install a fresh new rom !
Enjoy
sir
sir when i relock bootloader does it says relocked on it?
bcz i have achieved it .. and i am now downloading the ruu as it is of 500 mb... can u please contact me on skype or any other where u can reply more promptly?
Sorry mate, only do threads. And yes it does say RELOCKED on top of the bootloader. Just follow the steps.

I would start on giving me some info if it all worked
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqzlpqo8illa53j/Philz recovery 5.15.9.img
That recovery works great for me.......and a rom, well that's personal choice. Browse around in this part of the one X forum and pick one you would like.
sir
do i have to use fastboot for recovery image?
and after running ruu as administrator it still stucks and reloads from htc logo
