Has anyone reenabled boot audio under CM 10.1 on the Captivate Glide? It's a minor issue, but I personally do not like the nothing and we're not going to give you a choice about it option in upstream. In my opinion if they want to default to boot time audio off by default ok, that's fine, but let us enable it and optionally customize boot up audio, it's a choice thing.
I'd love to be wrong about this.
Thanks.

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a kernel for the 1747, mainly one that allows custom boot animation for Bell's 4.1.1 touchwiz JB?
I've tried the KT747 kernel, but couldn't get the boot animation to work.
Then, I've tried imoseyon's lean kernel. While it was simple and had the features that I wanted, including the enabling of custom boot animations, the splash screen samsung logo turned pink. While I didn't mind the pink on the samsung logo, this however turns the custom splash screen I photoshop'd pink as well. Is there an alternative to this? Such as a way to work around it or fix it?
Specifically, I'm just looking for a simplistic kernel for the 1747 Samsung Galaxy S3 running on touchwiz JB 4.1.1, that allows a custom boot animation, (and of course, additional options are a plus).
While both kernels worked well, they were not right for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

hi all just tried to update my cer iconia a700 with cyanogenmod cm 10.1 anyways download it to tablet installed clockwork recovery as well as downloading gapps clicke on mod file and it opened clockwork and i clicked install to install mod/update and now just boots to cyanogenmod on load screen and just sits ther for hours like its loading but nothing happening how to i get back to old rom or even carry on with update i was on 4.1 jb tried to update to 4.2 and yes its rooted sry i am a noob to this thanks in advance
Hello smedzz.
Your device only has experimental and nightlies for Cyanogenmod, with no RC or stable ROMs available. The problem you are experiencing sounds a lot like the problem I had with Cyanogenmod 9.0 for my Samsung Galaxy S i9000. It was a release Candidate (RC), and slightly unstable, and hung up on the boot graphic occasionally. The only way to fix it was to flash the phone again (my experience).
If that sounds like a pain, you could look for a different ROM in the Developer section of the forums for the a700. The "iconiaN 2.6" ROM, based on Jelly Bean 4.1.1, sounds good. At least it would get your tablet working again.

Already solved?
Did you wipe?
Tried flashing CM10 after an XDA member suggested it. My SGH-I747 does not pick up my voice during a call after flashing CM10.1.2 nor does any other custom ROM I've tried. I can hear others clearly but they can't hear me. I can use speakerphone and speak right into the mic and then the other person can hear me. Am I installing something incorrectly? It is not hardware since touch wiz continues to work properly and the mic functions normally again when I return to stock. Any helpful suggestions? Thanks in advance.
JUST DO A RESTORE WITH ODIN AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO
THEN yu can now root/install custom roms make sure to back up EVERYTHING if going back to rooting, if custom Roms dont work try stock custom Roms which are better since there are based on stock touchwiz but with a little configuration and root, crazy awsome battery life, stable, fast LIKE CM10.1 and no issues so try it.......... hope that helps
running Synergy ROM 4.1.2 with Ziggy kernel using ATT Galaxy S3 I747
I've seen some videos of somebody using Siyah Kernel to dual boot on the S3. As far as I know, this kernel only works on the international version. I was just wondering if it would be possible to use a Rom Manager of sorts to boot between 2 different roms such as Stock Touchwiz and CM 10.1. I've already flashed CM before but it's a pain to switch between Touchwiz and CM by having to restore everything everytime.
Thanks

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767144 to use it for cm10+ you need to modify the updater-script. There's additional details in the thread
Hi there!
Do anyone know if ROMs cooked for Ace II would work on Ace IIx (GT-s7560M) and, in consequence, on Galaxy Trend (GT-s7560)?
I'm asking because due to the low popularity od Trend, I can choose from stock TouchWiz ICS and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292696, which is also ICS and that doesn't satisfy me. As I can see, there are lots of JB ROMs for Ace II, hence the question.
Thank you for your answers
No. I see cm10.1(or 10.2, whatever) for ace 2x, thats android 4.2(jb) why not use that

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. You could attempt to port a ROM from the Ace 2, but it wouldn't be bugfree. Getting it booted would be a feat. Like the previous commentor said, there is a CM10.2 and CM11 (JB and KK ROMs) ROM for the Ace II X, though it isn't completely bug free. You could also try my Mod Pack (link in my sig) for the stock ICS ROM. The next update will include some AOSP ICS themed visuals, so it'll make stock ROM feel more AOSP and less Samsung-y.
Well, I haven't noticed at first, there's even 4.3 ROM cooked for Ace IIx ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518416&highlight=ace+iix ), thanks for hints.
I'll try to set it up and running later today and confirm if it does the trick on Trend.

AFAIK, YoshiShaPow's Slimbean doesn't work. Bootloops. If you want a good ROM (and pretty much the only real custom ROM), try SeannyM's CM builds. There's 10.2 and 11 (Android 4.3 Jellybean and 4.4 Kitkat). All the source built ROMs for the Ace II X are currently buggy. There in his signature here. They'll definitely work with the Trend, but I'm not sure about RIL compatibility with the Trend. If it doesn't work, you can try flashing the Ace II X 'MG2 firmware from Sammobile with Odin, then installing CM.
For future seekers:
Well, after hours of flashing, wiping and testing, it's CM 10.2 ported by SeannyM which appears the best ROM for Galaxy Trend (originally meant for Ace IIx), CM11 has less features, ART doesn't work like it should and it's too buggy tu use so far. 10.2 has a couple of bugs but it's definitely usable as a daily driver. The most gear-grinding bugs are:
WiFi (either you have it turned on all the time or after turning it off you have to turn it on back again and reboot your device, otherwise it won't connect to any network saying 'authentication problem occurred'. That can also be a RIL issue with my device, as you've stated above),
Bluetooth, which simply doesn't work yet
Camera - you can just download any other camera app from play or whatever.
Some may also consider message which shows up after entering PIN ("a SIM card has been detected; reboot your device to install it" or something like that) a problem. You just bypass it by pressing 'back' button and everything's fine.
I use it with JB gapps and 1208MHz kernel, both also got to work by SeannyM, he has links to download all of them goodies in his signature.
Thanks for all the hints
I recently bought an Ace IIx, I quickly found out that it is different from the Ace II and there are less custom rom available. I would flash CM10.2 but I need bluetooth in my car, so I can't use CM10.2 until bluetooth is fixed.
For now, I'm running Daver's MG2 deodexed stock rom and I added a few tweaks (patched services.jar, installed busybox and enabled init.d support). Now, I would like to know if there are some init.d scripts available to improve performance?
