Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a kernel for the 1747, mainly one that allows custom boot animation for Bell's 4.1.1 touchwiz JB?
I've tried the KT747 kernel, but couldn't get the boot animation to work.
Then, I've tried imoseyon's lean kernel. While it was simple and had the features that I wanted, including the enabling of custom boot animations, the splash screen samsung logo turned pink. While I didn't mind the pink on the samsung logo, this however turns the custom splash screen I photoshop'd pink as well. Is there an alternative to this? Such as a way to work around it or fix it?
Specifically, I'm just looking for a simplistic kernel for the 1747 Samsung Galaxy S3 running on touchwiz JB 4.1.1, that allows a custom boot animation, (and of course, additional options are a plus).
While both kernels worked well, they were not right for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I was checking out my friends Iphone and he changed the sprint carrier name to a custom. I want to change the name on the pull down menu. Has anyone done this?
Is it possible on the E4GT?
are you on stock rom or custom rom if custom rom which one.
have you looked at maddoggins mod it includes that option and its available for various roms along with his....... but many have stated that it cause hot reboots which dont do anything wrong to your phone but just get annoying after a while.
I'm running blazer v4.0
Does anyone know how to do this?
I explain it pretty good in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21561526&postcount=40
Never had a hot reboot with maddogins rom and ran it for a while but every phone is different. Try TNZ Blend rom which has tsm parts and a ton of themes made for it too, only downside to the blend rom is an inverted crt animation on/off when the device goes to sleep (can be fixed by deleting the fancy screen rotation files that interfere with the crt animation)
I apologize if this has been asked before but I have searched the forums and unfortunately cannot find it. I am looking for the stock Sprint swirl boot animation. I found on called Original_Samsungs_BootAnimation.zip but it does not have the swirl. Again I apologize if I have just overlooked it but I've been searching for about an hour and cannot find it.
I have tried the method in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984035
but I get the samsung splash and then the green android lettering. Help?
I resintalled the ROM and it corrected my issue
BUMP!!!!
This would be awesome.. Im bored with other selections and do not like the one that comes with rom

Sometimes, kernels will only support bootanimation.zip files and will ignore the default samsung boot animation files. If you flash a custom kernel over the stock rom, your original boot files are there, but it is looking for a different file.
Hope someone can give me a pointer.
I have a (UK) Galaxy Nexus, currently with CM10 on it and TWRP recovery. Every time I try and install any custom kernel, it fails to boot. The same happened when I was on BlackBean and ParanoidAndroid roms, and I've tried Franco and PopcornKernel, in various combinations.
Regardless of what combo I've tried, I normally just get stuck on the Google splash screen. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, anyone have any ideas?
If you're running a kernel designed for 4.2.2 it will not run on cm10 (4.1.2). You need a kernel built for android 4.1 to run that ROM.

I've seen some videos of somebody using Siyah Kernel to dual boot on the S3. As far as I know, this kernel only works on the international version. I was just wondering if it would be possible to use a Rom Manager of sorts to boot between 2 different roms such as Stock Touchwiz and CM 10.1. I've already flashed CM before but it's a pain to switch between Touchwiz and CM by having to restore everything everytime.
Thanks

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767144 to use it for cm10+ you need to modify the updater-script. There's additional details in the thread
Hello all,
I recently installed a custom kernel (KT747) and realized I had lost the stock boot animation that the S3 gives upon booting: it changed for the custom KT747 kernel's one. I was wondering if anyone had by any chance the stock boot animation that comes with the S3 (preferably via a flashable zip) or knows how to recover it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you all!
