Sorry to bring up an old thread, but attempting this screen replacement today. With regards to the adhesive tape to use, regular Scotch 3m tape found at office supply stores works? Probably a stupid question, but i know there is regular and permanent 3m tape double sided. Which is suggested?
I'm wondering if the regular is "adhesive enough", and/or if the permanent is a better choice or should be avoided if it needs to be separated again at a later date.
Thanks.

[Q] HTC Double Dip Hard Shell Case - Screen Protector Compatibility

hi guys.
I have been looking around and trying different cases, however i always end up looking at the official Double Dip htc Hard case, as it looks to be the best one .
Just wondering about the case, asking the people who have used it. I always use Xtremeguard/Invisibleshield wet application screen protectors on my htc One. i wanted to know if the case is compatible with screen protectors? because i have come to experience some cases making the protector peel off.
any responses will be appreciated.

Some screen protectors work, some don't.
From my experience, skinomi and just a generic matte screen protector did not work with the case, but I'm using a gadget shieldz now and it works
absolutely right
bought this cover 2 days ago, unfortunately top (red) part of cover - when applied will peel off screen cover
this because gap for front camera eye, actually bottom side of this hole.
screen protector - nothing special - something from phones4u for 8 pounds
any idea?

I'd say get a "wet" screen protector as they can bend into shape. That's what mine has done, instead of peeling off because of the front camera it molded itself around it. Hope that makes sense

Hmm wet screen protector?
You mean apply drop of water on screen protector before ?

Yeah the screen protectors that need to be wet or have the screen wet before being applied
They're also easier to apply because you can take them off again and re-apply. The only ones I know of are gadget shieldz or skinomi
Has anyone tried putting on the HTC Double Dip case with a Ghost Armor screen protector?

I wouldn't trust that much third party DD cases, i mean, even the HTC ones are doing scratches.

I just received mine that I ordered off ebay /Hong Kong as well. It's pretty nice. I've removed it a couple of times already to see if it scratches and no it hasn't. I just made sure before I first put it on to clean/scrape the inside of any excess plastic.

I'd wait for about a day for it to settle and everything. Apply the screen protector before you sleep and then put the case on when you wake up.
Are wet application type screen protectors the only ones that are compatible with the Double Dip case?
I would feel more comfortable knowing that the screen is protected but I am not a fan of the grippy texture that Zagg usually has. But if it's the only one that works then beggars can't really be choosers.
Edit: Decided to go with the Zagg Invisible Shield. It actually isn't as bad as it used to be. I'm really satisfied with my purchase.

Hi,
Have never had much luck replacing the digitizer only, mainly due to the fact that the LCD is bonded to the digitizer and by replacing the digitizer only I have found that you can get dust between glass and LCD. If this doesnt bother you I've found that any instant adhesive is ok but use the smallest amount in the corners and in the middle of the longest edge - again dont use too much or it will run under the glass when you press edges down and will be visible. I have found it is best to buy a LCD/Digitizer combo with a midframe which comes with new 3M adhesive but you may need to use instant adhesive as the digitizer can separate from the frame later

Wet application of included screen protector

So I screwed up the first attempt with the included screen protector and got dust on it. So, I used hot water to get all the dust and glue off the back, then wet the phone and applied the protector to it, aligning it while wet, then used a credit card to push out all the bubbles.
The only problem is when I first removed it I bent the corner near the speaker.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this with a fresh one.
Also, does anyone know where to buy more of these? I'd like a fresh one.

I.....
Don't....
Really understand your question. What did you bent? The screen protector? Buy a new one?
If you meant something else.. then I've got no idea.
Yep, i always apply them under a running tap (low presssure) :good:
I also discovered my first Z3C wasn't waterproof this way, has been replaced by Sony after they tested it.

I like the matte screen protector Sony included, but I bent it when peeling it off the first time. So now there's a corner that won't lay flat on the device.
So, two clear and simple questions:
1. Has anyone else wet applied the screen protector?
2. Where can I buy another one? It looks there's one here, but it's not by Sony: http://www.amazon.com/iLLumiShield-Replacement-Anti-Glare-Anti-Bubble-Anti-Fingerprint/dp/B00M14MXUS
1. Somehow I doubt that there are many people apart from yourself who would consider wet application of what is supposed to be a dry application protector.
2. There's a whole other thread about this.
Edit: since Roxfit are the "official" providers of Xperia accessories, it's probably one of these:

Where can I buy the adhesive tape for the back cover?

Had to do a repair and it's now not as tight as I would like.
Check out witrigs.com or parts4repair.com...
Make sure you scrub+clean off the existing tape with rubbing alcohol else it wont stick well.

when i ordered my replacement screen such a set was included in my package. i cleaned off the surface where the adhesive would sit really carefully and then mounted everything back together. put some pressure on the device while i finished the replacement. the next day i saw the display on one edge slightly popping out of the device. now i let 2 heavy marketing books sitting on it for a day to put some pressure on it again...
maybe adding some heat to the glue will help?

The "glue", "adhesive tape" included with glass is rubbish. I have this same as You. I ordered only "adhesive tape" from link above, and the glass fits perfect.

U can test without any adeziv and see how da cover fits on ur phone and by that u will know how is without ad tape. I applied b7000 only and i didnt liked. that remain to ur pleasures
