[Q] Xperia S with MIUI not booting into recovery - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Please some one help me. I have MIUI installed on my Xperia S with unlocked bootloader. After flashing MIUI ROM I am not able to boot into recovery.Previous method (taping sony logo) is not working at all. Please some one help me. I need to get into recovery and change this ROM. Thanks in advance....

Dude,
If your on v5 like me.
Hold your power button, chose reboot from the menu.
The options should then be reboot, recovery and then boot loader.
Hope this helps.

Thanks bro, I have tried, but reboot menu only have one item. Which is a normal reboot. Btw, I am on V4. I have tried some app like Quickboot, Rom manager etc but when I tap reboot to recovery button it performs a normal reboot. Not booting into recovery...

Is v4 running off the fxp kernel? Using cm10 as a base?
If so when it boots up and shows free xperia logo. And your led goes purple press up on the volume to get in to recovery.

I think it has stock MIUI kernel. And when booting first it shows a sony white logo (not sony ericsson) and then MIUI logo. I tried keep pressing volume up but no luck. And there is no LED lights up at all...

Have you tried the volume buttons when the Sony logo appears?
Try both up and down.

Yes...I tried both. When I press volume down button it reboots into Safe mode.

The only other thing I can think of is to re install your recovery.
If that don't work extract your recovery files and then use flash tool to revert back to stock.
Then install recovery and drop the files back in.

it is a sign to hit a button to enter recovery if you're using custom kernel

I've been using the CWM boot to recovery option in the installer to boot to recovery, is it safe to uninstall the CWM Auto installer or does it need to be installed for CWM to work.

Since I upgraded my Arc S with the official update, the blue light is quite often flashing for no apparent reason when the phone is on, e.g. no sms, emails, missed calls etc. Does anyone know what that indicates? I know you've said it means about entering recovery when booting, but this is when the phone is fully booted. Cheers

Device options power button menu

Is there a mod (without flashing a new rom) that can give me more options when I press my power button..
Things like reboot into recovery?
I'm stock, rooted, and kt kernel but would like to keep my stock rom for now.
Thanks!

Those things require some changes to framework I think. You can install quick boot from the play store and get the same thing though.
Quick Boot does need root access though.
EDIT: Sorry, reread your post and you mentioned you were already rooted. I am rooted using Quick Boot on stock rom and it works great.
Thanks guys! Good enough for now! Wonder if I can program the power button to run quick boot on press?

Do you see a blue LED notification light? If so, you could try pressing volume down when seeing that

Reboot to recovery doesn't really work that well, it doesn't on my tablet either. Just let it reboot, and when it's booting again spam either the volume down or back key, depending on your kernel.
I have to press the volume up button on my phone to get into cwm

But if you installed via x-parts you may want to try a different version of it. Newest has issues. Just search the x-parts thread.

I use cwm-installer and then i tap the volume up button to enter cwm that way of that helps sorry kindnof a noob here lol just saying what worked for me

You might have to do a factory reset in recovery mode. Thats normally the easiest way to get past softbricks.

- pull battery
- then hold home, volume up, and power and release when ever the blue text on top right flashes.
You flashed a TW kernel and not an AOSP one. That's why you got a bootloop
