Open the zip, extract the images and delete the google logo in every image

Righto, seems easy enough. I've made a HTC One branded version, cheers for source files :good:

Tried to flash, but nothing changed (Trickdroid 8.0.0)

Flashing that zip didnt work for me... is this AOSP only? Mine just comes up with the HTC logo.

how do i make this into a downanimation? i tried to rename but when I boot down, I realized it's not centralized, the google word and animation is at the top of the screen instead. Could anyone help on this?

didnt work for me. is it aosp based or stock sense?

Shouldn't matter. I used the one in the OP (I'm on Sense 4.1.2). It probably depends on where the bootanimation is located on your rom. I also discovered that the first time I got it, it was a bad download (different file size). Re-downloaded and it works fine.

ARHD may have the boot animation named differently like boot_HTC_animation.zip. Maybe a rename and push will help
Sent from my HTC One using Xparent Gray Tapatalk 2

working fine on CM10.1, just pushed the bootanimation.zip file into /system/media (override the existing file), then booted into TWRP and fixed permissions, rebooted and there it was

I found the bootanimation for 10.3 to be in system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip

Working great on ARHD 11
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta

So I'm using TrickDroid Sense 8.0.0 and can't seem to get this functioning correctly.
When I replace the hTC_bootup_one.zip located in /system/customize/resource with either of the bootanimations provided in this thread I end up with the stock android text bootup animation.
Has anyone gotten this to work w/ TrickDroid yet? If so, any pointers would be fantastic.
Thanks!

Anyone been able to install this on TrickDroid GE edition? Can't seem to get it working when placing in /system/customize/resource
Flashable zip doesn't do anything either.

[BOOTANIMATION] Animated G2 logo boot animation

I really like the stock G2 boot image, but without being animated, it felt very stiff and boring. So I added some animation to it. It's very simple, with the fading grey lines at the top and bottom moving to the left slowly:

}
(this is a low quality GIF, the actual animation looks better, I promise)
I made this mostly for myself, but it turned out better than I expected so I wanted to share it. This is my very first boot animation, so be gentle in your criticism. This is an 800x480 boot animation, so it should work on other devices with that screen resolution, though I don't know why you'd want a G2 boot screen on your Nexus One or Droid Incredible.
To use this animation, use adb or a root explorer app to put the file in /data/local and make sure it's named bootanimation.zip. The file is attached below, or you can download it from MediaFire.
UPDATE: I just finished the modified version of this boot animation that replaces the T-Mobile logo with the HTC logo. Aside from that, they're the same. The new one is attached below, or you can grab it from MediaFire.
Enjoy!
Very cool! I like this because it maintains the stock look but is much nicer than the static boot image. Also not too goofy or flashy like others I've seen. Downloaded and copied to /data/local/ with Root Explorer, reported, and worked great! Thanks !

You can do it 3 ways... through adb, terminal, or root file manager.
Made this real quick while waiting to be unloaded. Tested and works. Put .zip on root of sd, open file manager (have su permissions and mounted as rw) copy and go to system/media, paste. Enjoy! "Rooted!!" will flash. I think it's cool so I share.Peace

That's not a bad idea. I personally like the T-Mobile version, but I can try making a version with an HTC logo. Any preference on color? Should the HTC logo be green or the same grey as the G2 logo? I should have time to make that later today.
If I put this in data/local, then choose to delete it at some point, will I encounter any issues?

Absolutely not . If you want to go back to the stock boot animation
just use root explorer to move the bootanimation.zip folder from
data/local back to your sd card , Reboot and back to normal .

They can but you have to change a few files to make it work. A custom kernel that supports it is recommended. However if ur on a stock kernel,
Go to /system/bin/ and find the file called "samsungani" and delete it. Then find the file called "bootanimation", and rename it to samsungani. Place the downloaded bootanimation.zip in /system/media/
im new to themes and i cant figure out how to push the nexus .zip file into system/media. im using root explorer

this worked on my phone with Blazer 1.8 and the JellyBean Theme 13.0...however, it did NOT work on my wife's fully stock, rooted rom. it didnt crash or bootloop, it just didn't show anything, it was all black until the lockscreen popped up...
any idea?
needs to be a stock DeOdexed Rom.
Sent from my JellyBombed Galaxy S III.
oh that sucks. will have to convince my wife to try a custom rom at some point.
josh, any plans to put out a custom kernel with freeza's fix integrated?
No. I'm not a kernel dev.
In fact I have found the most stable kernel with best battery to be the stock LG8 kernel. U lose custom boot animation, but its such better battery.

Polaris office

Hi, I am running paranoid android jb version, and want to get polaris office back. I've got the apk already, but I read somewhere else that I would need libnativedocviewer.so into /system/lib. Can someone help?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Are you sure you need libnativedocviewer.so ? Have you tried installing apk without this lib? If not, try to do so. If Polaris won't work without lib, install attached zip using recovery.
Thank you. I have flashed it using recovery. Unfortunately, it still crashed when I try to run it. Does it only work on sense ROMs? Can I run it on cm or aosp?

You need these libs. unzip the attachment and copy the libs to /system/libs and change the permisiions to RW-R-R then install the polaris apk that you have. I do this on every rom i flash and i never had any problems. Currently running CM10 with no issues
Please note - This is NOT flashable in recovery
Hope this helps

most of the roms have

so you should make separate zips or a aroma installer

you are wrong mate
if you have this in you
\system\customize\resource\hTC_bootup_one.zip
and you flash a bootanimation with a different name
then it will not work because the system will search for this ->hTC_bootup_one<-
file name
there is a other place where devs can change the place and name of the file
so if i where you i really make a other one
and not make a zip with 1 bootanimation that flashes in 3 different places

Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
He means that different ROMs have the boot animation in different locations and it is named differently. Due to that, yout flashable zip won't work on all ROMs
It would be a lot easier if you uploaded just the zip which contains the animation (non flashable) and every user could rename it according to their ROM and place it manually.
Any sample pictures of the anim?

What rom are you running (I'm assuming you're installing this on a nexus 7)?. I'm not sure if it would make a difference (but who knows). I have this bootanimation on my N7 with AOKP 4.2.2, My Xyboard with stock rooted ICS 4.04, and my Razr Maxx HD on stock rooted JB 4.1.1.
I'll do some other testing. I have a few friends with N7's.

Isn't working for me, even though I think it is user error.
Using root explorer I changed the permissions to rw-rw-r. I didn't see a folder named local inside my data folder.
I'm sure I didn't put it in the right place. Also, do we need to install the apk, or just copy/paste/rename/permissions of the zip?

Are you looking in the /data folder in the root of your device?
It's different than /sdcard/data.
So if your rooted, you can use rootexplorer to navigate to the topmost folder using the "parent folder" option at the top of every file/folder directory list until you cant navigate upwards any more. That /data should have a /local folder in it.
The apk is just a download and install process. No copying/pasting/permission changing necessary.
Yeah I tried the apk and all it did was make my auto-brightness go crazy. Dim->bright->dim every few seconds. Had to uninstall with titanium backup and everything is normal again.
