[Q] Unlock HOX for international carriers - HTC One X

Hi!
Im from Chile, South America and im going to Australia in a couple of days.
I want to unlock my HOX to use it there and in some websites they offer an "unlock code" base on the cellphone imei, carrier company and country, does it really work?
My HOX is a tegra 3, android 4.0.3, hboot 0.9, s-on, locked bootloader, stock ROM, Movistar carrier.
If that code Works and i unlocked my HOX to work on Telstra AU for example, if i want to load a custom ROM it will locked the cellphone again?
thanks in advance!

No if you flash or load a custom rom, your phone will not relock.

[Q] Japan Arc no unlock key screen

I had bought a Japan ARC [SO-01], unfortunately, I bought it b4 1 April, so i cannot get unlocked by docomo and also I'm not in japan now...
I think the unlock code from some provider also work but the problem is that, my phone will not prompt any unlock key insert screen, please help :"(
All Docomo phones sold before and after April 1st still come carrier-locked. The only difference is that starting April 1st, you can now take your handset into Docomo, pay ¥3150, and get your phone unlocked -- even if you bought your phone before April 1st.
You will have to go into a Docomo store, however. If your phone is still carrier-locked (to Docomo), your best shot is to find someone in Japan who can do it for you. Perhaps you can contact the seller and arrange the unlock for some fee.

the Lt15a(America version) and the Docomo SO-01c are hte same and that is why i ordered from japan
this website has the unlock for xperia arc
http://www.gsmliberty.net/shop/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-x12-unlock-codes-p-3329.html
Although they say "They can do" but actually they cannot do, because nobody can find entry screen for unlock code. I bought UNLOCK code from them but cannot do this.

Subject: xperia arc
Can you unlock the japanese xperia arc ?
its the Docomo SO-01c
Basically Docomo says this model cannot be UNLOCKED and this has to keep specified ROM.
But finally I could UNLOCK by flashing global ROM and after completing ROM flashing, unlock screen appeared. Therefore I could enter unlock code successfully!
But the key thing is that this cannot be returned to original ROM which is provided from Docomo, so now this is UK or Chinese (HKG) version (LT-15i).
And slightly Japanese font is different from original font style, probably this is Chinese KANJI, I guess.
You can return it to DoCoMo firmware. You just need somebody to update their DoCoMo arc and send you the firmware files.

Sure, the box says exactly this: "GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA Bands 1/2/5/6" The UMTS/HSPA bands are 2100/1900/850/800.
You need someone with DoCoMo firmware to update their phone. If they then pack the 'db' folder from SEUS and upload it, I will be able to make an .ftf file for flashtool.

Hi,
Usually I am in Japan but this month I have to stay in France. If I get a Xperia arc european version here and then take it to Japan with me.
Will it be possible to use it in Japan? Does the european version support the japanese network?
Will it be possible to flash the docomo firmware to use sp mode?
Thanks

No, you can not get the European version, the LT15i, for use on DoCoMo. I'm unsure of Softbank.
Arg. Too bad. Thanks for the quick reply.

I think that any japan arc, could be flashed anywhere with an european version software (ie: unlocked LT15i flash rom). The phone will result with the european firmware, but it will support american and japanese networks.
I did that with my C905, its model is "C905a", but I flashed it whit the C905i firmware because of different spanish text from Europa. I use 3G in chile with no prob.
SO, can't this be done to a Japanese Xperia arc?

Sim Unlock DHD 2.3.5

Vodafone allow you to unlock - Do a google search "Unlock SIM Vodafone Desire HD" or go to this link:
http://community.vodafone.com.au/t5...HTC-DESIRE-HD-via-vodafone-website/td-p/34433
Link was down a moment ago but should come back on line soon :good:
I can't actually unlock the normal way - crazy johns is a carrier on the Vodafone network, and in the end I will have to pay in excess of $150 etc etc... I have just rooted and unlocked my partners Galaxy S1, and I was just wondering if I can do the same with my HTC, but it seems because I have Gingerbread 2.3.5 that it is almost impossible.. I don't understand how to downgrade to older software using command prompt etc, I'm not really that smart.. haha.
Any suggestions?

SM-T805 O2 UK version bootloader, ROM compability

Could SM-T805 O2 UK version can be flashed by any SM-T805 ROM, does it compatible?
Does SM-T805 O2 UK version has unlocked bootloader? (I only know, that SM-T805 Verizon version has locked bootloader).
I know, that locked LTE for O2 UK network carrier can be unlocked by purchase unlock code, but what's about android firmware flashing?

You should be fine flashing an unbranded t805 rom. O2 do not lock bootloaders.

Questions Regarding 32.4.A.1.54

Regarding 32.4.A.1.54
1 is there a UK customized version available ?
2 if i use one for a certain network would it lock my phone to that network as its currently sim free , or would it just limit me to that network in till i change the ROM ?
3 would a customized version for a different country be better ?
thanks for any reply's

hopefully it helps
hi elf cheers for the reply , my issue i dont wanna use the Vodafone one since my phone is unlocked.. O_O im assuming it just has vodafone bloatware... but i dont want to do it in case it wont accept my sim then, since its not a Vodafone one. and have to revert back to a older version.

use the MENA Arabic version. I found it much better in terms of bloatwareZ
and its in English btw, its just designed for MiddleEast
however i am not sure what bands it won't support for Europe.
however there is also CENTRAL EUROPE version which i havent tried yet
You can choose to exclude parts before the flash.
I exclude all .ta files
Flashing a rom shouldn't lock your phone. But flashing a rom from a different region or CDA, xould cause wifi / radio conflicts.

if your bootloader is still LOCKED then kindly first downgrade to Android6.01 and EXTRACT TA.IMG using DIRTYCOW SCRIPT available on XDA
no yasu my boot loader is not locked im refering to the networks on xperifirm via the downloads... please read what im asking based on . E.g my phone is unlocked NETWORK WISE... the rom is normally use is Generic UK but its not on the latest update... but there is a Vodafone ( network provider ) in the Uk which has this rom up to date... e.g no different network bands.. but i'm assuming vodafone bloatware... also im asking based on it being a vodafone rom would it limit other network sims from working.
cheers

Good day dear.
thank you for explaining again. yes I got confused with the term UNLOCKED with bootloader only.
1. since your device is not SIMLOCKED you can flash any other region as long as you stay with-in your variant. the VODAFONE may have presintalled bloatware in this case try flashing central europe? (if its latest).
2. apart from anything else, consider downgrading to android6 or 5.1.1 for once, in order to EXTRACT TA.IMG

HTC One M9 volte

Hello devs is there going to be a rom that will work on volte? I'm running an HTC One M9 AT&T with dev edition ruu right at this moment but I have flashed everything from venom to insert coin to lineage, aicp, more, beanstalk...... None will work on VoLTE I have to either run 3g all the time or turn 4g off while I'm not using data it's very annoying cause I forget. I have been looking for a solution Nada. Please help if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
The dev edition firmware doesn't support VoLTE. You need to use a branded firmware which has VoLTE enabled. It doesn't matter which rom you use as long as your firmware doesn't support this feature.

Well the one I have is working its a dev edition but when I flash a custom ROM I have to turn off 4g to receive phone calls
As said before, the problem (normally) isn't which rom you flash. It's which firmware you use. If you convert your phone e.g. to the AT&T branded version and flash e.g. ViperOne, ICE or Leedroid, afterwards, you can use VoLTE.
The dev edition (just like the unbranded European and the unbranded Asian version) doesn't have VoLTE enabled by default. The stock rom of said firmware versions switches to 3G automatically as soon as you receive a phone call. I'm not sure why that feature doesn't work on your phone as soon as you flash a custom rom. From my own experiences, it's working fine on e.g. ViperOne.
I can confirm flippy, the wwe is capable of volte as I get it on O2. It would seem here in the UK you need a branded firmware to get onto volte BUT if you debrand the phone to wwe it can volte on any network.
For example ee say that only ee branded phones can use their volte, which is true because all other branded phones can only use 'their' networks volte as it is preprogrammed and cannot be changed by normal means.
If you root, change cid and debrand with another firmware then you can use any volte as it depends on the sim card in the phone.
On HTC devices custom roms just piggy back of the firmware that is pre installed. The rom is just another form of user interface for the device so in theory the rom 'should' be volte compatible providing the firmware installed before it was capable and unbranded. Remember that only "branded" devices can use the network unless its unlocked wwe. So if you had an att firmware and you flash a custom rom onto it then it is no longer branded and shouldn't be allowed.. If its previously unbranded and you flash a rom then it should be allowed. Needs testing..
A long winded way of telling you bugger all but I hope it makes the carriers requirements a tad clearer..

Actually this is not true, or maybe your wwe it's actually not wwe.
I have s.rom custom rom, if I have 4.28.401.3 firmware volte isn't working(the function disappear from settings)
If I flash the Orange UK firmware(4.19.61.1) the VoLTE is working, and no I don't have Orange UK sim, I tested with Orange RO and Telekom RO.
Flashing a custom rom doesn't debrand the phone. The debranding process consists of
getting S-OFF
changing the CID to one that belongs to either SKU 617 (dev edition), 401 (unbranded European), 708 (unbranded Asian), 709 (another unbranded Asian) or 710 (unbranded Australian)
flashing either a RUU or one of Sneakyghost's firmware packs that belong to the CID you chose before
And you don't need to debrand for using other carriers with your phone. Only a sim unlock might be needed if the carrier branding contains a sim lock.
If you really use one of the unbranded firmwares then the M9 isn't capable of using VoLTE. That's why all the Jio customers from India convert their phones to either the AT&T or the T-Mobile US version.
Like @lucyr03 explained, it doesn't matter which carrier you use as long as the firmware of your phone is capable of VoLTE.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Labs
Mine has htc_001 from factory so it is wwe. It was never branded and I get volte on 02 or ee depending on which sim I use.
To unbrand your phone you must flash either wwe euro or wwe usa firmware. All other firmwares are branded.
I was referring to this part of your last post:

And there are more unbranded firmwares than the dev edition and the European unbranded one (which both aren't called wwe since that's an abbreviation for world wide English).
