Vodafone allow you to unlock - Do a google search "Unlock SIM Vodafone Desire HD" or go to this link:
http://community.vodafone.com.au/t5...HTC-DESIRE-HD-via-vodafone-website/td-p/34433
Link was down a moment ago but should come back on line soon :good:
I can't actually unlock the normal way - crazy johns is a carrier on the Vodafone network, and in the end I will have to pay in excess of $150 etc etc... I have just rooted and unlocked my partners Galaxy S1, and I was just wondering if I can do the same with my HTC, but it seems because I have Gingerbread 2.3.5 that it is almost impossible.. I don't understand how to downgrade to older software using command prompt etc, I'm not really that smart.. haha.
Any suggestions?

I bought the Telstra version and wiped it with the Generic HTC ROM. Works a treat.
Where did you guys buy your Telsta models from?
Thanks

I wonder why they Aussie models are so much more expensive.
(and why do the specs in that link show euro specs?)

Do you have problems with GPS? I was told by the folks at onthegosolutions that the HTC non-Telstra version had GPS problems. I assume they have upgraded thier Telstra models to the latest Telstra ROM with some sort of GPS fix

Hi all
I'm new, and i'm glad to be a member of this great forum!
I've lot of confusion about the sim unlocking on my HTC Tattoo branded Orange.fr to my Wind SIM (italian)
After a series of research on google, i've understand that i've two options:
- The first one is buy a sim unlocker in a shop like Dealextreme
- The second one is root the Tattoo and install a ROM that doesn't have sim locking
But... i've some questions:
1. Have I well understand what i've to do?
2. It's better to have some crapy chinese unlocking stuff or doing some tricky hacking software procedure?
3. Wich ROM do u suggest me?
3.1 Is true that if i flash other roms i lose the radio and the camera?
3.2 Is it better use a rom based on android 1.6 or android 2.x? Why?
Thanks in advance for your help
matteios
Nobody can help me?
Tnx
Hi there
The debranded firmware on the Tattoo doesn't solve the unlocking issue.
We have one in store that is still waiting for a solution. To root/debrand is the same as the Hero, but the sim unlock code still doesn't get accepted after flashing. That's as far as i've got with it!
Unless something has occurred recently that i've missed that's all i can help with for now!
SU
Now i've unlocked it by using the IMEI code, but even now can't i install a costum ROM on my HTC Tattoo?
Question is in the topic.
Thanks
So apparently my phone is too new to be in the database.
Does this mean I am stuck not being able to use newer roms?
My current radio is : 32.42.00.32U_4.09.00.08
To new? You should be able to install any desire roms on the forum.
my one is similar:
Baseband version 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20
and what is the meaning of this value?

I strongly suggest this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Unlock-Code-H...Software_RL&hash=item3a5d6cd72b#ht_2082wt_911
From Ebay. It only cost you 8 pounds and it will get unlocked in 5 minutes.
I'm on orange network too and I unlocked it by using the unlock code.
Hope this help.
I installed the latest radio 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20
on my Orange and it locked out......I used the following site to get an unlock code, had my desire unlocked in about 15 minutes
(please note,I'm not advertising, just trying to help)

Thanks for you help, but I spoke to that guy yesterday and he said he can no longer do the desire and will be pulling it down, he said it might come back at £19.99 in the future.
I used one website yesterday and it came back as not on database (possible reason phone too new is what it said)
Hi, I'm new in-house. Can anyone tell me how to unlock my motorola defy phone from T-mobile to other networks? I have a vodafone sim with mobile internet services I'd love to use on the phone. Alternatively, can anyone recommend a reliable site where I can get a genuine unlock code from?

Hi!
Im from Chile, South America and im going to Australia in a couple of days.
I want to unlock my HOX to use it there and in some websites they offer an "unlock code" base on the cellphone imei, carrier company and country, does it really work?
My HOX is a tegra 3, android 4.0.3, hboot 0.9, s-on, locked bootloader, stock ROM, Movistar carrier.
If that code Works and i unlocked my HOX to work on Telstra AU for example, if i want to load a custom ROM it will locked the cellphone again?
thanks in advance!

No if you flash or load a custom rom, your phone will not relock.
