Which kernels deliver the best battery life? Especially for gamers or movie watchers?
Does it work with the External and Internal SD swap hack?
Plain and Simple, Devil Kernel For the Win!.
+1
Devil is good + duel boot

Hi, I am using Juggernaut 5.0 and I have a few questions! I am using the Kernel that it came with, and as well using crypted's aGPS lock ADB script, AND using the Blaze LB7 modem..
My 2 questions are:
1. What would be a optimal kernel to use with Juggernaut, if the one that it comes with is not the best
I would still want speed, and functionality, with decent battery life.
and 2. Would flashing a new kernel effect the aGPS script fix, and my modem?
Thanks in advance!
The best kernel out is Eugene 373 streamline r1 by far. But if you want battery savings go for stock or synergy or bullet.

I get best battery and decent performance from darksideX kernal
2. No you need to flash a new radio for that. Try blaze radio. Make sure it's gb radio and not ics

Really?
Because I always got the best performance but only decent battery life with darksideX kernel (I get better battery life with synergy).
Have you tried the newest synergy kernel?
I'd say go with synergy. Good performance and best battery life in my experience.

Ktoonsez's kernel. Getting decent battery life and it comes with a built in tweaking app, ktweaker.
Kt747, I think you'll find most people are running ktoonsez kernel.

+1 for KT747.

Another +1 for kt747
KT747! been having great battery life and performance. Also the ktweaker app is very useful
I use KT747 as well. Performance/battery life has been great, and I haven't even gotten into undervolting at all..yet
Stock Kernel + Stock ROM (LH1) + Cell Standby Fix = More than sufficient for me..
I run kt747 most of the time but my phone doesn't like it much. Tried faux and it was OK. I wish there were more choices. I had siyahs kernel on my gs2 and I loved that one. I see there's one for the i9300 but no att love

Ktoonsez's kernel awesome battery and no problems that i can tell
Stock
9-5b toonz
red s3 ocd 2.1
Faux's. It's the only kernel for this phone that I know of which has no issues and just works, stable, at super fast oc speeds.
I really want to try kt747 once some of the bugs are resolved.

I still can't find one that let's me move apps to the SD card. This is really driving me crazy. I tried "highonandroid" rom which switches the internal and external cards but had problems with some apps from the google play store telling me there was not enough room to download so I am back to stock.
Thanks

Why is moving apps to the sd card so vital to you? I'm not trolling, i'm curious. We have a ton of on board storage and big app installs go to sd anyhow.

I am not speaking about the internal SD as to me this is just my part of my phone internal storage that is filling up fast. I am speaking about the external SD card (mine is 32 gig). On all my other android phones (Atrix and Galaxy Note) I could us a program called Apps to SD and move some of my apps to the external SD card. We can't do this with the S3 because of something Samsung did and I am looking for way to do this.
Also, could some please post a link to Ktoonsez's kernel. So many are using it I would like to try it out.
Thanks
Kt747 is in original development, there's like 6 threads yu can't miss it.

I guess it's going to be repetitive to say this right now...but +1 for ktoonsez kernel
ktoonservative+underclock 96-1188+undervolt+noop=orgasm
Faux's jus got works and has no bugs or issues. It's better then stock and ocd up to 1.8.to fine tune you should get system tuner.
Kts kernel last time I read the thread seemed to have e a lot of bugs but seems to have great upsides also. I hope that most the issues get resolved soon as I really want to try to oc to 2ghz and play with gpu oc also
But If you need something that's as stable as stock just better.. Get Faux's

Hello everybody. I am getting the Xperia Play tomorrow or Saturday. I plan on flashing a custom ROM and kernel right away. On my current phone, I am using JB and really love it. Are their any good JB ROM and kernel combinations for the Xperia play. If there aren't, what are some other good ROM and kernel combinations. I am looking for something fast, smooth, clean and with good battery life. Oh, and I also plan on overclocking. Any tips on that? Thanks!
If i was you i'd install Nxt 1.3 gb by kris dee, with Lupus v4 kernal, best rom by miles even though its based on gingerbread,
Also i'v flashed baseband 36 which is the best baseband for battery performance, My battery lasts alot longer than normal

There are two really good roms:
XperiaNXT (Android2.3.7)
Unofficial Test Release ICS (Android4.0.4)
And two Kernels:
LuPuS
DooMKernel
I Using the Unofficial Test release with LuPuS-ICS-Beta-Kernel V8, overlocked to1.8 GHz and I'm very happy with this combination.
Great performance and great Design...
And in the next days come update v2 with more improvements...
Use this combination, you would be faszinated

Just matter of what works vest with our phone....lean kernel works best for me personally where as the others make my phone hot or drain it faster. Deviant works best for my friend whereean makes her phone hot....just try all the popular kernels for two full charges and see which gives better battery life.....and doesn't blow up your phone with the heat

agreed. i've found that lean or kor kernel works best for me.
:good:
Not sure why this was bumped but in case anyone is still following along, all kernels preform differently for all devices. Your best bet is to try them all. When I have a new device it may sound weird and all, I flash the kernel with the most thread views and try them in descending order. This way you are trying what appears to be giving most people the best results and if you don't like your results ,continue your venture.
For Touchwiz I prefer however kt747 simply because Team Kernelizer has some awesome files for undervolting. The other kernels are pretty swell too.

Depends on which ROM you are?Aosp or tw..
1:Thor kernel-smooth-fast-best battery aosp or tw
2:neak kernal good all rounder for two roms
3:devil can duel boot and is blazing fast with OK battery
Check your ROM op to see if he/she suggested different kernal
This is in my experience with kernels...
