I didn't flash any kernel, there is a option in EQS settings. Kernel option. I didn't get that what is kernel is it boot.img
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Yes like i said, you need a custom kernel that supports those features. If the kernel you are using now does not has those features implemented you obviously can't use it.
And yes a custom kernel (full package) exists of a boot.img (the actual kernel) and a .zip file that contains the matching modules. The boot.img is also located in the .zip file.

I can only suggest a kernel. Try XM kernel but read in the rom thread if it needs to be repacked !!!

Ready for rooting...but I want to be sure...

Hi guys! I got my One x Yesterday and now Im ready for rooting
I readed around our forum and found 3 interesting thread.

the last one its an all in one toolkit to root our HOX.
which's the best for you?
Also: which rom do you recommend (I like the stock features and look with some tweaks)
thank you guys! And keep up the good work to all devs!
use this thread. that is the one i used and very straight forward mate.
and use ARHD if you want close to stock with few tweaks. But still if you want a rom that is stock but with loads of tweaks and has the unique tweaks and always one step ahead of the competition use Team PKMN rom... for me that is the best rom at the moment and basically has mods and tweaks that no other rom has and support is brilliant and well the themers of that rom actually know how to theme and not think to much of themeselves
Rom that i am talking about and suggest:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625816

in the rom thread you wrote i read the HOx must be s-off or htc-dev unlock...correct if Im wrong: with s-on we cant flash boot directly right? so how I can s-off my HOX?
At the present there is no way to s-off a HTC one x. You don't need s-off to install a custom Tom or kernal however. Just follow the instructions in the help thread and you should be fine.
HTH.
Do you use any particular kernel or the one with ROM? Set cpu can help having better battery?

For the most custom ROMs you have to repack the kernel. However, on ViperX ROM there's no need to repack, just flash the boot.img for the kernel and install the modules in CWM.

Sweet so no repacks needed for viperx Rom just install the original custom kernels then? i.e faux123 kernal

Sorry another noob Question based off of this, but how do you know if a Rom needs a repacked kernal or not?

Yuo, no need for repack. Just download the ones from the official faux thread and you're ready to go!

If there are any ramdisk tweaks you need a repack. It's usually also stated in the OP if you need repack.

[Q]

Hi all guys. I flashed Ice col jelly 4.2.1 and i have some questions.. Why there si no photosphere option in camera app ? Which 3.x kernel can I sue for it to use project butter and optimize battery life ?
Hi. I've heard that photosphere is not supported on our device (it makes the camera app FC) and that's why developers removed it from their rom.
For the kernel, I don't know, I might be interested if someone has an answer.
PS : maybe you should be more specific in the title of your thread
I tried Trip's one x+ kernel on ICJ421 when it first came out it was v002 if I remember right. I was able to boot but got reboot after a minute of use.
The stock kernel is the best at the moment.

Do I have to flash a rom before flashing a kenel?

Hello Everyone!
My HTC ONE X is rooted and currently does not have any ROM installed. I m using my stock HTC Sense. I want to flash a kernel so as to get Sweep2wake feature. I dont want to press that power button again and again to unlock my phone.
Can i flash a kernel without a ROM installed?
I just want better battery performance and Sweep2wake.
Thanks!
Yes, you can.
But you need add some string in bulid.prop if you don't want to flash a rom
However, I recommend to you the XM Kernel!
And how to add some strings in build.prop?

You need to be rooted.
If you are, use 'Trickster Mod' from the playstore

Yes these kernels are flashable from recovery. You need s-off to be able to do this. This is imo One of the biggest pro's of s-off, thanks MameThozio!

From the number of posts you have already made, I know that you didn't get to this topic with a Google search. Since you you should already know that you are in the android development forum, why not hit the back button in your web browser and look through the topic list for a title that includes s-off. Its a new topic and a very busy one.
Good luck
